Consider Life: A Rant

Woah, slow down now. What you’re talking about is pretty big. You better take everything into consideration and I mean EVERYTHING.

Oh please, I can’t appeal to the world.

But consider this: Life.

What do you define as a life? No, this isn’t an abortion rant but more of a mere philosophical analysis of the human social microcosm. Still with me? Thank you.

Anyway, life. Some may define a life as having a job, with a family, a nice house, a nice car, and everyone is happy. Well if that floats your boat that is fine by me, but again consider this: Life.

What do you want from life?

What difference do you want to make in the world?

What makes you happy?

These are questions people have contemplated since humans have existed on this planet. A life to find purpose. There has to be a reason to live, so what is it? Some may look to religion for answers. Some may also look to science for answers to find a logical explanation for all of this. And maybe others will develop their own opinions and try to find their own way. However, it all boils down to single fact. No one really knows. A person may think they know because they believe in something, but do they really know that is the “right” choice? Is it the “best” choice? Is there a “best” choice?

Contemplate that for a moment. Does anyone really know?

The short answer is simply: No

No one knows at all.

Life is a constant mystery filled with questions, discovery, analysis, purpose, and beliefs. Any person is entitled to their own opinions and philosophies on how they should live their life, but I would like you to consider what I am saying at the very least. This is not meant to be a post to show you a secret formula on ways to live your life so you can truly be happy and find purpose.

That is all for you to do.

The point I’m trying to make is that since there is no “correct” or “best” way to live your life, you need to go out and find out for yourself. Do not copy other people’s ways that they go about living their lives. Don’t do it “just because they’re doing”. Do it because YOU want to do it. Being truly independent with the ability to creatively think is crucial to your own personal understanding and fulfillment. Do this, and you will figure it out. I promise you.

Just sit there for a while. Put on some music if this helps, and just think about the state your life is in now. Think about what you want and ways it may be possible to get what exactly it is that you want. Don’t be unreasonable about anything. It is important to be realistic, but also be ambitious. Thinking big can help you understand the smaller things better. Once you think you have figured out exactly what it is want to do, set goals and do them.

Again, these are all things for you to do. I am only trying to give you a little push to get you started. The rest is up to you and for you to decide.

Thank you for considering this. Re-blog and respond with your thoughts if this has helped or if you disagree with anything I’ve said. I’m always open to constructive criticism.

Two Door Cinema Club

Two Door Cinema Club

Northern Irish Indie Alternative Rock

If you don’t know of these guys at this point you probably live under a rock.

Well if you do live under a rock, listen to “Something Good Can Work” and “What You Know” for starters. Tourist History is probably one of the best albums I’ve ever heard. Go there next.
