I honestly find it very difficult to hate characters. It’s weird to watch people get angry about a character because they are easily scared, irritable, or make mistakes. They have their reasons to be like that, it’s human, but so many people jump to hoping they die or just being aggressive about them in general. It borders elitism and is usually targeted towards kids, like Duck for instance. People were glad a kid died. I just don’t get how people can survive acting like this, it’s vile.

Not weak, but any people who put any danger to other people is kinda need to be you know...give some guidance....and if that is not work, is need to be lock away or put down...

I personally can’t justify killing Tenn. Louis and Violet choose to help him, it’s better to not interfere. Also the fact that they later paint it as justified becaue he was a “liability” and “lived in a fantasy world” is annoying because it seems like they are implying that the “weak” should die.

I feel guilty for this because a lot of people love him, but i have honestly never liked James. don’t get me wrong, i’m really grateful for his help. but as Clementine said, his morals were dangerous and it annoyed me how he pushed them on us. so many people could have potentially gotten killed/injured if AJ didn’t do what he did. James was to out of touch with reality it was… scary. which makes me glad he didn’t come back to the school with us. also, i can’t believe he tried to take AJ from us?

Reflection on Attack on Titan: how the narrative failed its premise

I apologize for dwelling so much on something I no longer like with Attack on Titan, it’s just such a fascinating trainwreck, even though I hopped off the train just in time I have to look back at it periodically and be horrified yet morbidly reflective. I do find it disturbing people are denying the imperialist subtext here because it barely qualifies as subtext anymore at this point, so I do think noting it is valuable as long as fandom continues to be denial.

I just keep wondering at myself why I was drawn to AOT in the first place and HOW I didn’t see this coming- I think reflecting on that is valuable so I’ll see the warning signs earlier with other media.

It also helps me consider what makes a good narrative and what elements can appear compelling only to be squandered.

Because honestly, there WAS so much potential there, and though it’s a struggle, I CAN remember what excited me about it. There was a good horror concept here. It really did make me feel what the terror would be, to have this unknowable, ravenous threat that could so easily wipe out everything, to have to trap yourself to avoid it. The huge walls, the striking visuals, the displays of human weakness and terror, the visceral aspect of it all- it was compelling stuff. And also importantly, it kind of rode that line where it was very easy to laugh at as well- the memes involving the titans were a TON of fun in the heyday of AOT, the bizarre way the various ones were drawn were so funny, the peak melodrama of the situation was so absurd it almost made fun of itself, especially with all the exaggerated expressions- the fandom had a lot of fun with it.

And the concept COULD have gone somewhere that was compelling, rather than boring fascist nonsense. While the components of fascist narrative were present from the beginning- a grotesque invading threat the military, the protags, as heroes, must fight- there was potential in the premise for all that to be subverted, for it to ultimately go somewhere not fascist. The Titans turning out to be fellow humans, even your former loved ones, could have been more than a footnote. 

The titans actually being people only ended up mattering in the sense of “this shows us the REAL threat is this other race that trapped us here and in fact we must use the titans to defeat them”. It didn’t ultimately change the characters or their ideals, it just made them change enemies (to a much, much more boring threat and narrative). But it COULD have been a game changer that shook the characters to their core. A very natural place for this revelation to lead would have been “it turns out there is no clear enemy. We’ve been fighting ourselves this whole time. We thought we were killing something monstrous, but it wasn’t, it was the people we love. We were used. Now what do we do?”  It could have been a story of the characters struggling to answer that question. How can they seek freedom now? 

And if you really want a “dismantle the corrupt government” plotline, it would be a much simpler and stronger narrative if it was simply about the government pushing for Titan extermination despite the revelation, because they prioritized their own safety above all else and also wanted to erase past mistakes.

What if the Titans had simply been the result of horrific human experimentation done in the past and the government just wanted to cover it up? That’s it. no other countries, no emphasis on royal bloodlines or magic amnesia or any other convoluted bullshit. The reason people responded to Attack on Titan was NOT because they love convoluted royal drama or covoluted wars between opposing countries, that was not even a factor in the beginning…it was because it touched on this very simple, visceral thrill, so the story needed to keep being simple and visceral.

