platforming palestinian joy is just as important as sharing the suffering they're enduring during this genocide. despite continued displacement and bombardment, you cannot steal their joy and spirit. happy birthday to this sweet baby π€π΅πΈ may they grow up to see a free palestine
there is something horrifically grim to it, but illustrations for gaza and palestinians tend to catch more mass attention that actual photos of people. this made me feel incredibly helpless for a long while, seeing both how people would rather look at a neat drawing of red black green and white than lookοΏΌ a human in the eyes, and how online platforms would rather push a viral drawing while suppressing those begging for help at the same time.
a way to cope with this feeling has been taking advantage of it to directly guide people to helping palestinians.
if art gets better traction, then thereβs an incredible amount of good that can be done by creating art that immediately links to fundraisers. creating art of the many images of those who are asking for help.
within hours of posting my drawing, there has been jumps in the thousands for bashar from gazaβs fundraiser. itβs a small effort in the grand scheme of things. itβs not a fix it. but itβs something good. please take care of each other and do what you can. i think this could help a lot of people if a lot of people did it.

I want a story about a king whose son is prophesied to kill him so the king is like βwhatever what am I supposed to do, kill my own kid wtf is wrong with youβ so he just raises him as normal, doesnβt even tell him about the prophecy, and instead of some convoluted twist of events that leads to the kingβs murder the son grows up and when the king is very old and dying and in excruciating pain the kid is just like alright I'mma put him out of his misery.

Growing up as a poc one thing you start to realize is that your parents or grandparents are not only a product of their trauma but genuinely believe that what they experience was ok/normal
Becuase they saw a certain action or were at the end of a certain action they either conditioned themselves to think it was normal or conditioned themselves so their kids never experience that
But bc itβs yk trauma they do it unconventional ways that end up hurting more then helping
Think itβs normal: Ming treated Mei the way she did because that how she was treated. It was the constant pressure of being normal that caused her to hurt her mom in her teen. Instead of addressing it she locked it up and let it fester.
Kids never experience it: Alma went through so much as a young widower that she clung onto her saving grace, the miracle. She did everything she could( protecting the candle at all cost, giving Isabela the perfect marriage) because she didnβt want her family to suffer the same life altering trauma she did
Both had love and care for their family but the way they went about it caused more hurt and harm then good
Edit: Guess I have to say this but this doesnβt apply to abusive parents. The difference is Ming and Alma LISTENED, APOLOGIZED, and worked towards FIXING their mistakes.

Hi everyone, itβs Bisan from Gaza, I am still alive Alhamdullah.. itβs been 107 days of genocide, 15 weeks, 2568 hours of killing us, taking over our homes and lands in Gaza Strip, and forcing us to choose between leaving or death.. and sometimes we canβt even choose.. the Israeli air strikes simply kill us without any warnings. We take hours of walking and searching to reach someone, while moving became very risky! We canβt reach to you as well! The footage, information and news from Gaza are not reaching you as before because the Israeli army intentionally destroyers the signal towers and the servers, even using the E-SIM requires being in a high place which is very risky!. I borrowed this vest to upload this post! I am not scared of death, but of being displaced, scared of losing my family or friends, scared of being wounded and canβt have my treatment because the health system is collapsed in Gaza, and to die in pain! I am not scared of the destruction.. I lost my work place.. my home and my family work place and source of income, I am terrified of being killed by an occupier, and to be forgotten, one oppressed Bisan of a whole occupied people. The strongest governments and weapons manufacturers are supporting this genocide against my people, and you are our only hope! STRIKE globally and call for a ceasefire! Why? No one wants to admit it. Theyβre all stubborn, petty siblings. And if thereβs one thing siblings hate, itβs always being compared to the other. They all spent the first half of their lives trying to live upto Dick, to be him and then spent their latter halves living as far apart.
The first time, Tim lets it slip to Jason is when they were at a warehouse, Jason checking in on everyone over the comms after a vicious gang takedown, and the amount of concern and checking up he was doing made a half-conscious and definitely concussed Tim blurt out: Youβre such a Dick.
The horrified pause that followed before Jason clicked off was enough to make Tim realise the extent of damage heβd done. Red Hood spends the next two months gunfighting, taking over the underworld and dealing in shady illegal hands before he even shows up to the mansion again.
Tim got his karma though. He was entertaining people at the gala as Timothy Drake, wooing suitors and investors, turning on the charm and rizz that left everyone swooning over him and completely enamoured. Heβs trying to manipulate them to donate millions to a good cause, maybe make a few powerful connections he could use when he laughs, disentangles from the crowd and gives a charismatic wink to his followers.
He pauses, refilling his drink when he hears the disapproving tut from the shadows.
βWhat do you want Damian.β
βDrake. What are you doing?β

Dick, god bless him, has no idea. He genuinely thinks that theyβre fighting and the insults just get to them. However, heβs still confused why when he goes to check on them they refuse to make eye contact with him, and then disappear off the face of the planet.
