The Fifth of November, 1955
Remember, remember the Fifth of November, The scientist hanging a clock, Who knew on that date, That fortune and fate, Would reveal so much more to the Doc. Doc Brown, Doc Brown, he did invent Such objects of folly, with good intent, He tumbled and fell in his lavatory But soon after took to his lab'ratory For though he'd been woefully injur'ed A vision unfurled in his bruis'ed head Great Scott! Great Scott! From this disaster Great Scott! Great Scott! The Flux Capac'tor! And what did he do with it? Build it!
Archival ink on paper, 6x8". The original drawing is now owned by a private collector. I've also done a reading of this poem on YouTube.
A Joseph Ducreux-inspired painting I did because Christian Slater is awesome in Mr. Robot.
EDIT: Added an alternate caption suggested by spectralconfetti on reddit.
Painted with a Wacom Bamboo tablet in MyPaint, lettered in GIMP.
Some more captchart. The 1963 Wostro, the herpderpiest automobile the swinging sixties and a wonky captcha had to offer!

Delia Derbyshire (May 5, 1937-July 3, 2001)
Delia Derbyshire was an English musician, composer, and pioneer in the early days of electronic music. Her developments in and use of musique concrète and other innovative methods of early synthesis led to soundscapes like none heard before, including the iconic Doctor Who theme.

In the interest of art-blogging something as quickly as possible which isn't my big ol' face, here's an illustration commissioned by Brad Carter for the Phone Losers of America book. It's the first of three illustrations of mine appearing in the book, for which I also wrote the foreword. You should probably go purchase a copy right now, before you've had time to think it over properly.

This is a new variant of Scrabble I'm working on which is fairly mean to its players. Rare letters are no longer rare, point values are rendered mostly meaningless, and you have to make valid plays without actually seeing any of the words on the board. Please click over and share your thoughts, I'd love some input on this. Would it actually be any fun to play this way?
Alan Turing (June 23, 1912-June 7, 1954)
Turing was a pioneering scientist in the fields of mathematics, logic, cryptography, and more. His work was fundamental in the development of computer science and artificial intelligence.
Prosecuted and ostracized for his homosexuality, then a criminal act, he has been posthumously pardoned.

I've decided what to do with this Tumblr o'mine.
I already have a standard blog and a whole mess of other stuff. The one type of blog I'd been thinking of starting but hadn't yet was a dedicated art blog. So, that's what I shall do here. I've been producing various things in various media all my life, and I now have this shiny new venue for it. Woo and yay!
I begin this project with a simple digital self-portrait, inspired by the one Adrian Lamo uses as a logo in press releases he writes about himself in the third-person. It was the first image ever created on my current graphics tablet, completed in about 30 minutes while looking at Lamo's pic and a small mirror for reference.
Joybubbles (May 25, 1949-August 8, 2007)
Joybubbles (born Josef Engressia) was an early phone phreak.
With perfect pitch he was able to control the phone system by simply whistling the tones normally generated by Bell's systems, an ability he accidentally discovered at age seven.

I decided to try my hand at Troll Physics. Let's all do this and party in space!
