I was trying the Loomis method for heads after seeing the first 10 minutes of this video and I finally figured out how to draw 3/4 faces appropriately 😁

Use a sphere, chop the sides off and draw 90° guidelines onto the sides. These guidelines determine the way a character is facing.

Okay, so I tried a second time and this time I really like it 😁 (ignore the half-cut text)

I really need to try this out with water colours.

I have no idea how this turned out. I just turned off my head and drew this. Guess I could call this my current mood, lol.

Intentionally I wanted to find a motive for starting to work with watercolours. I think I could try to draw this but I guess I'll do some more sketches first 😊

Some Sketches

I've realized that I didn't post anything from my sketchbook yet 😆

I just drew a nice picture of one of my main characters Toby:

Pretty proud on that one 😁 I also put a sticker-like outline around him and it looks cool 😊

Should I post more of the sketches I did? I'll think about that later. Guess I am thrilled again to draw after taking a couple of days break 🤩

I saw this video by Shady Cicada and I was thinking like: huh, would be a cool idea if someone made a start screen for that or something. I mean that music is SOO GOOD 😍😍😍

So, I sat down at my drawing tablet and started drawing. No idea what that was, I was just going with a feeling 😁

And that's what I came up with:

I'm so proud, especially since I had no real idea what I was doing. And I still don't know what this world is about 😂 But after all, it's up to Cicada how that world turns out.

Hi, it's me again

I am currently working on a little something which I'm not sure if I'll manage to make something out of it but I'm motivated to continue.

I wanted to maybe make a one-paged small teensy tiny comic about one of my OCs. Currently, I am still working on their designs and hopefully I'll get something done this time, but I'm confident 😁

PS: I am also currently amazed by animation again. I'll keep training a little and then I can share something with you.

it's been some time since I last posted something. I really should try to get myself to post regularly. Whatever, I have a couple of pieces that I started and probably will never finish and since they already look quite decent, I'll share those with you 😀

I recently got again into the dsmp fanfiction passerine by thscus (blujamas) and drew two pieces. These are from the beginning of the story.

I originally wanted to create here a perspective from above but my habits got the better of me 😅

And here we have little Wilbur and Tommy as they meet Techno for the first time😄 I also wanted to draw this amazing background but failed due to my lack of understanding of perspective and focal points. I guess that was supposed to be a 2-point perspective but I can't get myself to figure that out right now 😂

I tried to animate again and I found a pretty decent way to organize my work folder 😀 (it still kind of ended in chaos but I'm really looking forward to animating even more stuff 😄 I want to become good 🤩)

After the last picture I drew, I wanted to draw that kind of eyes again and I think they look amazing 🤩 and it's actually quite simple to draw them like that (if you know what you are doing, of course 😂).

Trying to figure out my style and lately finally managed to play through Tears of the Kingdom, so I wanted to draw Zelda😀

I finished it 😁 After two weeks of concept, developing the character and drawing this piece, I can proudly announce that I've finished this drawing.

And I've learned soo much in the process. I'm still not sure how I got the horn that shiny but I love his yellow eye and the fire in the background.

I also integrated him into my head-canons for my story "In-Between". His name is Derag and he is a half Demon destroying one world after another. In the process of planning this piece, I took a day time to write a chapter of his story and I also got this to a point where I can call the chapter finished (maybe it's not perfect but I can still improve on writing the next one)

One tried to crawl away, even after I cut off his leg. I picked my staff out of the corpse in front of me and slowly walked towards him, "Oh, and on what kind of adventure did you want to embark on?" He was still focusing on getting away but I clearly heard his huffing become louder.

It didn't take long for me to reach him and I kicked him to the ground. He was staring at me with fear and oh, how did I love that expression. The moment when you realize that it'll be over soon. That you don't stand a chance. That you're powerless. I couldn't hold back a smile spreading on my face, "Hey, I asked you something." I ram my staff into his shoulder. He screamed, but since he was the last one, that wasn't a problem at all. I enjoyed it.

I started to spin my weapon around, digging a deep hole in his shoulder, "Honestly, if you had answered me, I might have considered ending it quickly. But now, I don't want to. That's why I'll make it painful. Because you acted rude." I fixed him on the floor by pushing my staff through and took a couple of steps back, "As you can probably imagine, I don't get many possibilities to talk to somebody. But you …"

I turned my attention back to my victim, "… You're boring." I pulled out my staff and sliced his neck. And after he stopped choking there was only calming silence left. Surprisingly, it didn't last for too long. I heard whispers coming from not too far. Were there more than these couple of people? Then why didn't I notice them earlier?! That guy's scream probably warned them! God, dammit! I need to get rid of them quickly before they manage to warn anyone!

