No longer using responses as of June 25th, 2023. However, youāre free to still answer the questions if you want a place to talk/rant about your experiences!
HAI!!! Ok. So. Misophonia, - when you hear certain sounds made by others that [drive you mad], give you a feeling of abnormal disgust, anger, or discomfort. I have that! It really sucks!!!! And I want more people to know about it! For those unfamiliar but wanting to learn, this is a good base article to read.
I'm working on a project based around misophonia for school, and one part of this is a survey - and I'd really appreciate, if you know/believe you have it, if you'd spare some time to fill it out...?
It's completely anonymous :3 There's a place to give a name, but only if you want to. You can use it as a place to vent, You can be as lengthy as you want, or as short as you can possibly manage. However you wish to be!! There is verrry small mention of self harm at the scale-based question, but that's it.
14 questions: 2 for your name/consent, 3 multiple choice questions, 8 open-ended text questions, and 1 bonus one for misokinesia.
For those who followed me for art,, Help me share this and i can get back even faster ;) ;). asjdfgdnf That felt evil sorry! This is a really important topic to me o|-<
If you don't have it yourself, but still reblog it, thank you so so so much!!!
Dear Psycho,
Hello again.āŗļøš¤ Hope you are having a wonderful afternoon.
While investigating Tartarus chapters, I found another funny coincidence in between Allmight's and AFO'S conversation.
You once researched on Midoriya family home and stated that at first they might have lived in a traditional Japanese house with tatami floors. In the anime, (sorry š I forgot which episode) the scenes of AFO's thought while their conversation was not that clear. But in the manga it's different.(Chapter 116)
As you can see, I've marked it out. For a better view:
It might be the Todoroki house. Or, it might be the exterior of the house that Midoriya family was staying.(chapter 96)
So what so you think of this? Which traditional Japanese house was AFO thinking about?
Hey! You know, of course on the one hand a traditional style house (like Todorokiās) can just be part of listing the values and those material things that everyone has in their life, and then some of that has to be inherited by someone just to continue the Life line further. This is what Afo is talking about in this talk.
However, here are some thoughts on this whole picture.
1. Home. This is where the family lives. Moreover, we have some symbolism here - a traditional style house: it is that traditional way of life - a family where the head is the father of the family, the mother looks after the household and raises the children, and, as a rule, the eldest son must inherit it and take care of the house and the parents (if there is no eldest son or sons at all, he is āadoptedā through marrying a daughter, if the wife's family is higher in rank or it is not beneficial for her to give her daughter to another family).
2. A building that symbolizes work. I would like to point out that in the past and even now in Japan there is still the concept of āfamily workā, where the whole family worked for the same company (for another person or family) or then the son replaced the retiring father at work. And, of course, the āfamily businessā, which can also be inherited.
3. I really like that we have two types of food here: as like European-American sandwiches, snacks and other goodies
and traditional Japanese breakfast: miso soup, grilled fish, boiled rice, scrambled eggs and pickled vegetables.
It's funny that it's all these simple things a family does when they get together that Afo imagines. Especially breakfast - it's a boost for the day, including the mood.
I think he really appreciates small family things like eating and living together. Yeah , I think he's quite a family man, very appreciative of the concept of family, but All Might deprived him of all that. And we just aren't shown it because Evil has to be Evil so no one feels sympathy for him. But that's for now, because the details still show what's important to him, which means Evil isn't so Evil.
anyone else think of how terrifying sock opera must have been for mabel
like
when bipperās looking down at her with that shit-eating grin, holding the rope?? Yk, that iconic scene??
Yeah, I canāt imagine how Mabel must have felt or how many nightmares sprung from that.
just. Imagine with me, okay? Youāre twelve. You have a twin brother whoās been there for you your whole life, and always has your best interest at heart. Heās given up so much for you, and youāve tried your best to help him in return, helping him solve mysteries and engaging in the things he enjoys with him. You donāt have to do that, but you do, because you want him to be happy.
And one day, something odd happens. He hasnāt gotten a lot of sleep lately, so maybe itās just sleep deprivation! Maybe heās just. ..Acting so oddly,, because heās tired!
yeah. Thatās it. At least he wants to help you with your crush for once, even if he wanted to focus on that laptop earlier. You feel kinda bad about ignoring it, but cāmonnnn!! This guy is. So hot. You canāt help yourself! .. probably.
When youāre almost halfway through your attempt to impress this guy, this.. puppet you made starts floating, talking to you in the voice of your brother, telling you that he did something stupid (made a deal), and his body is currently being possessed by this triangle jerk you encountered earlier in the summer.
⦠kinda a lot to take in, but hey!! At least you know what was off now. .. wow, youāre kind of a bad sister for not noticing, huh?
anyways, he needs your help! But it could totally ruin your chances with this guyā¦. But that doesnāt matter, he needs your help. This only happened because you didnāt help him earlier, so you gotta help him now, right??
you rush to find the only thing that could possibly help you in this scenario. The journal.
And when you do find it, well..
even though you know that is not your brother, thatās a demon, possessing your brotherās body.. it still looks like him. And never have you felt such utter horror, such primal fear at the sight of a simple grin, ear. to. ear.
seeing him above you, standing on the catwalk makes you feel small, useless, insignificant.
and the expression on his face is one you hope you never see his facial features contort into again.
