oooh they didn't know. they didn't know. cas walked into that barn and they had no idea their lives would change forvever. dean was just a mission to complete. cas was just another monster to kill. and instead they weaved their way into each other's lives and became each other's first best friends. they became family. the love of each other's life. and they had no idea.

Watching season 15 is a different kind of pain. In a typical season when a major character died you had a 85% chance they would come back at some point, but not in season 15. Sam stabbing Rowena and saying a heart felt goodbye, but it’s fine she’ll probably come bac- oh shit there’s only 17 episodes left. Cas confessing his love for dean and then being engulfed by the empty, but it doesn’t matter cause just imagine how cute their reunion will be when Dean gets him bac- oh shit there’s only 2 episodes left??? Fuck dean just got impaled on a piece of rebar but there’s no way he dies he’s one of the main characte- wait there’s only 20 minutes left. Sam’s dying peacefully with his son after living a life where he has to remember dean for longer then he lived with him, but that’s fine I’m sure they’ll fix it next seas- there’s 5 minutes left….

There’s nothing like being with someone while they watch the dean/cas crypt scene for the first time. Cause if you had been telling yourself you were imagining destiel up to that point it feels like dean saying ‘I need you’ is basically the equivalent of him throwing cas up against the wall and kissing him until they can’t breathe.

Do you think if Sam and Dean never broke all those mirrors while fighting Bloody Mary in season 1 then all the bad shit that happens in seasons 2-15 never woulda happened

rewatching supernatural is so fun because. why would you put yourself through that torture again. but it is so comforting. like this show is insane and gay and sexy and agonizing and homosexual and erotic and deeply upsetting. but it’s just. so good.

i also think dean would get extremely weird about a temporary femcas vessel and NO ONE would enjoy it. i think by season. 10? 11? he would immediately bump cas into nonsexual platonic little sister territory even if it's a 40 year old woman. and he would resist all of cas's attempts to remind him that nothing has materially changed and he's the same person with "yeah but it's different." "how." "y'know." bad for hopeless romantic eternal optimist cas who is like. well maybe.... if it was ever going to happen this would be when...... because he is immediately shuttled into NOT SEXUALLY AVAILABLE by dean because (thought that cas has) he is SUCH a non prospect for dean in all ways shapes and forms. bad for dean who is dealing with the ever faster creeping realization that he might be gay for real.