 The final struggle of the narrative, the key to freedom, could have been the characters having the re-evaluate their worldviews and the character having to struggle to find an alternate method to deal with the titans while society goes against them for doing so. 

The survey corps is disbanded. Eren, who could only deal with his grief by focusing on obliterating a clear enemy, now doesn’t have that and is forced to actually grow as a character. He has to actually confront his guilt and the fact his desire to construct an inhuman opponent he could fight was all so he didn’t have to deal with survivors guilt, because he wanted something that was black and white with no messy emotions attached. but it turns out nothing ever is that simple.

Or hey, maybe there’s something more compelling and less predictable you could do to subvert the fascist elements. I’m only doing this off the top of my head, there are probably a million ways the story could go in a more interesting direction than the shitstorm we got if someone actually focused and creative puts their mind to it.

Pictured above: 27 year-old Kierra Coles, who was three months pregnant when she vanished on October 3rd, 2018. The above surveillance image is the last known sighting of the young woman.

Kierra worked for the U.S. Postal Service. However, on the day of her disappearance, she called out sick. Surveillance cameras later captured Kierra walking away from her Chicago apartment wearing her U.S. Postal Service uniform, despite the fact that she’d already called out of work. She was seen walking down 82nd Street and Coles Avenue, passing her car, before eventually stepping out of the frame. Kierra has never been seen or heard from again. She was reported missing by her mother a few days later.

Police conducted a welfare check at Kierra’s apartment, but found no sign of her. Kierra’s car was still parked outside of the apartment, and her cell phone, wallet, and packed lunch were found inside the vehicle. Investigators quickly began to believe that foul play was responsible for Kierra’s disappearance. In fact, detectives working the case have stated that they “have a pretty good idea” of what happened to Kierra. Still, they have revealed very few details about the investigation and no arrests have been made. Investigators did state that they have persons of interest, though. One detective in particular told reporters that there are a “minimum of two or three people of interest” who were the last to see Kierra before she disappeared. The identities of the persons of interest have not been released at this time.

Kierra’s parents are still holding out hope that she will be found alive. Kierra’s father said that Kierra was looking forward to being a mother for the first time. Her due date is scheduled for April 23rd, 2019. Kierra’s family members are hoping to not only reunite with Kierra, but to meet Kierra’s baby as well. There is a $30,000 reward in place for anyone with information that could lead to Kierra’s whereabouts. If you want your character to have long hair,style it in a way that will keep it out of the way of the maneuver gear, titans, and more importantly, their face. 

Scalping themselves with the maneuver gear sounds more horrid than being eaten by a titan.

How to escape after being buried alive in a coffin.

It could happen to anyone. People bury a person alive to scare them or to get rid of them. In this situation, rely only on yourself.

Do not waste oxygen. In a classic coffin there’s only enough oxygen for about an hour, maybe two. Inhale deeply, exhale very slowly. Once inhaled - do not swallow, or you will start to hyperventilate. Do not light up lighters or matches, they will waste oxygen. Using a flashlight is allowed. Screaming increases anxiety, which causes increased heartbeat and therefore - waste of oxygen. So don’t scream.

Shake up the lid with your hands. In some cheap low-quality coffins you will be able to even make a hole (with an engagement ring or a belt buckle.)

Cross your arms over your chest, holding onto your shoulders with your hands, and pull the shirt off upward. Tie it in a knot above your head, like so: This will prevent you from suffocating when the dirt falls on your face. 

Kick the lid with your legs. In some cheap coffins the lid is broken or damaged already after being buried, due to the weight of the ground above it. 

As soon as the lid breaks, throw and move the dirt that falls through in the direction of your feet. When it takes up a lot of space, try pressing the ground to the sides of the coffin with your legs and feet. Move around a bit. 

