I am still far from my service dog fundraising goal and the date I pick my dog up is very soon. I need approximately another $1400 to cover the remaining costs of the dog and initial training. I already have all the required supplies for the first few months and access to quality veterinary care. I need to raise these funds by the start of May in order to pay the rest of the costs and get months of rigorous training on the books so that I am getting the support I need for my disabilities asap. This accommodation would radically change my life, as many years of prior interventions have not made any significant impact in my functioning. Please consider pitching in. Some more delicate, pearlescent box tree moths for your motivational moth enjoyment.
This moth was accidentally introduced to the UK in 2007, and it’s generally described in very unflattering terms and as a pest on ornamental box trees. Which is fkn rude tbh - the moth didn’t ask humans to transport it around the globe in their ridiculously faffy topiary. It’s just doing what moths do, living it’s best life, and I think it’s beautiful regardless.
May we be loved even if we destroy the occasional over-pruned bit of twiddly-ass hedging. (& I would also like to be pearlescent)
Is there a word for that like, “bright darkness” you get in winter?? When it’s been snowing or it’s supposed to snow past sunset and the sky isn’t Dark Enough. One of my favorite things
fucks me up that by total coincidence the sun and moon's size difference is exactly matched to their difference in distance from us, thus making our beautiful total solar eclipses where you can see the silver threads of the sun's corona possible because the moon just covers the sun completely
The stars (literally) aligned just right for this experience to be possible. It's likely that aliens don't have this
