Yoo Joonghyuk being broken by everything having gone so well. It's never explicitly stated, but it's very heavily implied that someone always dies from Yoo Joonghyuk's team by the time the Seoul Dome is broken. Either that, or something terrible in general happens (Seoul being wrecked, etc).
In Kim Dokja's round, he had everyone. They were alive. Nobody was seriously hurt. Everything was going so well. This man who appeared in this round only was creating miracles, even if Yoo Joonghyuk doesn't like the self-sacrificing stuff (because he's realized he's come to care about Kim Dokja a lot. Enough so that he doesn't want to have to continue the scenarios without him, and the only reason he's willing to do so is because Kim Dokja told him that he had to. And Yoo Joonghyuk is good about following through on what his companions ask of him, even if he pretends he won't, and that's putting aside how deeply Kim Dokja's words impacted him) but Kim Dokja's actions had created the best story for them yet.
And then, seemingly at random, the Outer God descends and destroys everything and everyone.
It's like an unfair glitch in a game destroying all of your progress. Everything you had worked for, gone in an instant. But it's worse because he loved and cared for all of them. And the final straw was his worst fear coming true: Kim Dokja does not exist in this round. He doesn't exist in the next one either. He can't find him, and he can't do the things that Kim Dokja did. He never knew the man's plan. He lost his guiding star. Kim Dokja was the one person who had understood him, and that was someone he had been looking for for so long. Between the two things, he was broken, and desperate, and made many, many more mistakes than he would have.
It's a bad ending, plain and simple. And though the story doesn't say it, end game readers who understand the context also know that that Yoo Joonghyuk would be doomed to never reaching the end of the story and never getting the answers he wants. Because the man who had the key to reaching the epilogue was taken away by the cruel twist of the Star Stream.
they were supposed to match
[ID: An Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint comic. Yoo Joonghyuk and Han Sooyoung are standing together, both looking angrily in the same direction. Joonghyuk has little pigtails and a trans coloured scrunchie. He’s wearing a t shirt over his coat that says “I (Heart) My Bisexual… Wife + Husband”. Some text is cut off by his crossed arms, and the heart is the bi flag colours. Sooyoung is shouting with angry disbelief, wearing a matching t shirt that says “I (Heart) My Bisexual War Criminal Husbands” and a trans-coloured sweatshirt around her waist.
Kim Dokja is shown laughing like he’s pleased with himself. Action lines radiate off him, showing off that he’s wearing his usual coat with a shirt that says “Ally” and has the ally flag. End ID.]
least kdj kinnie orv reader: i will pull up the orv ebook during an upsetting and awkward moment to cope with the situation at hand (i dont have wifi). i will pull up my most sentimental chapter. i will scroll furiously while trying to get sucked in so i don't need to think. hm? i resemble who? nahhhhh
still so proud of this one im so funny [ID in alt!]
another time kdj perfectly reflects the very villains he fights against
ok so WHAT IF. sp reads od bedtime stories every night before bed
ok so WHAT IF. sp reads od bedtime stories every night before bed
thinking about how you cannot gender yhk in a way that matters. kdj has millions of fragments of all kinds of genders, so you cant essentially call him a guy (?); i assume hsy is pretty much comfortable with changing gender, as she appears as a man in early orv at least twice. yjh is also fine with being the punisher and roaming around people he knows (except kdj, but thats another thing entirely,) like thats already a part of him he's accepted by now
where could he run to? its not like he has a warm home to escape to. its not like he has a life to look forward to, so its better that he dies anyway. wouldn't he be doing a favour to his younger self? wont it be a kind of, salvation?
Ok, this is maybe the last one of the added doksoo scenes in the ebook. So KDJ tried to write one which LHS finds okay but according to YJH it sucks. So KDJ asks YJH to write next time since he's a lot of experience...That's what I got to know from the korean readers. And the contents of the letter are like this....
Now their conversation at the end of this arc sounds like an answer to his letter >.<
Aaaaand also the last line of ORV...

reminder if you ever feel alone that han sooyoung wrote an entire world into existence to love every part of you. every blade of grass every flower petal every thread of cloth every pebble on the ground & everyone in this story will love u as much as they can, forever. bc han sooyoung loves you too
I'll do the same as you. (I'll try and hold it up.)
yoohankim making me feel shrimp emotions rn
yjh’s ■■ being left out of the novel was a kind of salvation for him. its the first time something isnt written out for him to do: breaking free of the character imposed onto him by han sooyoung’s writing, by dokja’s interpretation and finally deciding what his life was all for by himself

hc that jang hayoung is trans because han sooyoung originally wrote her as a guy, but since od wanted jhy to be a girl in the first place, he imagined her has a girl in his day dreams as well. he basically headcannoned jang hayoung into being trans... (important distinction is that he did not headcannon her as trans, but jhy developed feelings of not being a boy herself due to kdj's influence on the universe 😭 i do not think kim dokja would have a clue of trans people or the lgbt community pre scenarios)
huh. han sooyoung as a child had to survive her own ruined world alone. huh.
Even then, Han Sooyoung wanted to tell him. To tell him that he was definitely not at fault for this story being born…
chapter 535
smth smth parallel lines
pt2 here
I can't believe I decided to read orv on a whim because I just wanted a good manhwa with no romance subplot and here I am knees deep into the novel questioning my whole life because whatever these mfs have got going on is much more nastier and visceral than any romance
i think ysa missed dokja the most in the epilogues after yoohan. their main bond that formed during and because of their ordinary lives before the scenarios, all of that erased and filtered out from him…… the guy sitting in the closet while you poured black pepper in the company's coffee machine is gone. you are alone with your memories and no one else remembers the things you did at work when you were at your worst. you turn around to glance at the past once again only to find that theres no one there anymore.
some times i wish i knew someone irl that just finished reading orv but was confused about the timeline and events just so i could whip out a giant whiteboard and explain to them (using my drawn out visuals) the entire plot, characters and theories involved in order to understand the story better
baat!
(bonus concept doodles under the cut)
(i know canonically the horn is meant to be in her forehead but once the beret idea hit me i couldnt let it go)
ive had the basic elements for this fan design floating around since my first read through and finally settled on something more concrete :)
genuinely cant stop thinking about that doksoo post by the way. what if you met this guy and he was everything you wanted in a reader. he treasured that webnovel the way you were desperate for but he never liked yours. and then youre thrown together by circumstance and you fall in love with him and he promises to read your work every single chapter and then he gives you 49% of himself and doesnt even include the part that loves reading. and then you discover that when you split yourself in two, yeah that other part of yourself? she loved him too. she loved him so much she wrote for him for thirteen years and that work you were so jealous of was your own and it was that quest that even made you a writer and every single part of yourself seems to come back to loving him. what would you even do
if i have one purpose on this earth it is to push the doksoo agenda look guys i was there. i was reading the joonghyuk fics i was nodding along when they called han sooyoung the lesbian best friend but ive grown ive matured and so can you. take my hand. think about the kaizenix arc with me. remember 1863rd han sooyoungs devotion. and we can walk into a beautiful sunset together <3
KDJ's constellations were internet friends who said 'we should start a band when we meet up irl' and then they did and it worked. unfortunately SP left the friend group early to settle down and have a child 😔 but it's probably for the best he can't sing anyway
This sounds like fanfiction but it all actually happened
