I just got to add Bo Burnham's 1985 to my Connor playlist, because guess whose father figure was born in 1985š„ø
Man I hate hearing opinions about movies or episodes that I care about, but haven't watched yet
I can deal with positive ones better, but even those are annoying because I'm afraid my feelings about it won't live up to that perceptionš§ Negative ones are even worse though because why would you influence my watching experience like this?? I just wanted to enjoy something fun, but now you've got me wanting to prove you wrong by feeling different about it (due to me caring about said media while the other person will usually dislike it in these cases) while also wanting to take your valid opinion into consideration and see your point, so then I'm stuck feeling conflicted about it EVEN THOUGH I JUST WANTED TO ENJOY THIS, JUST LET ME WATCH IT IN PEACE AND BUILD MY OWN SECURE OPINION BEFORE HAVING IT INFLUENCED ALREADYš„ø
As much as I've got to admit that I'm lowkey very fond of this detail, it still doesn't make any sense to me. I've looked it up and V.R. is apparently supposed to stand for Victoria Regina, the queen during Sherlock Holmes' time
But Sherlock isn't interested in politics at all. Why would he be patriotic enough to shoot the queen's initials into his walls?? Maybe it's just something random cause he didn't have anything better to use instead, but I doubt that the queen would be of enough significance for him to even use it randomlyš§ I mean why would Sherlock feel the need to pay homage to her?
incoming !DBH SPOILERS! TW: concentration camp
I mostly want to mention that 1. Iām glad I managed to play Markus in a consequently pacifist way, love that guy 2. Iām glad I managed to have Connor become deviant while having a stable friendship with Hank and 3. Kara wasnāt as lucky in my playthrough. She ended up in a camp with Alice, while Luther had died at Roseās house. The camps and their obvious references to world war 2 were devastating to see them go through, as someone who has learned about these events multiple times throughout my school life and who has visited two of the camps that still stand as memorials, reminders and informative sites due to the fact that Iām German, seeing Kara and Alice be stripped of their identity and forced to look less/not human to be degraded and most likely easier to kill, seeing the lifeless bodies being loaded onto trucks, seeing the two of them stand in these lines without any clothes despite Alice already freezing during winter, Kara trying desperately to get back to Alice while having to obey the guards enough to not get killed on-sight before theyād both be forced to walk into the machine and end up dead anyway together. It was a cruel thing to watch and a tragic way to end their story. Iām very happy with my first endings though, because this may be one of the most intriguing ways this game could end for me, Iām definitely gonna replay some of it to see some alternative endings though, for example RK-900 didnāt appear at all in my game, didnāt even know that was possible and Kara, Alice and Luther deserve their happy ending in Canada being a family of three, I really hope thatāll be possible on my next attempt
I just finished Detroit Become Human for the first time and Iām in desperate need to talk about it
I just watched A Piece of the Action and Kirk was playing his role and getting into the slang wayyyy too enthusiasticallyš¦«/pos
I also love Scotty getting in on it a bit and Kirk keeping to send hints to Spock and set him up for slang replies and Spock just not catching on correctly except for once
They were having way too much fun with this mission, it was such a fun watch
!BBC SHERLOCK SPOILERS!
(can you hide images on this site in case of spoilers? In this case itās a bit too vague to be seriously concerning I think but stillš§āāļø)
This finale is absolutely crazy
This is Sidney Paget (as you said)
This is Walter Paget, his older brother
And these are some of Sidney Pagetās illustrations of Sherlock Holmes
So while Sherlock may have some resemblance with Sidney too, his design is said to mostly be based off Pagetās older brother
I think at the end of the day some of his own features probably ended up mixing their way into his drawings even if he technically wanted to base him off Walter lol
why are we letting Sidney pagetās drawings influence us so much. He was literally just drawing himself as Holmes
He just did a shit ton of self portraits man
big fan of characters who have it all under control when theyre put in situations but no idea how to be like a regular guy doing regular stuff when all is said and done.
Hello everyone, I am having to prepare to write a speech for my literature class concerning the quality of movie adaptations of novels. So I wanted to ask: Do you guys have any adapted scenes that you found remarkable in some way? Preferably a good one, but bad examples are welcome too of courseš«”
Maybe a scene from Arthur Conan Doyleās canon that often gets left out but you find important? Or a scene that you thought a certain adaptation absolutely nailed or really just butchered? I am specifically referring to specific scenes here and *not* to overall seriesā or movies. Please do tell me about what you find remarkable in relation to the original novels, I would really appreciate any help with this as Iād started to look for examples a bit late so I only have today and tomorrow to gather themš§āāļø
This doesnāt have to concern Sherlock Holmes, it can also be about Harry Potter, etc., anything really, I just used that as an example since I plan on using Holmes as a reference/example for my thesis anyway.
Fast replies would be much appreciated, as I donāt really have any idea where to even start right now :,)
I reaaaallly wanna know what they'll be doing for Mycroft, I'm patiently awaiting his eventual introduction š
Can't wait for Sherlock & Co's adaptation of The Greek Interpreter, because the Bitch Fitā¢ļø John's gonna throw when he finds out that Sherlock has a brother will simply be Glorious
