Lately the probability of finding a comment like this in the notes has gone up from 100% to a 10000% and it’s seriously impacting our user experience.

I have been here since 2010, @staff. Started out as wolf blog and in 2012 I used to share my poetry and made eight super good friends to which I am still talking today! But now what?

It’s pretty safe to say that there are a number of bot networks active on this website. The one asking for bitcoin and the aforementioned ‘looking for fun’ one for example. The bots follow a pattern and because it’s a network it should be easy to roll up.

I know we always point at @staff to fix this, but honestly, it’s not an easy fix. I know many people block bots, but do we also report and flag them? How does staff respond to flags?

Anyway, here is what I and 10,000 other people who started following this blog over the last 24 hours propose:

We purge the bots. The porn bots. All of them. This is going to be one big COORDINATED effort to destroy the bots!

For one month we are going to report and flag those blogs, and make sure we cut their profits so they don’t make enough money to support their bot network.

It’s very important that we do this as a community. This is a movement. Everyone has to join so we can limit the outcome of this battle to only two possibilities:

Ok ok ok. So what if it is a huge troll. In the clip of the con we only see this Starscream wannabe stealing Blitzwings name. But what if at some point Blitzwing and Starscream got their bodies swapped and Blitzwing is in Starscreams body. Then technically it is Blitzwing, in Screamers body!

"but they've revealed all the characters and Starscream isn't on of them" you may wonder. Well what if that is another troll joke and it's going to be a suprise that Screamer is in the film and like I said, that IS his body!

THE STORY:

As some of you may know, I’m moving overseas. To the other side of the planet. Different country, different culture and dialect and everything. This is because the most wonderful woman on earth proposed to me, I said yes, and the instant my previous employer found out I was engaged to another female they decided to freeze me out.

While I am seeking legal recourse, it is a long-term thing and has allowed these multinational shitlords to stuff me around when it comes to my upcoming emigration. (Yes, they approved my visa even though I hate Pumpkin Spiced ANYTHING. Shocking, yeah?)

So here we are. Here I am.

My final paycheck has come in and I’m still about $NZ1,000 short of where I need to be to get myself and Dral safely away. I’m putting all my furniture except Nana’s chest of drawers on Trademe, but even if they sell they’re not worth much. The Wacom is going up too but I’m not sure it’ll sell. Right now my family are too focused on their “one useful child” to do more than make sure I’m out of the way so Baby Bro can take over the place with minimum fuss. They’ve made it abundantly clear they’ll do no more for me at this point besides driving me to the airport.

Thankyou. This post is the reality check every fandom needs right now.

We’ve all seen the rather… Explosive and often hateful dialogue regarding content on Ao3. Obviously from my previous post it should be clear I am fully against the labeling and censorship demanded by some people on Tumblr. Since my mad has nicely resolved I figured I would explain just why I feel the whole discord is ludicrous. Beyond the fact that censorship is most always abused, narrow-minded and wrong-headed, I think the idea that Ao3 shouldn’t host fiction involving rape, underage content etc because it is upsetting or triggering to some people misses a very important point. The point that it misses is that it is one each of us to protect ourselves. This idea that anyone is entitled to have their metaphorical hand held when interacting with fandom deeply disturbs me.

As someone with very real, and very debilitating mental illness, I loathe the idea that anyone but the person with the issue or illness or experience be responsible for safeguarding their comfort and health. There have been people in my life that have excluded me for my sake, instead of allowing me to decide if I was capable of attending or managing the situation. While the intent in each case was good, the result is infantilizing. Over the course of my recovery from a very dark and helpless place, the power of my choices became very important to me, and I fully believe it is our choices, especially when we are struggling with mental health, that place the most significant wrong in our recovery. 

We all make bad choices, we all make choices that harm ourselves and others. But in Ao3, and fandom at large there are many tools with which to protect ourselves. There are absolutely genres of fiction, both professionally published and fan created that I will not read because they disturb me. This does not mean that those that enjoy these works, or create these works are wrong. All this means is that I need to not read this for my own comfort and health, and really that’s an easy thing to do. Tags are so common now that in most cases we can avoid those things that hurt us. We can create search settings on Ao3 that block the content we don’t want to see, and generally we can all enjoy our fandoms, safe.