Whatever you do - your main goal is to sit up: dirt will fill up the empty space and move to your advantage, so no matter what - do not stop and try breathing steadily and calmly. 

Get up. Remember: the dirt in the grave is very loose, so battling your way up will be easier than it seems. It’s the other way around during a rainy weather however, since water makes dirt heavy and sticky.

Okay but this is how bad 2017 was that I’m in my basement just now and a dandelion seed floats by and I’m like that’s weird, why is a dandelion seed floating right toward me in my basement where there’s no wind and in the middle of winter? And I let it fall onto my hand and stared at it for a moment before saying to it, “I’m a scientist and a very practical, down to earth person… but if you’re some kind of fairy, can you help me out, bro, and give me a better 2018?” Then I gently sent him on his way and wished him good luck. Keep your fingers crossed, people. XD

An episode from Shingeki no Kyojin “Encapture the Female Titan!” Game Book:

The game book works like a textual version of Escape from Certain Death but it’s set in the Female Titan Arc. “You” the protagonist will choose different options of actions and each of them will lead you to various results.

When you are chasing down the Female Titan with Levi and Mikasa in the Forest of Giant Trees, these two people have different opinions as to whether Eren is still alive. Now you have three options to say something to them:

“It must be painful for Levi Heishichou…” “Mikasa’s judgement is right. Heishichou is wrong about it.” “You two are alike!”

And if you go with option 3, the next scene will be: The two people turn back at you and exclaim “HOW!” simultaneously. Both of them stare at you as if feel like killing you right there…… And again it makes you think “They are indeed alike.”

Fuck anyone who says I have to forgive everyone, “for my sake.” I worked hard for this anger. I worked hard to love myself enough to hate them.

Fandom Drama

Hello everyone.

Lately, the Naruto fandom has been abuzz with some kind of conflict. An animator or something posted some lewd content that was taken down because “NARUSAKU FANS WERE SO ANGRY”. A little of it has been spilling into the NaruSaku tags and a there are many people on the outside suddenly directing their anger toward us for our actions. 

…On behalf of the NaruSaku fandom, we don’t even know what you’re talking about. No, the NaruSaku fandom didn’t get together to attack someone… somewhere about… whatever it was. 

If you haven’t noticed, the NaruSaku fandom has been peacefully quiet in our corner for years now. Most of us have no idea what is going on with Naruto, nor do we care. Although our love for NaruSaku remains, we are well rounded individuals and many of us have found other things to love. 

On behalf of the NaruSaku fandom, I ask, once again, that you leave us out of your mess.

We do not care what you are doing. We don’t care what’s happening to you. We do not want to know.  We have our own families. We have our own outfits. We have our own story lines. We even have our own smut!

You are free to do whatever you want, it really doesn’t matter to us. Just leave us alone and find a new scapegoat. To even mention NaruSaku in your fandom arguments and wars among yourselves is quite simply pathetic at this point.

NaruSaku has all but vanished from canon now, there’s nothing left. Everyone working on that series right now is not in our corner. 

Everything they make and produce is for YOU. 

To attract YOU. 

To please YOU. 

We do not matter. We have fanon to enjoy and we have been enjoying it. For years. Don’t even bother to mention us anymore.

Who created Shinachiku

Since it’s not the first time I get these kind of questions I’ll try to explain better.

⚫Short Answer:

Shinachiku is a collaborative creation of NaruSaku fandom.

⚫Long answer:

Long, long ago in the year of 2014. The name Shinachiku suddenly gained popularity, since a lot of fans thought, that Kishi wasn’t joking in the interview when he mentioned Shinachiku, as a name of future son.

Thus disappointed with the ending and having a fairly known name fans started contemplating what Shinachiku would be like.

Theories and fanart followed side by side some connecting to the same AUs

Along the years, even though some theories were disregarded, Shinachiku’s character, stories and designs developed nicely.

Now there are not a lot of active Shinachiku artists. But at it’s visible to the ¾ of the picture some of us likes to share ideas and designs back and forth.
