like basically the new pokemon games have felt both overstimulating visually and under-stimulating lore/world building/exploration wise. EVEN IF i really enjoyed the friend group and character design for this one i seriouslly cannot get immersed in the games because i get Stressed the Fuck Out by how much is going on. and i play pokemon to like. Relax

i think the thing about the newer games that continue to feel like is missing. that has always given pokemon its ‘pokemon charm’ is the ability to just like, chill. and explore in the games. the ability to either get deeply immersed OR to just let the game run without risk in the background while you like. clean. do homework. fall asleep playing it. yknow??
