One thing I think about is how c!Tommy yesterday was in my opinion also very aware of c!Wilbur's mental state. c!Wilbur enters the home shaking, stumbling in his voice, very much scared and worried. He pushes c!Tommy out of the conversation and constantly seems ready to tell him something and avoids doing so. c!Tommy spends that time checking in on him, doing silly things, making him laugh, because he's not stupid i'm sure he knows that c!Wilbur has a serious thing he wants to discuss but cant. c!tommy is aware that being given a job is common in place of serious conversation between them. He knows he can't force c!Wilbur to talk about it, and so he just sticks by him and does what he can do in the moment and I think that is just very sweet.
if you say that c!tommy doesn't care about c!wilbur or vice versa, you have fundamentally misunderstood their entire dynamic and relationship to each other
c!tommy makes snarky and rude comments to c!wilbur because he's just a teenager who doesn't know how to communicate all the hurt he feels. no matter what, he's still at c!wilbur's side. he doesn't know how to help him or how to fix everything, but he would never choose to leave him or give up on him.
c!wilbur doesn't apologize to c!tommy because he's terrified of c!tommy leaving him. he's the most important person to c!wilbur and the person whose opinion matters most, because if c!tommy leaves him, all of his fears of being the "villain," of being irredeemable become true. if he apologizes to c!tommy, that gives c!tommy the chance to not forgive him and leave him behind.
the whole reason they are so tragic is BECAUSE of how much they love each other, not because they are bad for each other
c!crimeboys is so fucking insane wilbur is like "i am the worst thing that’s happened to tommy, i made him a soldier, i made him an exile, i made him love me when i know i don't deserve his love. he'd be better off without me but i can't leave him because i need him. i was never who i promised him i was and i hope he can love me despite of it. he's my brother." and tommy is like "wilbur made me who i am, and gave me a home, and a purpose, and being his right hand man was the most 'me' i ever was, and he's done terrible things, and he's hurt me. i don't know him anymore but i know him better than anyone, he died when he lost the election but he's still alive somewhere inside. sometimes it hurts to be around him but i'll follow him to the end of the earth because i need him. i'm a shell of the kid he's left behind and i hope he can love me despite of it. he's my brother." and when they both see each other they see nothing but pain (past and present), and feel nothing but love (timeless), and they grieve what they were and will never be again, and when they laugh it's like nothing ever changed. they're brothers.
Hot Take : The Heroes of Olympus might be Rick Riordan's worst written series, with the most interesting characters.
Compare this series with PJo. Though it was written in the first person, both the story and characters were three dimensional. I usually have a visual representation running in my head when I read books, and this series became my favorite because I was able to feel the emotions and plot like it was personal.
On the other hand, HoO was much more two dimensional when it came to the plot. Half of the time, most of my re-reads were just skipping to parts I liked.
The characters were the most interesting part in the story for me, and they too could have been much better.
I understand why Leo is a big favorite. The way Leo was written was top tier, and he would have been my favorite if I didn't get distracted by Piper Mclean, and Jason Grace.
Both characters have so much potential, and its that reason that drew me to them.
Piper Mclean was so much more to me, because she was strong and smart, and reliable, and someone the rest went to for comfort or strength. But she was also beautiful, the daughter of a goddess who usually sat in the sidelines watching the drama (that she usually started) unfold around her.
Piper Mclean wanted to take a stand.
Jason Grace was the golden child, the one who was handed the baton, and was told to be the child he should be, and he took it with no questions asked. He was hardworking, resilient, loyal, and he loved his friends so much that he died for them.
He was a hero, and it wasn't because of his father.
All the characters are so beautifully intricate and human, but the writing doesn't allow us to see it.
