Please consider watching The Expanse. Just… trust me on this.
complex and relatable characters
A+ worldbuilding
no cliché good vs. evil setup, just humans with different agendas and varying shades of morality
VERY diverse cast
relevant commentary to many social/environmental/etc. issues of our time (but not in a preachy way)
scientifically accurate as fuck (mostly)
no silly looking aliens (of course this is a drawback if you like those)
visually gorgeous
awesomest spaceships ever (I may be a little biased tho)
based on a book series so the show writers know where the fuck they’re going with the plot (and believe me there’s some mindblowing stuff coming up)
Shohreh Aghdashloo as the Deputy Undersecretary of the United Nations Chrisjen Avasarala is a fucking delight
You can watch the first two seasons on Amazon Prime (US), CraveTV (Canada), and Netflix (rest of the world).
Season 3 is currently airing on Syfy (US) and Space (Canada).
I know some of you may have second thoughts because Syfy has a reputation of making garbage but honestly this is a really fucking excellent show and 100% worth your time.
Some Into The Badlands gifs. If you use some, I ask that you give me credit. Thank you and Save The Badlands. Love from @SaveTheBadlands Twitter.
In the Silmarillion and Tales of the First Age Sauron was a being of Valinor perverted to the service of the Enemy [Melkor] and becoming his chief captain and servant. He repents in fear when the First Enemy is utterly defeated, but in the end does not do as was commanded, return to the judgement of the gods. He lingers in Middle-earth. Very slowly, beginning with fair motives: the reorganising and rehabilitation of the ruin of Middle-earth, 'neglected by the gods', he becomes a reincarnation of Evil, and a thing lusting for Complete Power – and so consumed ever more fiercely with hate (especially of gods and Elves). — J.R.R Tolkien, in his letters.

The First Picture of a Black Hole in History !
The global project “Event Horizon Telescope” (EHT) was focusing on two black holes through several worldwide-spanning radio telescopes over years. Finally, it could make this picture from an ultra-massive black hole from the galaxy Messier 87. It is the first time humankind could make a picture from a black hole. This achievement is comparible only with the historical moment of moon landing.
Naomi Nagata experiences atmosphere for the first time. What I love about this scene most of all isn’t her only falling or seeing a blue sky for the first time but James holding Amos back from helping her because he knew he’d be the first to do so.
She looks back at him like saying, “I got this, I can hold my own,” and his smile saying, “I know babe,” I was weeping like a baby.
This is the franchise. This is the blog.
Edit: for some reason, the gif won't work. 😭
Our High King loves Josh, and for the first time she admits to herself that sometimes love is everything, so sacrifices have to be made. She has done her part to save Eliot, and he wouldn't expect any less from her. Be free, Margo! Love merrily; you're allowed to regardless of what the fans say or want or think. 🙏🏻❤️
WANT!
