What camera do you use/recommend ? I want to get more into photography but don’t want to spend a ton of money
I recommend your phone camera. It can take wonderful pictures with enough effort. And cheap cameras can be good, but in my experience, not very often. My phone has taken much better ones than any cheap one I have used.
The ones I use are my phone’s camera (Samsung Galaxy 7) and a Nikon D7000. It was not cheap, and was a once-in-a-lifetime gift that I treasure deeply. If you truly enjoy and want to take photography seriously, it is worth it to save up for a Canon DSLR or Nikon DSLR camera. Their quality is astounding and flexible and you can purchase lenses that are built for macro, close, moderate, or far zooming capabilities.
If you cannot save up for one (which is completely fine), download some photo-editing apps on your device or use programs on your laptop or PC. They are both fun to use and also can transform your photos! I use Aviary Photo Editor, PhotoShop Elements 2019, and Pixlr (Aviary and Pixlr are available on mobile app stores). I have heard GIMP is also good for editing too! Aviary, GIMP, and Pixlr are all free. And there is a PhotoShop light edition for mobile (though I personally find it dissatisfactory).
Experiment! It takes time, but once you find a program that you like and have the hang of, photography is an even more fun experience than just taking pictures. And experiment with the way you take photos too! Take them from different angles, find subjects you like, and watch tutorials to help you grow.
I wish you the best! Thank you for asking me for advice.
