there's other things going on in these snippets but one thing im quickly finding out writing the two mages au from viktor's pov is that he's lowkey falling hard and fast for mel. which i definitely didnt expect but straight up i think her skill and capability with magic + perceived put togetherness is making him kind of idolize her. and she's probably going to have some complicated feelings about that given her perfectionism and difficulty being genuine and vulnerable with people

Jayce's protectiveness and need to be with Viktor after realising Viktor is dying is special to me but also makes me want to scream.

Prior to the hospital scene it's the "Are you sure this is safe?" "Of course not" and while Jayce does look concerned he leaves the lab. (He had that meeting with Mel but still)

After the hospital he immediately becomes slightly more protective and stays even if it's dangerous, the scene with the bomb. When Viktor triggers it Jayce panics but he doesn't leave Viktor even though they could've both blown up/been hurt.

Then when the hexcore destroys the plants Jayce instantly moves in front of Viktor. Another instant of this protectiveness is when Heimerdinger says he's shutting it down after seeing the plant + hexcore and Jayce says "No I won't let you" and "Professor this could save Viktor's life" which is what triggers Jayce into taking Heimerdinger off the council. While he does bring up other points to it in the meeting itself the main motivation was this scene with Viktor.

Then finally the whole "Promise me" scene Jayce did not want to make that promise, we visibly see him hesitate to make it and only accepting because of how important it was to Viktor. Unfortunately for Viktor in the opening of s2 we see Jayce's love and want for Viktor to live was more important as he breaks it to save him.

sometimes I experiment and make quick sketches using only the lasso tool

I'm rewatching season 1 so here's a quick 1 layer sketch

it's about how jinx was always perfect in silco's eyes. it's about how jayce always loved viktor because he was imperfect. it's about jinx saying, "i thought maybe you could love me like you used to, even though i'm... different." it's about viktor saying, "i am more than i ever was." silco bringing jinx back to life after she tried to kill herself on the bridge; jayce bringing viktor back to life despite his promise to destroy the hexcore. it's about jinx's "looks like you got a couple" cutting to the core of viktor's obsession with curing himself, and viktor instantly parrying with "you have much to offer this commune, powder," a stark reminder of the child she no longer is, the child people won't stop recognizing her as.

vi accusing jinx of murdering powder. jayce snarling that his partner died in this room. vi's lesson being that she has to accept jinx for who she is now, who she has the potential to be in the future, and to stop letting her grief for powder eclipse her love for jinx in the present - jayce's lesson being that he has to experience the world through viktor's eyes to really understand him, and then he has to show viktor how he has always seen him, and everything else only gets in the way. silco telling jinx that she needs to find the strength to walk away, or the cycle will never end. jayce and viktor ending the cycle together.

i'm losing my mind thinking about how everything from jayce’s visit to the commune in act 2 to the battle of piltover in act 3 was always a rescue mission.

this man said, “send me back. i won’t fail.” jayce returned from the alternate timeline with ONE task. get to viktor. talk to him. TOUCH HIM. try again. and hope that it's different this time.

the expression on his face as he kneels isn’t hopelessness or him gearing up to try some last ditch effort to save tomorrow. jayce was NOT laying down arms in surrender and this is NOT the look of despair or defeat.

its the look of realisation. that THIS is the moment he he’s been waiting for — the moment he has been fighting his way to since he came back from the alternate timeline. it’s him rooting himself with utmost trust in viktor. in the two of them. in his love for viktor. in their love.

jayce didn’t even know much else beyond the fact that viktor has cycled through different timelines and different runestones, hoping to find salvation. and that he needs to reach this exact moment in time — where he kneels in submission before viktor on top of the hexgate. the penultimate point at which he can show viktor he cares; that he’s here and that he wants to see; that he understands — as he always has; that he still loves him and always will.

because at the end of it all, that’s what mattered. their unconditional love for and understanding of one another is what tore the seams of the cosmos and ultimately stitched them back together. it had to be them. it was always them. in every timeline and in every possibility.

it was here that he realised this is it. right here. this is the moment.

She's an excellent subject for texturing fun if you ask me 😌 Also she doesn't really have golden nails but it felt fitting for the vibe...