And heās holding onto the rope that could mean the difference between life or death for you, the rope that is holding you and the wooden cake in the air. Youāre lucky he caught it in the first place.
He could drop it any time he wants. Let go any time he wants. And he does, briefly, toying with you.
When your eyes widen and fear squeezes at your heart, he laughs at your pathetic, meaningless actions.
and even though you know it isnāt your brother. You know itās not him, itās not him, itās not, itās notā¦
And yet. It sounds like him. His laugh. The little one he makes whenever you make a silly joke, or fall over dramatically, possibly at the expense of your dignity. The one you have heard so many times, usually just as innocent and sweet as the last. And now you hear it again, and even if itās something else laughing through him,, you canāt help but hear it. Tainted with ill intent.
The day does get saved, however. Your brother gets back into his own body not too much later. And everything is back to normal!
ā¦.. but.
You canāt help but remember that moment whenever he smiles a bit too wide, or laughs a bit too hard.
You canāt help but stay awake at night, replaying that moment. Telling yourself that it wasnāt him.
And you still have nightmares about it, too. Where you donāt notice until itās too late and that thing that looks and sounds like him but isnāt him is back and this time youāve lost, youāve lost, youāve lost!
..you wish you were a better sister.
I took so much pride in telling Irish students and professors at my Irish university how proud we, Palestinians, are of having one of the lowest rates of illiteracy in the Arab World (Approximately 1%) and how much we cherish education. I also shed light on how the ongoing genocide has deprived students across all levels of their right to a proper education by bombing schools and universities and making the living conditions in Gaza just hellish.
Having been a lecturer at the Islamic University in Gaza (IUG) for two years, I have always seen the passion and determination in the eyes of my students whenever they talked about their life goals and dreams. Not only did this war kill their dreams but also killed many of my students. One of them is the smiling young man in the middle of the picture below Mohammed.
Mohammed was known for always having a big smile on his face that would brighten not only the lecture halls but also our days. I look at my chat with Mohammed on Facebook and think to myself: Is there any hope he would reply to his teacher if he were to send him a message?! Take all the marks you want, but please say something! Please reply!
For my students, education is a bridge to success in life and an opportunity to get equipped with the skills and knowledge they crave. It means talking to experts in their fields, mingling with like-minded people, and having exciting experiences. In addition, education is indisputably a noble form of resistance and entrenching existence. It is our most cherished tool to preserve our culture, values, and commitment to our land and rights as Palestinians. Depriving students of education is equal to depriving them of Oxygen. Ā
This was the ending part of a play performed by my students named 'Sounds from Heaven'. It embodied the characters of iconic Palestinian martyrs like Al-Jazeera Palestinian American journalist, Shireen Abu Akleh.
Four months into the war, I was evacuated to Ireland to pursue my studies. Looking over my shoulder to see my greatly damaged house and family running from death from one place to another felt like ripping my soul out of my body. How does one work on his PhD research in such circumstances? How do you process all the near-death experiences and horrible images in your head from the war? What kind of therapy helps you cope with and accept your constant worry about your family? None! As the hope of a ceasefire diminishes every minute, the only solution I am left with is to evacuate my family from Gaza to Egypt until peace and life revisit my beautiful Gaza.

Do you think the dad for one theory has a shaky evidence? Asides from the doctor and physical appearance thing, what are the other firm theories to convince that it's true.
Hisashi was mentionned once in 330 chapters in a manga where we've met Jirou's parents. Add to that how AFO's face is always shadowed.
Seriously, Izuku was hospitalized so many times and no mention of his father.
AFO ignoring Izuku in Kamino despite having Search, X-Ray quirk and the kid hiding six meters away from him behind a flimsy wall.
AFO telling All Might that he loathes him because "You took something from me!"
The only moment in the anime when AFO is raising his voice is when he calls Izuku by his full name and he keeps giving All Might shit for being a bad teacher.
Izuku getting the quirks of the past OFA users, something that never happened before.
There are about three times where AFO calls Izuku by name. Always his full name. 1. While fighting All Might. 2. In the Vestige world. 3. At the end of the war arc, where ShigarAFO was evacuated by the noumus. Every time it happens, there is virtually no one around. (He was planning to kill All Might, the Vestiges can't snitch, and neither can the noumus)
Speaking of the end of the war arc, what AFO used to push back Izuku was a love tap compared to what he could have done. And since his hand was shown bleeding immediately after, it really looks like he held back and hurt himself doing so.
Machia smelling "two masters" when Shigaraki and Izuku are fighting during the war arc.
Izuku loving quirks and his mumbling is acknowledged in-universe as creepy. AFO is shown to mumble about quirks during Kamino.
Izuku is shown to be more fragile than his classmates. Bakugou was thrown through a wall, Todoroki took a building on the neck, and so on. One could argue that Izuku's bone breaking tendencies are because OFA got ridiculously buffed during All Might's time but again, during Kamino, AFO is shown shaking his hand as if he is in pain after using the air canon that sent All Might through three buildings.
Seriously, if AFO really wanted to end the OFA line, he could have kidnapped Izuku any time between the Sport Festival and the moment when he went to the dorms. He knew who Izuku was and it would have been so easy.
There are probably more things but I am tired.
