Correct me if I’m wrong but… I think I found a way to not get tracked while using a smart phone. I’m no expert so take all this with a grain of salt. I’m just saying what I think would work.

I’ll talk about location tracking, then web activity tracking. And when I talk about location tracking, I mean getting a phone that does have gps as well as the second phone that doesn’t. Just incase you get into an emergency and need to be saved.

Also, this isn’t supposed to be advertisement, I’m not getting paid to advertise anything. Even if I sound like I’m trying to sell you something.

Ok so my phone’s location can be tracked by gps, cell phone towers and wifi, right? I’m pretty sure, cell phone towers can find your general location but gps and wifi give a more exact location.

So I get a Benco V80s phone — which doesn’t have gps or cameras — and just remove the battery when I’m not using the phone, and only use public wifis in parking lots without cameras, my location can’t be tracked? You must be thinking “You just said wifi can be used to tracked your location! Why would you use public wifi?”

Well, that’s because I like using the internet, and I need wifi to use internet. Public wifi is better than actual home wifi, you don’t want people knowing your home address after all. Plus, after you’re done, you can disconnect from the wifi and take the battery out. It can’t track you after that so why not go to a public restaurant somewhere far from your home or base of operations?

And now you must be thinking “well what about the cell towers?” They can’t track a phone that isn’t on. And you’re literally taking the battery out, so how is that going to stop you?

Well what about getting online activity tracked? Well if live in the uk, you must be familiar with this. Mass surveillance in the uk allows a lot of government agencies to tract your online activities, or at least that’s what this article says.

Mass Surveillance: What does the UK government know about you?
Comparitech
The UK is a member of Five Eyes and has a history of mass surveillance. Learn what the UK government knows about you and how you can protect

But to answer to that is tor for android. Considering the fact that Benco V80s is an android phone, we could download that. If you don’t know what tor is, it’s a project that wants to, as stated on the website “Advance human rights and freedoms by creating and deploying free and open source anonymity and privacy technologies, supporting their unrestricted availability and use, and furthering their scientific and popular understanding.”

Of course, tor isn’t perfect but it’s as private and secure as it can get. And use tor without standing out, read as much as possible form it’s website, look for advice from tor users.

Get a VPN while you’re at it. That’s going to help a lot, I’m not going to write much about it here though. We’ve all seen enough nordVPN ads to know what it’s all about.

Even with all that, don’t go around doing crime. Just don’t, it’s illegal and immoral. That includes “CP” (we all know what that’s supposed to stand for), it’s just wrong. Plus, any criminal things you do on tor will probably make you stand out from the activists, privacy lovers and other normal civilians who aren’t doing crime.

Criminals have been caught using tor before, it’s not perfect, it’s just harder to track. It has more layers of encryption than google and is honestly better than duckduckgo. Read the article bellow for more information on duckduckgo.

Is DuckDuckGo As Private As It Claims?
Medium
DuckDuckGo is a private search engine. It is adamant about spreading privacy around the internet. However, there is one issue we…

So that’s going to at least mostly stop the tracking, what else? Honestly, I don’t know. Just don’t use your personal information online, even when signing up for things. You don’t know if that company tracks or collects data from you after all.

A Witch’s Ingredients: Sand

Sand is an abundant resource that can be found across the world including along the coasts, through deserts and even in many people’s yards and gardens. Sand is rather easy to obtain and natural making it ideal for witchcraft. Though some types of sand may be harder to obtain, and more costly, than others, let this post be a guide on how to utilize it for its magical properties.

A Witch’s Ingredients: Sand

Types of Sand & Their Correspondences

Beach/Coastal Sand: calming, grounding, cleansing, connecting to the sea, self-love, protection and warding, motivation, memory, spiritual clarity, purification of the heart, easing pain, physical and spiritual strength, can represent both the elements of earth and water

Ocean Sand (from the ocean floor/deep sea): primordial energy, banishing negative emotions and energy, grounding, mental clarity, psychic clarity and strengthening, divination, guidance, ancient wisdom and power, connections to the sea and primordial waters, birth, creation, can represent both the elements of earth and water

Desert Sand: curses and removing energy from others, weakening, draining, banishing, grounding, mental clarity, physical health, enduring hardships, “drying up” love and past emotions, healing heartbreak, burying the past, often related to burial ceremonies

Volcanic Sand: destruction, intense energy, strength, death, rebirth, banishing, secrets or hidden messages, warding, baneful magic, offensive magic, often represents both earth and fire at once

River Sand/Silt: fertility, procreation, movement, flowing energy, travels, change

Lake/Pond Sand: the present, calmness, serenity, inner focus, self-reflection and meditation

Swamp/Wetland Sand: mystery, secret keeping, silencing lies and rumors, binding, curses related to becoming lost or emotional heaviness, often represents both water and earth at once, often related to animal magic specifically those that live in swamp land

Unearthed/Buried Sand: grounding, hidden power, addressing past issues and mistakes, overcoming controversy, self-discovery, introspection, emotional healing, moving on from past scars

