My character Mephis and @joenasx 's Allan, our Star Trek OCs, on their wedding day!
Healing magic - the ability to stitch yours or someone else's wounds together with a touch - spreads, ironically, like a disease. Get healed by someone, there's a small chance you'll become a healer yourself. Perhaps this was intended by a higher power to be a nice gesture. Someone helps you, and then gives you the power to pay it forward.
For Singed, this was an exploitable loophole.
OR: Viktor finds another way to live.

Jayvik nation pls check out my fic ๐
I have nothing against platonic/queerplatonic jayvik but every time someone tries to explain why it would somehow be better than romantic jayvik all the reasons they give literally just also apply to romantic jayvik. Like any profound thoughts you have about the nature of their bond still apply if they happen to also kiss about it
It doesn't really make sense in canon because unfortunately star trek treats genetic modification like it's 100% reliable no downsides captain america super soldier brain enhancement juice so it's pretty easy to tell if augmentation works or not, but I think I would find it pretty compelling if the modifications Julian's parents did on him just. Didn't actually work. They did nothing. Julian grew as he would have already and everything about him that they credit to genetic modification is just how he happens to develop. The only effect it had on him was set up expectations for Julian based on the product they thought they should be getting, like those parents who make designer babies.

Everyone talks about the angst of ye olden times vaschete and the coffee shop AU but i love the little puppy versions of them you draw sometimes. The baked potato and crinkled tissue are so cute!
The Adventures of Baked Potato and Crinkled Tissue
I think the problem I have with the dragon prince (beyond a surprising lack of dragons), while finding most of it decently entertaining, is that by far the most interesting aspect of their magic system is dark magic and the other magic doesn't even remotely compare to the point where it feel unintentionally imbalanced. Not to sound like Viren but it IS clever and practical and until any of the other kinds of magic can prove that they're able to cure full body paralysis for the price of a single deer (who get hunted for their meat daily anyway) they don't hold a candle to it.
Yes, other dark magic spells bad, don't trap people in coins forever, but like, for a series that likes to dip its toe into grey morality sometimes, it's weird how 'we should evaluate spells on a case by case basis instead of painting all of a certain kind with the same brush because some of them are incredibly helpful' doesn't seem to be the final conclusion the series is/was headed towards. Am I supposed to give up all helpful drugs because some of them are poisonous or addictive? No, it's about which ones are used in which context and in what amount. Maybe 'regulations good' is just too boring a conclusion or something.
(Viktor's like well that's not true non-monogamy is a common thing in Zaun and Jayce is like haha yeah but not here. You can't date people other than me. Here. Because of the appearances. I'm NOT jealous)
Arcane AU where everything is mostly the same but at some point after the academy and before the events of the show Jayvik got married for the tax benefits and so Viktor could have a last name for practical reasons and basically it's a fake dating AU until someone else points out that neither of them seem even remotely bothered that this will impact their future romantic prospects with anyone outside their marriage
Viktor has some kind of mind-reading power, right? That's how he knows random stuff, like that Jinx's old name was Powder.
And Jayce was sent back to our main dimension BY Viktor to persuade Viktor not to do any glorious evolution shit because it doesn't work (because it starts an apocalypse for some reason).
So instead of immediately blasting Viktor, why didn't he just... Let Viktor read his mind so he could understand the consequences of his actions? If I'm not mistaken, didn't he end up doing that in the end anyway?
It's not like he doesn't know it's an ability Viktor has. The other Viktor would have told him. So...???
