remember that time that spock said “this is about sex” but he couldn’t say sex so instead he said “biology” and kirk clearly knew what he meant but was awkwardly like “what kind of biology” and spock got this look on his face like ‘oh lordy i’m not dealing with this today’ and said “vulcan biology” and kirk can’t say the word sex either so he goes “u mean the biology of vulcans” and then they stood there in silence for ten seconds like a pair of fucking idiots

Remember that episode of Voyager where the entire crew was basically begging Janeway to sleep with the hot holodeck 1800s Irish villager and she was like “noo o ooo  I couldn’t possibly !” and they were just like “PLEASE captain you’re SO horny PLEASe.” 

I've said all this before but I still love this pop culture liminal space star trek occupies where like.. It's iconic. It's massively influential. It's genre defining. It holds historical significance. Everybody knows about star trek. But it also takes a certain type of nerdass to actually actively participate in Liking Star Trek

Star Trek can make as many new series and movies as they like, and still nothing will ever truly beat the golden awkwardness of this one shining minute of dialogue.

the least realistic thing about star trek is that starfleet uniforms don’t have pockets and nobody complains about it

the way Spock keeps glancing at McCoy and Christine just proves to me that in private he does show his emotions and that includes when he and Jim are alone

i wish we could see Jim’s reaction to Spock’s little outburst