I walked towards that direction. I was confirmed to be going in the right direction as the whispers turned into terrified screams. As I arrived at the source of the voices, I was standing before a group of young women. They pushed one of them towards me, causing her to trip and fall. One of them exclaimed, "W-We give you this sacrifice and you leave us alive!"

… I wasn't expecting that. I wouldn't have thought they would be the kind of people 'sacrificing' somebody to save their own skin. What do they think I am?! A bloodthirsty demon, who feeds on his victims? Hah! Then I realized I was still staring at the woman in front of me. She didn't even dare to look up at me. These women were not different from the men I killed earlier. I couldn't stand people like them.

I grabbed my staff and threw it towards the one who talked. The tip of the blade impaled her through her chest against a tree. The others screamed. As one tried to run away, I grabbed her by her neck and choked her to death, "You know, I hate people who abuse weaker ones to hide their own weakness." I dropped the corpse on the floor. One of them stood there terrified with that priceless expression on her face. As I walked towards her she started begging with teary eyes, "P-Please! D-Don't kill me! I-" I smashed her against a tree, causing her to drop dead.

Then I turned my attention to the woman on the floor. She still didn't move an inch and tried not to cry. I guess she was scared. Strangely, I was hesitating about what to do. Normally, I would go and make her death quick, but for some reason that felt wrong this time. Maybe it was because I witnessed how the others treated her.

I went over to the tree and pulled my staff out of the stem, causing the corpse to drop on the floor, "You know, I hate to kill women but these ones were insufferable and deserved it." I noticed how she sat up behind me. As I looked at her, she froze. It almost seemed as if she would have stopped breathing for me to not notice her. But now I was able to see her face for the first time. Her tearful face with her green eyes staring at me hopelessly.

I crouched down in front of her, "They did you pretty bad, huh?" She was still staring at me but carefully nodded. I tilted my head to the side, "Tell me, what's your name?" She answered after a couple of seconds, "A-Amelia." I smiled at her, "It's a pity, I have to kill you, Amelia. But sadly, you would go and warn others about me." I expected her to say she wouldn't and beg for her life, but she didn't. I guess she was probably the type of person to freeze in fear.

I straightened up and stretched, "But the least I can do is promise to make it short and painless." "… C-Can I ask for a last wish?!" I looked surprised at Amelia. She was just going to accept that? Not going to beg for her life? … interesting. I responded carelessly, "A wish?" She seemed to gather all her confidence to speak, "I - … I-If I h-have to … to die … Can I … Can I a-at least k-know your name?"

I burst into laughter, "Hahaha! I wasn't expecting this! You're about to be killed and your last wish is to know my name…" I crouched down and gently took her face causing her to flinch, "You don't need to waste your final wish to know my name, sweetheart. But surprisingly for all the worlds I have been in, you're the first one to ask for it. But it's not that many people would have meaningful conversations with me…"

I got up and prepared my staff to chop her head off, "My name is Derag. I also like to call myself destroyer of worlds… Do you have any last words, Amelia?" First, she stared at the floor. But then, she looked up with a smile, "M-Maybe we meet again in another life, Derag." How was it possible that she smiled in a situation like this? Where was that fearful face of realization when everything comes to an end?

She was … different. I wasn't used to that kind of behaviour causing me to hesitate once again. Then I swang my staff and … I stopped. She didn't move. She didn't even flinch as I was about to cut her head off. She only scrunched her face up, preparing for what came next. But I stopped before the blade reached her neck.

I didn't want to do this. Not to her. Not after she was the only person ever really talking to me. She was betrayed by the other women, gathered all of her confidence to speak to me and it should end like this? That wouldn't be fair, would it? I took my staff aside and she opened her emerald-green eyes. She even looked a little confused.

I was desperate to explain the situation, "I, sigh … Listen, I don't want to kill you, okay? But If I let you go, you'll warn the others and I cannot allow that to happen." She looked at her now-dead companions, "… I guess they would already know if I returned alone." Then she stared scared at me again. I avoided looking at her face and looked back at the corpses. If I couldn't let her go back and didn't want to kill her, then what was I supposed to do with her?

