Article 13 is going into it’s final stages of voting. 

If this gets through, it will allow many, many companies to abuse and misuse this article to take down as many memes, fan works, and even other independent creators on sites like YouTube, Facebook, and other websites INCLUDING Tumblr. 

THE FAIR USE LAW AND SAFEHARBOR LAW WILL NO LONGER APPLY IN THE U.S OR IN OTHER COUNTRIES. 

IT HAS ALREADY PASSED IN SEVERAL OTHER COUNTRIES. 

WE CANNOT ALLOW THEM TO TAKE AWAY WHAT WE BUILT FOR THE INTERNET SO FAR. 

So here is what you need to do to drag this article down. 

1. Spread the word 

I can’t stress this enough. The more attention this gets the more people we can get to take this down. 

2. Make your own content 

Make your own content on the matter and make sure it is clear to others that Article 13 is bad for every internet user involved. 

3. If you live anywhere in Europe, contact your MEPs 

Ask them if they approve of the article and why. If they do approve of it, try to convince them in a clear, reasonable, and most sensible way possible that this law is BAD. 

The article itself is way to vague about what it’s conveying to its people. 

Saying that as long as the use of said internet memes or content is good as long as it’s in “good faith.” 

We cannot let some shoddy government tell us what we can and cannot post.

Hello, there’s been some unfortunate news.

Hi, Bepis-Boii speaking.  Over the past week, I got the crushing news from someone in my inner circle of in real life friends that one of my closest acquaintances, someone I had worked closely, and who helped me with inspiration for this project had taken his own life on Dec. 29th, 2020. I’ve only found out about it five days ago. I was and still am incredibly devastated by his death. He was such a lovable teddy bear, talented person, and overall jokester that when I initially heard about this I thought that it was just another one of his pranks, even when I got to go see his body one last time during his visitation, but no. It was all too real. He was gone and there was nothing I could do about it. I wish I got to properly say goodbye to him or at the very least hugged him before we went our separate ways. But I can’t take that back now. I’ve been going through it a lot this past week and because of that, for the sake of my mental health, I unfortunately have to delay the webcomic just a little bit longer. Not by a lot, but enough so I and my friends can grieve for my friend. Right now, I cannot work in this mental state. I hope you all understand. If anything, I want everyone to know one important thing out of this story. Don’t take your loved ones for granted. If you haven’t talked to person in a while, please talk to them. They’ll really thank you for it one day. You’ll never know how much they meant to you until they’re gone forever. Don’t forget that. And of course… if you, a loved one, or anyone else you know are going through a hard time, have suicidal thoughts, or just need someone to talk to.

I don’t live in Europe but I’m very concerned for you guys regarding article 13, has it already passed? If not, is there anything I can do to help?

To my knowledge, no. It has not passed. And you can help by going to change.org! There’s a big petition about taking down article 13 right now and there should be a link of it in my original post on the matter. If the link doesn’t work, try searching it manually.