Sometimes an author will not use the correct tags, likely just out of forgetfulness, inexperience, not malice. In these cases, which have been my experience outside the norm, the best thing to do is to send a polite message to the author, mentioning a concern regarding tags, and then move on. This does not discount the discomfort that comes from having your illness or memories triggered, but life is not sanitized, we are going to get triggered. It’s how we respond to being harmed that matters. We don’t recover for our wounds by banning fiction, by hurling abuse at someone, or any of that garbage. We recover with time, and we recover with will, and that is on us.

I’m in desperate need of help.

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well. If anyone can at least reblog this I would be very thankful. I go by Renee, I’m 21 years old, closeted bisexual and I come from a palestinian muslim family. I have lived an isolated life, wrought with physical turned emotional abuse by my mother who also faced abuse as a child. My depression and anxiety coupled with her treatment and restriction on my life has left me feeling awful, both physically and mentally. Art has become my passion and outlet in a household where any expression of emotion is punished. I have gotten where I am skill wise beneath all of that. I’ve been beaten down, spoken to in ways that no one should have to deal with for years. She has my life in a stranglehold. I’m not allowed to see my friends anymore. She’s trying to force me out of college. She’s trying to take art as an outlet away from me. She has even threatened to force me into marriage. She has taken all of the cash i have saved up, i have nothing now. She refuses to help me financially, and I’ve exhausted every option I have. I cannot stay here anymore. I’m already suicidal thanks to mental illness, and the option of transferring to an art college has been denied for me. I cannot be who I am here because of my mom’s anti LGBT views, and if they find out I renounced islam the consequences for both will be dire. If I have to stay here another year, I’m not sure what I’ll do. I have no other family, nowhere to go. But I want to move out and find some solace in my passion, attend an art school someday, go into animation. I want to finally live in peace. I have exhausted all of my options and attempts at this point. By the fall, I plan to move out to New York, but I have no money to my name. If you like my artwork, or would just like help me get out of this situation that’s plagued me for so long, I would greatly appreciate any sort of donation. All money donated will go to savings to help me move out. Finally,after a solid month of fighting with design choices, I have completed a blue Pearl Jazz(transformers) design for a Steven Universe AU. I chose to make her gem specifically a Tahitian Blue Pearl because even though there are pearls that are dyed certain colors in order to cut corners and prices, I wanted her to be a naturally dark blue Pearl which are far more rare and valuable(at least that’s what the internet says about pearls lol). Thank you very much @theparallelwall for letting me base her design on your human fem Jazz, I hope I did her justice!^_^ 

Random Ass Non sensical SU thoughts/theories

Do y'all think maybe Rose Cracked pink but didn't shatter her. That would account for people saying they witnessed Pinks "shattering" by Rose. Maybe Rose didn't even intend to shatter pink, but crack her just enough to be able to heal her later. Also, everyone has this fabtabulous story that Rose COULDN'T have shattered pink because Roses Sword can't shatter gems. But what if rose didn't use her sword? What if she did use the breaking point like Steven guessed in "The Trial" but she missed on purpose to damage instead of destroy.Or perhaps the only reason she used the breaking point is because it was guaranteed strong enough to shatter a diamond,at least bismuth seemed sure of this. Or perhaps it was just strong enough to crack a diamond and bring them to their knees. (Which might be another reason Rose wouldn't allow bismuth to go off on a suicide mission to shatter the Diamonds with a weapon they weren't even sure would finish the job.) Anywho, the BP suddenly reappearing would explain why Blue Diamond is so upset, because though the diamonds knew the breaking point existed, they'd recieved Intel that Rose was not using such a horrible weapon, at least, not until she did use it.On Pink. Maybe Pink is still alive but damaged and that's why when we see her in Stevens dream and she punches the mirror, instead of it cracking and it's pieces falling out its frame. It's just cracked but not shattered and falling apart.
