Personally I'm not 100% sure on Jack. There are no wolves in the Lion King! The only thing I can think of is the big bad wolf from fairytales like little red riding hood, the three little pigs, and the boy who cried wolf.

Jack isn't based from the Lion King, seeing as he doesn't even come from the same place that Ruggie and Leona do. I don't think he's based on the wolves from traditional fairytales either, since all the characters are from specific disney movies (although there is room to argue he might have been based on the big bad wolf from disney's adaptations of said fairytales, I still think it's unlikely considering Jack's personality).

there's this post that I agree with regarding Jack's origins, but there's some other things I'd like to add to it!

if you take a look at Jack's wiki page, you'll find that "Jack seemingly has no correlation to any character from the Lion King franchise." and that "He may be named after Jack London, author of the novel White Fang, about a wild white wolfdog. Walt Disney Pictures produced a film based on the novel."

in the post I linked above, there's also mention of another of Jack London's novel's adaptations made by disney, The Call of the Wild, which also includes wolves living in a snowy enviroment. I think it's pretty safe to say these two movies are the major inspirations for him!

but there's more, too. like some other characters, I feel that Jack has more than one inspo! especially considering how these two movies he seems to be based on break the previous pattern of animation classics that consist of disney's most remembered movies, since they are live action and I don't think many people know them.

there's is some base to say he might be from Frozen's wolves, too, but I don't think that's very likely since Frozen is a more recent movie. I don't think he comes from Jungle Book's wolves either, as they aren't antagonists and Jack comes from a cold enviroment, not a jungle.

what I do think he comes from is Beauty and The Beast! like his character fact sheet mentions, he comes from the same place as Vargas, and since this movie is one classic I think it's likely there's a bit of inspiration for him on these wolves too! the wolves here have more of an antagonistic role too, justifying why he's on a villain's school despite being. well. Jack.

so while he most likely is twisted from Jack London's novels adaptations, there might be some of Beauty and the Beast on him too!

at this point, twst is just seeing the fandom burn trying to figure it out who some of the characters are inspired from and every dorm is a amalgamation of how references have no limit whatsoever

fr they could have just put the inspo for each character on the site or something but noooo they like to see the chaos in the fandom

tho with some having more than one possible reference it's very funny to see which theories we can come up with !!

when you first complained about wanting to pierce your ears, jade offered to do it for you. immediately, you shot him down. it would be stupid of you to accept an offer from jade leech of all people to pierce your ears. the possibilities were endless. he could pierce the wrong part of your ear. he could end up making too big of a hole. he could make too small of a hole. you knew none of the staff would be impressed to see you walk in to the infirmary with your ears in dire need of first aid. however, you seemed to underestimate jade’s persuasive skills. that was your biggest and most costly oversight.

since, before you knew it, you were sitting in front of jade, after hours at monstro lounge, as he was readying himself to pierce your eyes. “are you sure you can do this?” you nervously asked as you watched him slip a pair of latex gloves on. at least he acted like a professional piercer.

Here is a group pic of Maleficent's goons. I think that one is Sebek's inspiration. Although I still think the lightening factors in somehow too.

oh I just remembered the pig looking ones!! also they look so goofy lmao

the croc one could definetely be part of the inspo!! tho I think the lightning is the most prominent aspect used for his character, it would surely explain where the whole half crocodile fae thing came from without getting Tick Tock involved!!

I personally see him more as the White Rabbit, even tho I can see him as the Caterpillar with the whole "representing changes" stuff and the "Cater(pillar)". I thiiink I might have seen somewhere Cater was supposed to be a rabbit beastman in one of his earlier designs but I can't find anything about it so maybe I hallucinated it lmao

i swear sebek has to be something from sleeping beauty but i could never figure it out, i’ll partially accept tick tick croc but it’s a different movie so i’m aaaa

as one of the anons mentioned, Sebek might be twisted from Maleficent's lightning ray (and seeing as Epel also is not based on a character, it could be right)! but I'll still think about Tick Tock because. croc.

I mean hey silver is probably a mix of not only aurora but the sword that took down Maleficent (jusding by how his coffin & candy symbol is a sword),so anything is possible, hell hes even named after the think that can weaken / kill fae

Can I just say I love the fact Epel is supposed to be the poisoned apple? Like most characters are based on the villains or the henchmen or at least a person you could say. And then there is Epel who is supposed to be the an apple. Poisonous but still just an apple (this does not make me love him any less just think it's funny)

Also his UM fits perfectly and I love it so much

there's one time at the end of chapter 5 when Vil outright call him a poisoned apple that was so funny

Hello the Anon who also didn't know why Grims name was Grim. Random thing about twisted did you know Kalim is supposed to be the sultan from Aladdin? Found out about this on a random YouTube comment a couple months ago and I can't let this go-

this one I did know! tho at the beggining I was very confused on whether Kalim was supposed to be Aladdin, Jasmine, the Sultan or a mix of these, since he's got some traits from all of them. seeing as Jamil is based of Jafar it was easier to get it, especially since on chapter 4 Jamil hypnotizes him to overthrow him just like Jafar was doing to the Sultan!

although there are some characters I'm still not sure about...

yes I'm aware the Heartslabyul students are the card soldiers, as it's pretty obvious, but they also can represent other characters I think. Trey is the Mad Hatter and Cater the White Rabbit, but I'm not sure who Ace and Deuce would be.

