I think its a GREAT ship

Shikamaru’s always been looking out for naruto (physicaly obviously but mentally as well. shika’s always been attentive to naruto’s feelings, emotions, and the hardships hes been through) 

AND this guy literally came back from the brink of death because he wanted to stay by naruto’s side. 

Like hes lying on the ground barely alive and he starts monologuing about naruto hes whipped
