The wildest thing about soukoku is people asking left and right "is that canon?" And then it being canon.

Like what do you mean Dazai pushed chuuya into his lap after they both risked their lives knowing the other would save them? What do you mean Dazai admited 3 times that for his 7 years of knowing Chuuya, he thinks about Chuuya when he's bored. What do you mean they're confirmed soulmates? What do you mean Dazai put saving the entire world on hold just so Chuuya could have the choice of finding out if he's human or not? What do you mean after everything, Dazai believes with his entire being that Chuuya is human? What do you mean that the reason he waited to escape from the mafia dungeon was so he could tease Chuuya and make him do something embarrassing to celebrate their reunion? What do you mean in an alternate universe they escape the mafia together?

But yeah, soukoku isn't canon guys.

People who insist that they can see Chuuya having a thing for Dazai at 15 or in dark era and Dazai being uninterested are so odd to me like, bruh, Chuuya legit disliked Dazai at 16 and Dazai was in his worst state mentally during Dark era. If anything Chuuya is more likely to like him as a person now with how much value Dazai puts in life. And Dazai has been obsessed with Chuuya since day 1.