I don't want to keep clogging my blog with vent posts but uh... I guess this is a more general concern/observation

But it's getting real hard to stay motivated in fandom spaces when there's little compensation, and annoying occurrences are more frequent than good ones.

Mainly there's been less engagement/people showing interest in creators and their art (such as sending asks, making comments and reblogging with tags) and MORE parasocial interactions. This goes for both artists and writers.

Over this year I've noticed a vast disinterest within my public in general. Asks about ocs, my art, or just nice simple comments of ''I love your art'' has been getting more and more scarce. My follower number is bigger than 2-3 years ago sure and I get more likes on my posts but they are feeling more like just numbers and statistics than actual people who supposedly like my stuff.

And while people being parasocial with creators has always been a thing, I feel like it's gotten way worse... in general? People sending personal pictures out of the blue in hopes of being validated, unwanted psychological advice or assumptions about the creator without any established connection first ( <- these happened to me in the same week.) ventdump, just insensitive/lacking of common sense comments in general, unreasonable demands (mostly with writers)... I wondered at first if it was just me, but a handful of mutuals/acquaintances who are artists and writers seems to be going through it as well.

It's annoying. It's tough. It's getting exhausting. Creators pour so much of themselves into their work—countless hours, effort, and passion, all to share something meaningful or entertaining with others (and for FREE) The LEAST anyone can do is show respect, even if opinions differ. When a writer posts a fanfic, don't just say ''omg post next chapter!'', when an artist posts a drawing of their favorite character, don't just say ''omg draw (character) next!'' as if they're faceless content machines that are expected to churn out more '''content''' for you without acknowledgment, encouragement, or appreciation.

''I want to support creators but I don't know what to say and I feel intimidated by their talent so I just lurk silently :((('' I swear to you, no creator (at least not the majority) is making up an intimidating persona to discourage you from interacting with them. They WANT your comments. A single ''I love your art/writing/videos'' or even something as silly as ''I want to eat your art'' is enough to keep a creator sighing dreamily for WEEKS. It doesn't have to be deep! It's heartfelt and that's what it matters!! (Just remember to keep it relevant and thoughtful... It takes just a bit of common sense NOT to comment things like ''this looks like (another character)'' or ''this but with (another unrelated ship/character/show)''. No one wants to hear comparisons or unrelated ideas when they’ve poured their soul into something.)

In fact, the ''I like your art but I think you're intimidating'' feels more hurtful than flattering. It makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong, acting wrong. 💀

If you love that fanfic that changed your brain psyche forever and want to gush about it, go tell the writer. If you loved so much a piece of art that you saved it a million times in your phone and can't stop thinking about it, go tell the artist. Push away the ''they probably won't care about my comment/it won't make a difference'' thoughts. DO IT NOW. You won't know when they might go inactive forever or deactivate. You can't know if that is the last piece they will ever post. Make sure you show appreciation to creators NOW, while they are still here. While they're still not being replaced by AI.

can someone please give me the worst arcane takes they’ve seen from tiktok/twitter?

ive been told numerous times that both of those sites have the most diabolical interpretations known to man, and im seriously curious on how bad it actually is

a common viktor mischaracterization that always bugs me is when people try to argue that viktor was this huge zaun activist prior to season 2 because he very clearly wasn't. a lot of the piltover characters weren't and it's easy to understand that given their privileged backgrounds but viktor's relationship with zaun is really complicated and i don't see a lot of people talking about it. i find it incredibly unlikely that he wasn't aware of the choices being made with hextech, specifically the way the hexgates contributed to the growing class divide between piltover and zaun and the choice to reroute the hexgate tunnels towards zaun so that piltover buildings weren't damaged in case of emergency

i don't really think jayce would have made those decisions without him and i think it's more likely that viktor approved those plans and turned a blind eye to the harm it was doing as a concession to ensure that progress on hextech could continue. because otherwise he and jayce wouldn't be able to get the support and funding they needed to do what they really wanted with the hex crystals. and i think that was a huge part of why, once he merged with the hexcore and it became clear that jayce was okay with their technology being used for weapons, he went to zaun to help people. because that guilt had been building up for the past 7 or so years and he was finally seeing the consequences of refusing to acknowledge the societal impacts of his technology