Biogenic Sand/Bone Sand/Shell Sand: healing, moving on emotionally, remembrance but letting go of the pain and loss, honoring those lost (often at or to the sea), close connections to necromancy

Black Sand: protection, warding, banishing, relates to necromancy and spirit work

Pink Sand: love, beauty, youth, harmony, adjusting to change, remembering the past and lost loved ones, rebirth, emotional and mental healing, forgiveness of self and others

Red Sand: strength, courage, valor, relates to fire rather than earth

Yellow Sand: divination, focus, improving memory and skills, mental health, grounding and centering, represents both earth and air elements sometimes both at once

White Sand: purity, cleansing, protection, wisdom, preparing for change, physical and emotional balance, harmonizes all aspects of oneself

Combinations of Sand and Other Ingredients

Sand and Soil: grounding, balance, cleansing, protection of loved ones and family

Sand and Salt: change, growing power, dreams, purification, warding, protection, longevity

Sand and Ash: remembrance, the past, divination

Sand and Clay: change, mental fortitude

Sand and Kelp/Seaweed: beauty, youth, birth, fertility, the ocean

A Witch’s Ingredients: Sand

The History

Not much history on the use of sand in magic from what I can find that is a reliable source, but I was able to find some bits about its use.

Sand has been used in connections to rituals for the dead and in burial practices in many different cultures to a varying degree. In some sand was used for burying the deceased such as very early Ancient Egypt for its mummification properties before better mummification methods were invented and utilized. Placing sand into graves or coffins of the deceased somethings as a means to connect them to their homelands if that person was traveling into foreign lands or countries. Some stories speak about mixing the ashes of the dead with sand to be kept in the home. Other stories tell of people mixes ashes from fires or the hearth with sand and casting it out into the sea for lost sailors who could not be brought home.

Sand was also used historical in some types of spell jars and vessels. In some places sand was put into jars and bottles and given to sailors to keep them connected to home even when sailing. Others said carrying sand could protect one from being lost at sea or from disaster, likely where the history of sand being used for protection properties came from. It has also been used in witch’s bottles and for burying spells for varying purposes. Some cultures would bury offerings to deities into the sand of beaches or deserts.

Modern Use

Sand is still a common ingredient for many sea witches and worshipers of ocean related deities to utilize in their craft and in their altars. Deities commonly related to sand are Poseidon, Aphrodite, Psamathe, Thalassa, Aegir, Neptune and Veles. Sand is also often used in altars to represent either earth or water when representing the cardinal directions or the 4 elements. Some will use sand to represent both in cases of smaller altars.

Modernly, sand is often used in spell jars and bottles when used in spellwork or as a vessel to charge, cleanse and bury objects or tools such as crystals, poppets, amulets and trinkets. Sea witches or witches with accesses to large amount of sand will often use it for grounding and circle casting. Some will use it for runes and sigils as well.

Storing Sand

For those wishing to store and use collected sand ensure that there is nothing undesirable in it - garbage, sharp bits of glass, decomposing fish or animals, insects etc. Shift it thoroughly to ensure anything that could be potentially dangerous is removed and if needed properly disposed of. Once the sand has been shifted ensure it is dry before you seal it into anything.

Wet sand can house bacteria and mold - which can also smell quite foul when the container is opened again. You can use the sun to dry it or indoor heaters at a safe distance. Spread it out thin and flat to help ensure it is thoroughly dried if it is damp or wet.

Once dried the best way to store sand is inside of glass or ceramic vessels. Jars and bottles are the most ideal. Ensure that they are sealed tightly to ensure no spillage or condensation can get inside.

White sage and palo santo ALTERNATIVES

When cleansing your space, you may be tempted to use white sage or palo santo, they have some good benefits, but they are endangered and also closed practices.

Here are some alternatives for cleansing!

Lavender- Lavender is my favorite, it can reduce anxiety, it can help with sleep, too! It’s good for concentration and clarity during meditation, as well.

Cedar- Said to attract positivity and drive away negative energies

Juniper- Good for purification and energizing the mind and body

Mugwort- gets rid of negative energies

Rosemary- general cleansing, has strong masculine energy

Cinnamon- good for psychic abilities

Peppermint- helps with clarity

Essential oil diffusers- Essential oil diffusers are good for humans, BAD FOR PETS!!!

Crystals- As long as you and your pets aren’t eating them, crystals are a great alternative to smoke and diffusing oils.

Sound- Sound bowls, instruments, and clapping can all cleanse your space!!

Meditation- Just meditate with the intention of cleansing your space. Make sure you aren’t soaking up the negative energy, though

Hope this helps!

Summoning weather for a specific day

I don’t normally post about witchcraft, but I figured I’d share a very simple method of weather magic.

Say you’re going on a family vacation next week. You want to make sure it will be nice and sunny, maybe with a nice breeze. Or alternatively, maybe it’s nearing whichever winter holiday(s) you may celebrate, and you desperately wish for it to snow. You don’t want to summon snow randomly, you want it to snow next week, and maybe you just don’t have the time to perform the spell closer to that day (or simply don’t want to. that’s fair). What’s a witch to do?

