Between Real and Fake by nevergracie
HYDRA Peter Parker fic. Basically, Peter is sent to the same Sokovia base as Wanda and Pietro. No romantic relationships except mentioned or minor. Sibling relationship with Peter, Wanda, and Pietro. Chapter lengths average to about 2400 words a chapter. 11 chapters. Complete. Can be read as a stand-alone but is the main fic in a series im currently updating. Parental Clint Barton and parental Tony Stark. (but tony stark only at the end) Takes place during Age of Ultron. Also my first ever fic posted and it kind of gets better as it goes on I think.

The hero’s identity was accidentally revealed, but it turns out they are moderately poor, have no friends or family, and their civilian life is frankly…sad.
Peter, through the radio: on 3 cut the gray wire, ok? 1..2..
Tony: wait, I don’t have a gray wire! I have red, green and yellow.
Peter, scratching his head: that’s weird. I have light gray, medium gray, dark gray.
Tony: you do?
Peter: fuck. my bad, I forgot I’m colour blind.
Tony: you’re WHAT?
Peter: doesn’t matter, just cut the middle one.
Tony, slightly panicking: it DOES MATTER! My middle one could be different. The wires are all twisted!!
Peter: on 3..1..2..
Tony, overly panicked: PETER, STOP
Peter: *rolling his eyes*
Tony: wait, I’m coming to you.
Tony, running to him: point to the wire you want me to cut.
Peter, showing him: this gray one right here.
Tony, heavily breathing: okay, by the way, it green, kiddo.
Peter: ohh.. which one is red?
Tony: the one in your left hand.
Peter: wait, which one is that? I’m also dyslexic.
Tony: how. did I. not know. THAT
pepper: what an idiot. i can’t believe i’m going to marry him.
happy: well, you don’t have to—
pepper, looking at tony yell at dum-e for blasting him with a fire extinguisher: no. i’m going to.

steve: you recruited??? a 14-year-old spider kid???
tony: the children yearn for the mines
HAYMITCH’S BIRTHDAY IS THE SAME DAY AS THE REAPING. THIS MEANS HE SPENT THE FIRST 15 YEARS OF HIS LIFE WATCHING KIDS BE SENT AWAY TO DIE, HIS 16TH BIRTHDAY BEING LITERALLY REAPED, AND THE NEXT 23. 2-3. TWENTY THREE!!! YEARS SENDING KIDS OFF TO THEIR DEATHS. AND THEN, KATNISS CAME, AND SHE AND PEETA LIVED!!!! AND THEN THE 75TH GAMES ARRIVED AND HAYMITCH WAS READY TO SPEND ANOTHER BIRTHDAY BEING REAPED, BUT INSTEAD WATCHED THE ONLY TWO KIDS FROM D12 WHO SURVIVED NEARLY (and temporarily) DIE AGAIN. STFU BRO
It's frustrating that you can come up with the plot of an entire fic in just a few seconds, but writing it all down can take anywhere from never to forever.
and if i said “younger sibling growing older than dead older sibling” is the saddest trope ever?
in 2025 let’s bring back being enthusiastic on ao3. leave a comment on every chapter. leave kudos and, if necessary, leave “double kudos” in the comments. tags and notes on bookmarks. the whole nine yards. let’s show fanfic authors how much we love them.