Ortho kinda reminds me of Pinocchio, especially on the Wish Upon a Star Event, but I'm not sure who from Hercules he's supposed to be (that might be because I've never watched the movie before lmao the greek mythology obsessed kid inside me would not let Hades get disrespected like that)

Sebek reminds me of Tick-Tock from Peter Pan lol I'm not sure who he's supposed to be either. Lilia is a bit like the three good fairies bc he takes Silver in and treats him like his own son, but I'm also not sure if he's supposed to be twisted from them or not?

and lastly, Crowley himself. is he... even based on anyone? is this common knowledge and I'm just out of the loop? I truly have no idea

The Butler Types (Jade/MC/Barbatos)

Jade has no fears. What is it? There's a demon butler visiting NRC? Jade has one fear.

I'm bitter because it's my birthday and Halloween Jade refuses to come, so I'll celebrate it with the better butler boy. *glares at Jade*

Jade is not one for fear.

Sure, he has his fair share of them. One simply does not grow up in Coral Sea without developing some. But one also simply does not grow in Coral Sea without losing some.

So Jade isn't one for fear.

But why does it have to be a butler type?

Jade can only watch, eye twitching in a nervous tic he got from Azul, as his crush ogles at the demon butler in front of her, hanging at his every word and blushing under his gaze.

His name is Barbatos, he is the loyal butler of Lord Diavolo, the Crown Prince of Devildom and the Headmaster of the Royal Academy of Diavolo, one of the few schools that might be older than NRC and even Crowley himself.

And he's exactly (Y/N)'s type.

A good looking, devilish butler with a gentle appearance and behavior who hides something darker and dangerous behind his tea brewing skills and overall otherworldly excellence? Big hell yes from her.

Why does Jade know that? Jade knows everything he possibly can about his crush, including the knowledge that he is exactly her type.

Or, at least, he's the closest anyone at NRC can get to her type.

He understandably did not account for possible visits from the Devildom, a Kingdom that has kept to itself for most, if not all, of its existence, and now he's paying the price. Floyd, the menace, is having a field day, watching from the bench they share as his other half gets more and more agitated while the demon charms Shrimpy.

"Oh, I'm sorry, am I holding you up? You must be busy with Lord Diavolo– I mean, with helping Lord Diavolo," Jade feels like eating glass at the enamoured look (Y/N) sends the demon, clearly not wanting to part but also not wanting to be rude.

"No need to worry, my lady, the Young Lord has given me some free time while he speaks with Lord Crowley," Barbatos gives her a smile the eel just knows is making her legs weak. "And I'm enjoying your company very much."

Barbatos is particularly hateful because he's actually being nice. His niceness is inherent, not trained like Jade's. And the eel can tell the Prefect can tell, she's good at judging one's character. It's one of the reasons why they get along so well, she can tell when Jade is being genuine or not, a skill very few have.

If only that skill wasn't helping the green haired demon get closer to her.

"O–oh, I see..." The girl places her hands on her burning cheeks, and Jade feels another bitter sting. That is his face, that's the face only he can get from her when he compliments her. "Thank you for your kind words."

"All of them true, I assure you."

"Oh, stop it, I'm already blushing."

"It was not my intention to make you uncomfortable, my lady, but... I must admit you look very lovable," Barbatos offers a hand to her, one she shyly takes, only to then squeak when he places a soft kiss on the back of her hand. "Please, allow me to be selfish and keep you by my side for a few more moments."

Enough.

Jade walks so fast, it almost feels like he's swimming through the air. Floyd's loud laugh follows him like a predator, together with a playful "go get'em, tiger shark". As soon as he reaches the duo, he takes a silent deep breath, making sure his usual smile is on his face as he takes (Y/N)'s other hand, a privilege he earned, and brings it to his chest, right on his beating heart

"There you are, Prefect. I've been looking for you."

"J–Jade!" The eel is more than please to see her eyes completely leave the other to focus solely on him, the blush on her pretty face now all his.

When he looks up, mismatched eyes meet green eyes, and he can tell Barbatos has been fully aware of his presence from the very beginning. A sharp—quite literally—smile forms on his face at the annoyance in the other's eyes.

Ah, the greed of a servant who finally found something they want to be selfish about.

Would be entertaining if what the demon wanted wasn't Jade's already.