Pick something to represent the day. This is honestly the hardest part. What are you doing that day? Maybe you’re going hiking, so you could use a shoe or a few leaves (since you’re going to be in nature). Maybe you’re traveling, and might use a small wheel or compass. Once you’ve selected an object, hold it while visualizing the day you want it to represent.

If you want:

sun - leave the object in the sun for as long as possible, preferably up until and during the day of.

clouds - wave the object through incense smoke or the vapor from an essential oil diffuser.

wind - blow on the object. if you want winds from a certain direction, blow on it from that direction. for softer winds, blow softly. for strong winds, take a hairdryer to it.

rain - sprinkle water over the object. or hold it under a faucet if you want particularly strong rains. maybe leave it in a bowl of water for a while.

warmer temperatures - hold the object between your palms until it has warmed significantly from your body heat. or hold it over candle flame.

cooler temperatures - stick the object in a fridge or freezer. leave it there for as long as possible, preferably up until and during the day of.

snow (or otherwise extremely cold temperatures) - stick the object in a freezer in a glass of water.

I’m sure you get the picture, and can come up with other ideas for other types of weather.

These can of course be combined. One can softly blow on an object before leaving it in the sun in order to bring a soft breeze on a sunny day.

Happy witching :]

What is this theriotype?? A cat??

so I took people’s advice and started a journal of possibly alterhuman experiences, I’m a cat right?? here’s my list rn (current date: 20 jan 23)

feeling that there should be a tail on me (phantom tail?)

randomly purring even before starting vocal practice

feeling like my canine teeth are sharper/bigger when I see birds (phantom fangs?)

feeling like I should have claws when I think about my hands or feet (phantom claws?)

I bit some kid who tried to steal my stuff while shaking my hand lol

looking in the mirror and expecting to see something on all fours

Randomly almost doing quads in public instead of walking even though I don't do quadrobatics

feeling uncomfortable in an area that I’m 99% sure it was an animals’s territory but I can’t avoid if I wanna get to and from school

soo cat? i mean I think I’m a cat, or some sort of feline. I’ve been trying to do cat therian stuff to see if it feels right, and omg, it doesn’t feel wrong!

edit : cat therians and alterhumans in general, does this sound like some cat shit?

What's the difference between American red foxes and English ones (appearance wise, I guess)? What's the best/easiest way to tell them apart? They look really similar to me!

The most obvious difference is in the fur. European red foxes (Vulpes vulpes crucigera) have fairly short, stiff and densely packed guard hairs that are designed to protect them from wet weather. American red foxes (Vulpes fulva) have much longer, finer guard hairs, giving them that classic soft and fluffy look. Their fur is designed to keep them warm and protect them from the snow.

European foxes on the top/left, American on the bottom/right

image
image

American foxes also have much fluffier tails than European ones, often with rounded tail tips, while European foxes often have tails that taper to a point.

Another way to tell is the colour. Putting aside colour morphs, normal red coloured European foxes have a lot of different colours and tones mixed into the coat. Some can be fairly solid, but a lot have varying shades of red, yellow, brown, grey and black. Frosting, the silver guard hairs over the hindquarters, (and sometimes forequarters and face), and usually more prominent on European foxes.  American foxes tend to be fairly solid in colour and don't have a lot of different colours mixed into the coat. The shade of red can vary depending on the subspecies, but the overall the colour will be pretty even.

image
image

As for colour morphs, the cross morph is only found naturally in American red foxes. There are a few regions in Scandinavia, Russia and Hokkaido, Japan where cross foxes can be found but those are all the result of farmed American foxes being released or escaping and breeding with native foxes. In the UK you will never see a wild fox with this cross colouring

In Europe the equivalent of a cross fox is the smokey or coal morph. They vary from a yellowish colour through to a dark brown with a lot of black and grey in the coat. Throat and belly may be white, dark grey or black, or a mix of all three and they lack the black faces of a cross.

image

Silver foxes do exist in Europe but they are exceptionally rare, and usually referred to as black foxes. They are often darker than American silvers with less silver hairs, although American silvers can very a lot in darkness.

image

Although this can vary a lot by region/subspecies and even individual, European reds tend to have quite blunt, rounded facial features. American reds tend to have sharper features, such as pointier muzzles and ears. American foxes are also smaller than European ones, but this is hard to tell from photos alone.

image

American red foxes also have longer legs than European foxes. This is most obvious when they’re in their short summer coat. European foxes also tend to have less black on the legs than American foxes.

(~7 = around 7)

I remember a fanfic that did something that reminded me of ~7 year old me. What they did was they made a person alternate between hero and villain. Or sometimes-they’re-a-hero-sometimes-they’re-a-villain.

And ~7 year old me loved to take a barbie doll that was supposed to be a hero, and have her cover her face with her hair to hide her hero identity. When her hero identity was hidden, she was a villain. She’d cause trouble, get out of sight, show her hero identity and “defeat the villain”. Basically, she took credit for “defeating” herself.

This of course wouldn’t actually work in real life, mainly because in real life people don’t have super powers. The other part is because the barbie always showed herself, in the same clothes as her hero self. Another part is because it’d take too much effort.