Suddenly, I had an idea, "Amelia… You were the nicest person, I've ever met. So I want to make you an offer. Normally I would kill everyone in a world and then erase it, but I could make a little exception. If you want, you can come with me, or stay in this world. It's your decision."

I reached her my hand. She looked at it with her eyes wide open. Then she looked at me again, "I … I want to go with you." She took my hand and I helped her get up. I smiled at her, "Alright. Then we should leave, Amelia. I'll have enough time to destroy this world the next time." I called out for shadow and he brought us to my world.

(And if you want to know what happened before, I don't know either 😂 Maybe I'll figure it out after some time, maybe not)

Currently WIP for a drawing competition I want to participate. The theme of the competition is 'villain'. I still need to figure out the background in more detail and then I can start the actual drawing (and yes, I still consider this as a sketch. Just a pretty detailed one.🤣)

I have also never been drawing this long on a single drawing (an entire week). Normally, I finish a drawing in a couple of hours or in half a day. Still got a week left to finish that thing😁.

This is Crea, the guardian of creation. I wanted to fit her bubbly and chaotic personality into a design and then this colorful mess got created 😉

The sticks in her hair are actually pencils which she uses to create objects out of nothing. She also likes to chew on these pencils when thinking.

Some WIP-concept I came up with for an OC. His name is Decay. He is one of the seven guardians from the "In-Between". His left arm is completely covered in decay causing him to slowly dissolve everything he touches. He is also left-handed.

Might be that I also add something more to his design, but for now, I am pretty glad to finally have something I am kind of pleased with 😊

Age: 19

Gender: human - male

Ability: code sight

Backstory

Null is actually a copy of Zero, which he unconsciously created after his love died. Since there he first was just an unheard voice in Zero's head, experiencing everything that Zero lived through. For that, he also sees Ike as a little brother to him. One day Null managed to gain control over Zero's body and used his powers to create one himself since he couldn't just keep watching how Zero acted that passively. From there on, his memories are split with Zeros. Zero didn't acknowledge him as his creation. That made Null start to care less and he went onto a rampage across the multiverse, just for his own enjoyment.

Abilities

He has the same abilities as Zero. That means that Null is able to see the world in code. He can as well summon a holographic keyboard and screens. He is also aware of Zero's technique to put code changes inside a window and attach them to the desired object to apply the code, but Null prefers to use his ability to create weapons and use them in a fight.

Appearance

His appearance is similar to Zero's just that the colours changed. He wears an armless white cloak which glows purple from the inside. He copied the fingerless gloves and the shoulder plates on his right arm from Zero's design. He is also wearing the same training outfit below just with inverted colours. The streak in front of his hair is a light purple and his left eye, which is connected with his powers, is a purple ring.

Personality

Null was suffering a lot from not being able to do anything as he was caught inside Zero's body. After he freed himself, he was curious about what he could do with his powers. He also hoped to live together with Zero and Ike but Zero didn't acknowledge him. From there on he hated the original he was made of. Due to that, he tries everything to annoy Zero in any way possible. And thanks to his perseverant soul, he is always coming up with new ideas to annoy Zero. He even takes the role of the villain and starts devasting AUs just to amuse himself with Zero's reaction. On the other hand, Null does care a lot about Ike. As well as for Zero, he sees Ike as his little brother. Null wishes nothing more than to rebuild that broken relationship between them.

Backstory

After Zero fell to the underground, he gained his strange power to see the world around him in code. Over time he befriended Monsterkind and even found a monster he fell in love with. He developed a technique to change the code of objects he is seeing. One day, his love dies due to an unknown disease. In all his grief, Zero deletes his worlds and discovers that other Aus exist. Then he creates the place he calls 'backdoors'  to have a place to stay between worlds. After some time has passed and he watched several AUs, he saw Ike accidentally destroying his own AU and being the only survivor. First, he didn't plan on interacting, but in the end, his humanity got the better of him and since then, he's taking care of Ike and acting as his older brother.

Abilities

Zero sees the world differently than others. He can see the code of objects. He can also summon a holographic keyboard and screens. He developed a technique where he would add changes to code into a window and then attach that window to a certain object to change it.

Appearance

He is wearing an armless grey cloak, which is glowing cyan from the inside. The light blue stripes on his cloak and boots glow a little in the dark. He has fingerless dark grey gloves and shoulder plates attached to his right arm. These shoulder plates are for him to defend himself in case of close combat. Below his cloak, he is wearing his training outfit. He has a cyan streak in his hair and his left eye is only a blue ring. That eye is directly connected with his powers.

