i've never had such fake, shallow friendships as i have with white, liberal, "queer" friends. people i've supposedly been close with for years consistently left me on read when i texted them at 4am in hospital scared and alone with critically low sats because they didn't have the energy for emotional labour. you have to ask to vent, respect triggers, never ever traumadump, so real conversations are difficult because nobody wants to complain - unless, of course, it's related to identity somehow - you can say you had a bad day because your teacher is transphobic, but not because you had an argument at home or threw up or just didn't feel well - none of it comes from genuine concern but instead the rules and norms within your online community. constant reassurance, validation, knowing there's no possibility of a nuanced discussion on anything other than your approved safe topics. attempts at open communication feel sanitized and are laced with therapy-speak, not reflecting real human emotions, but "i sincerely apologize for crossing your boundaries" because it's ideologically wrong, the undertone is 'please don't make a callout on me', not 'i'm sorry', abuse and manipulation are wrong because they get you ostracised and put on blast publicly by your friendship group so any little disagreement comes with a flurry of reassurance that you aren't an abuser, and they still call you they/them behind your back, they still ask your other friends what they think of your opinion on ace discourse, have you crossed the line yet, can we cut you out yet, it's so fucking tiring and there's no space for real connection or humanity in all of it

I'm just gonna make a small note here that I read this woman's previous webcomic when I was 16-19, looking for sex ed entering my first relationship, I started reading it religiously for advice on everything from handjobs to anal to bondage. It had no small part in leading right into the deep end of fetish and the fetish community.

Why does addressing the stigma against STDs have to mean presenting them as No Big Deal? The conflation of sex education with How To Fuck manuals for kids is a disturbing development. More needs to be done to give young people helpful information about their bodies and sexuality without veering into casual exposure to adult sexuality. Also, content should be better streamlined towards distinct age groups, with young babies being protected from more mature themes. And trans people, particularly white transwomen, being hyper-represented when they make up a tiny portion of the population is a disturbing bias.

But like we could and should be able to according to TRA logic. Under some ideas of gender/sex dysphoria, they're totally separate.

See the genderbread person: gender, sex, expression, identity, all seperate. So I really don't get how it's totally fine for a female to have sex dysphoria in a cis male way, but not in a trans identified male way.

Just thinking about the recent Her app homophobic meltdown and that poll that was going around showing that most radblr lesbians are single... It might actually be time to build something like the radblr dating service that was joked about in the comments of that poll.  Like its funny as a joke, but the more this goes on the more it feels genuinely needed. Even just adding a “open to ___” (flirting dating etc) role on some of these existing discords could work. Like we can’t just openly post thirst traps to each other on tumblr without fear of doxxing. But yeah, Im just worried that most of us have become kinda apathetic about the State of Things and don’t wanna try. Maybe a good chunk of it is just being comfortable alone? Tomorrow is national grilled cheese day, if anyone needed an excuse to try this

Been making grilled cheese with drippings instead of mayo lately. 10/10 experience. Whenever you drain meat while cooking something else, pour the excess fat into a container, label it with what spices etc are with it, and freeze. Chisel off small chunks and use in place of butter or oil in a frying pan for extra savory goodness. I used meatloaf mix drippings today (beef/pork mix, onion powder) and it added some nice pizzazz 🧀🍞

Jenny Nicholson might be the closest I've ever seen. Her content is much more niche, but her content has that jokey carefree vibe. She's probably more low energy than a male in her same genre, but that doesn't get in the way of the comedy usually. She'll also just pick topics that are very silly in nature. (like for instance a chronicles of a road trip to acquire a giant spider plush)

Another component of, a lot for adult women are boring.