OKAY SO I SAW THIS ONE ART PIECE OF MICHAEL STICKING HIS TOUNGE OUT AT TECHNO AN TECHNO STICKING IT RIGHT BACK AND I'VE LOOKED EVERYWHERE AND I CAN'T FIND IT HELP
what do you want?
you ask the girl with pink hair and a torn coat, and she says “closure.”
you ask the boy with a shaven head and two toned eyes, and he says “companionship.”
you ask the fox with white-streaked hair, and he says “acceptance.”
you ask the king with blank eyes and a shining crown, and they say “to help.”
you ask the winged boy with a scar over his eye and a beanie, and he says “freedom.”
you ask the sheep wearing a pirate’s coat, and she says “peace.”
you ask the warden with green hair, and he says “safety.”
you ask the demon wearing a bleached coat, and he says “love.”
you ask the pig wearing a royal’s garb, and he says “equality.”
you ask the short boy with antennae and bee wings, and he says “security.”
you ask the man with torn wings in a green cape, and he says “unity.”
you ask the boy with messy hair and a red shirt, and he says “rest.”
you ask the hybrid boy wearing a suit slightly too small, and he says “a home.”
what do you want?
you ask the faceless man in the prison of his own design.
he laughs at you.
“control.”

HOOOLY SHIT
More Sbi ideas I will never actually write into a proper story BUT :
Tommy and Wilbur are princes.
Like really, really, young princes.
And Phil's their dad.
And, don't get me wrong, he's a great dad!
But, he's not always there.
He usually leaves the country (and his kids) under Dream, his trusted advisor, who Wilbur and Tommy don't like at all.
And then, Phil goes missing. Lost at the battlefield.
So Dream takes charge. He tells the citizens that he is searching for their beloved King, but in truth, he really isn't.
So Wilbur takes it into his own hands.
Stealing a horse, a bag of supplies, and carrying Tommy with him (Wilbur doesn't trust Dream with his brother), Wilbur goes in search of Technoblade, retired general, and Phil's friend.
Hopefully Technoblade will be better than Dream.
cTubbo would have one of those TikTok accounts dedicated to showing what he packs Michael_B for lunch and would have so many followers purely bc the stories he'd tell as the voiceover would be batshit.
thanks ✨Gay God✨
Your ao3 mood is bitch get help omfl and come here sweetie *hugs* and you goddamn horny sinner
I'm gonna cry
Sometimes, Wilbur wonders if he had entered the wrong world when he came back to life.
The world as he knew it, was bright. Even in Pogtopia's cold walls, there was warmth, small but bright, full of life that seemed to never go out.
The world that he came into, with grey hair, and a patched up scar, and memories of a train station that had haunted him for years, is much colder.
There's little to no light. Wilbur sometimes wonders how the flowers survived.
He wonders how he will survive, when Tommy's glow no longer lives within him.
Maybe Tommy will shine brighter with time. Maybe, he can be the one to make him smile! Wilbur wants to take out his old guitar and sing. Maybe that will cheer Tommy up.
He wants to hug him (but Tommy doesn't like hugs). To make his old shirt anew, to dye that white streak away, because Tommy's not like him. Tommy's bright and playful, and full of light.
Not a little broken boy held together by bandages and scars.
Does the new chapter of hush now have me in a chokehold?
Yes, yes it does.
c!Jack is wlw
I’m still just like
there are literal castles on the dream smp, there are extravagant cities all over the server (made of gold and glamour and overlooked by a god in more ways than one, a city of lights meant to dazzle and charm until those found in it have been bled dry, a beautiful city that sits hollow on the inside), there’s a Mansion bought by the richest person on the server that sits empty.
and the person that phil thinks needs to learn a lesson about not being materialistic is the boy whose lived in a literal dirt hut for well over a year (except for when he was living in a tent on a beach alone for months, of course) who watched his home get destroyed three times, gave up the things that phil thinks he’s too attached to for other people three times, and Got Shot And Died for the sake of his friends.
Okay Peepaw, Okay.
The best part about Tubbo lying about being pregnant to come to Pogtopia and then, after getting caught talking to Tommy, lying that Tommy is his gynecologist is the fact that Manberg cabinet was concerned about this not because Tubbo’s “gynecologist” is an enemy of state and it’s strange that Tubbo associates with him, but because Tommy in their opinion is a shitty gynecologist and would harm Tubbo’s “baby”.
