i hate fandom wikis on characters because they often include fan interpretations of the character, not allowing the reader to have a true interpretation of their own, instead one mixed with others'. i dislike fanon in general because it's a recirculation of fan ideas, not creativity based from the original material.
i point out the spread of misinformation on canon for this reason. specifically, people stating common headcanons as fact and final. this does not mean i have an issue with headcanons, as long as people are aware it is a headcanon.
the more fans demand that what their beliefs are is canon, the less variety and diversity, the less interesting takes on characters and their dynamics with others.

I am Abdullah Al-Hajj, 25 years old. I graduated from high school with big dreams of earning a university degree, but life took a different turn. Due to the difficult circumstances we faced, I couldnโt pursue my academic aspirations. Instead, I joined my brother in the field of chemical manufacturing, and I quickly learned the craft. It became the primary source of income for our family. Through this work, I was able to get married and start building my own life.
But everything changed when the war broke out in Gaza. The relentless bombings destroyed not just our workplace, but also every hope and dream we had built. The factory that had provided for our family was reduced to rubble. I found myself struggling to provide for even the most basic necessitiesโfood, water, and medical care for my pregnant wife, who is expecting our first child.
As the war intensified and the destruction spread to our neighborhood, we were forced to flee to a safer area. We found shelter in a makeshift tent, which barely protected us from the scorching summer heat or the bitter winter cold. Life in the tent has been harsh, and survival has become a daily struggle.
My younger brother, Bilal Al-Hajj, always had big dreams. From a young age, he aspired to become a professional football player. Recently, Bilal graduated from high school and enrolled in university, determined to balance his education with his passion for football. His dream was to play for one of the major football clubs, a goal he had worked tirelessly toward for years.
But the war shattered Bilalโs dreams as well. The harsh realities of our situationโthe struggle for food, water, and basic medical careโhave made it impossible for him to chase his passion. The war has not only destroyed homes and buildings but also ambitions, hopes, and the future we once envisioned.

Our daily life has become a constant search for basic necessities, a far cry from the life we once knew. The dreams I had for my children and myself now feel like distant memories, overshadowed by the relentless challenges of survival. Each day brings new uncertainties, as we navigate this harsh new reality, clinging to the hope that one day we might rebuild what was lost.

We used to work remotely in programming and design. We had a cozy home that we built hand by hand, stone by stone.
Ezzdeen my big son was 7 when the war started now he is 8 years old and suffering from huge weight loss because he is very picky in his food, we try to buy him the food he accept but it is hard in our situations, Ameer my little son was 5 and now he is 6, he supposed to be at his first year at school now but what he forced to live is very diffirent!
Today after a whole year of displacement and the harsh suffering we are still living in this genocide in Gaza.
After our many attempts to survive, we actually survived, but it was only the survival of the body, the soul and the psychological health for me, my husband and my two children did not survive! Even the body survived apparently, but it is very weak due to the famine and the suffering in obtaining food and drink.
As the conflict escalates, our access to food, clean water, and basic necessities has dwindled. Everyday here is like a battle, not just with death surrounding us everywhere, but against huner and despair.

I grew up in northern Gaza, where we lived a life of comfort and love ๐๐ , all thanks to my mother, Maysaa โค๏ธ, who has a heart condition ๐, and my father, who worked hard to provide a bright future for us ๐๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ. My siblingsโShabaan, Hanan, Ahmed, and my youngest sister Ameera, our little darling ๐ง๐โwere my closest friends, and we shared dreams ๐, laughter ๐, and plans for a life full of hope ๐ โจ.
I was a student ๐ at the Rosary Sisters School, part of the Union of Churches. My school meant so much to me; it was more than a building ๐ซ. It was my second home ๐ก, a place where I felt safe and happy ๐๐, surrounded by friends and childhood laughter ๐ฆ๐ง๐ซ.
But in a single moment, our lives were turned upside down ๐๐ข. The war destroyed our home ๐ ๐ฅ and my beloved school ๐ซ๐, and we were forced to flee south under heavy bombing ๐ฃ๐ฅ๐จ. We took refuge in the Nuseirat area, hoping to find safety ๐คฒ. Yet even there, we were not spared; fighter jets bombed โ๏ธ๐ฅ the very place where we had sought shelter. I witnessed family members being taken from us in that attack ๐๏ธ๐ญ.
I share my story today as a child who has lost almost everything: my home ๐ ๐, my school ๐ซ๐ช๏ธ, family members ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ๐๏ธ, and even my dreams ๐ . I am reaching out not only to share the pain ๐ but to search for a glimmer of hope ๐ to help rebuild our lives.