Personality

Before his love died, Zero promised her to not change. Due to that and his soul trait being integrity, he kept his distance from all Aus and decided to not interact. After taking care of Ike, the boy almost forced him with his cherish mood to open up and from time to time interact with other Aus to get Ike out of trouble. By now, Ike grew like a little brother to him and Zero is more than happy to be his cool big bro.

Backstory

After Ike fell to the Underground he befriended Monsterkind. As his AU got attacked and he tried to protect his friends, Ike got heavily hurt and accidentally destroyed his AU. As he was left alone in the white void that was left of his world, Zero decided to take care of him. Since then they're living together in the 'backdoors', a place that Zero created.

Abilities

If Ike's HP drop below 5, his soul starts to glow and erases the entire AU he's currently in. He is also able to redirect energy into his fists and perform power-punches.

Appearance

Ike is wearing a striped orange shirt, blue jeans and orange sneakers. He is also wearing bandages. These bandages were given to him by the monsters before he destroyed his AU. Zero upgraded them, so they would heal him periodically.

Personality

Ike has a sunshine-like personality and always tries to be kind and cheerful. Due to his soul trait, bravery, he is still hotheaded and competitive.

I was drawing a lot in my sketchbook lately and I came up with this place. Something in between of nothing. That's why I called this the "In-Between"

(I am also working on a concept for the character in the middle, but I first need to figure out how he looks. AND I also want to get a little away from my Undertale content, since I failed AGAIN to transfer my idea in a format I would accept, I do what I can do best: start over.)

I really love how peaceful and silent this place seems. I imagine this place to be a sub-dimension in between worlds. Kind of a connecting point for those who are aware. For that, it doesn't need to have much. I decided anyways to give this dimension a guardian and him a little place to be with a little company. (Birds are cute 😊)

I finally got over my art block 😀

The key was, to draw something different than what I was struggling with. I was so frustrated and at the same time fixed on drawing the face right, that I didn't realize that I had no fun doing that. After my mother asked me why I don't draw something different than faces, I drew her a couple of trees to prove that I could draw something different. after that I continued with the trees and realized that I was missing fun while drawing. Thanks for that, mom😘

I was listening to one of my usual playlists and then I had this scene once again in my head. I thought, why not try to draw it and it turned out amazing 🤩 I really need to draw more backgrounds, it's fun. I was also able to put my perfectionsim aside for that one. It's so imperfect that it makes it perfect again.

In this picture, you see my oc Ike. Since I don't want this post to get too long, I will introduce you to his backstory another time.

Drawing is hard.

It's sooooo difficult to draw a character from three different angles and still make him look the same. I am currently worn out with digital art, so I thought I might sketch a little in my sketchbook and oh boi, I really need to learn how to draw a fave properly in 3/4 view (looks funny right now 😂)

Since I don't think my sketches are worth posting yet, I can show you what I drew so far. The lore to them will follow in soon posts (and maybe I'll also be able to post a couple of good sketches alongside 😊)

That's my first character Ike.

And that's my second character Zero.

I also have two other characters that I've included in the plot but I haven't made that detailed character sheets of them yet. I guess it's best to post them later as I explain their lore in more detail.

Souls

Something that I should also probably explain before diving into characters, is the way I think of souls.

As already explained in Undertale, the soul is the culmination of a being. I perceive it as if all of yourself is condensed in your soul. Memories, preferences, opinions. Taking one part out of that, the soul wouldn't change visibly, but physically something is missing, making the person holding that soul act, think and feel differently.

I also quite like the idea of the soul being reflected in my character's eye colours. That way, you kind of can look into their soul if you're looking into their eyes 😍.

I also really like the part with the soul traits. That means, you have one trait that you can categorise the way someone is.

The only problem I see with that is, that it's too bland. It would mean a brave character needs to ALWAYS act brave and a nice person needs to ALWAYS be nice to everyone. Because of that being unrealistic, but still wanting to include it, I like to think about it like your soul trait only shows at extreme moments. That way a character can still feel normal doing something that wouldn't exactly fit their soul trait.

If you take it a level further, it's also more likely for a character to drift into a constant behaviour that hurts their own soul. That means if a kind person is constantly being mean to everyone, it's going to affect them negatively. It could be physical but also mental. (Just came up with this last thought as I kept writing it down, but damn ... I see potential for some deep plot 🙂)
