Out of all the '86 flyboys who became like uncles to little Bradley, it wasn't Mav, it wasn't Slider, it wasn't even Wolf or Wood- who taught him his first swear word, it was Ice He'd done it with his nieces and nephews and little cousins before, so why would Bradley be any different? Of course, he figured one of the others would have beat him to it, but the shocked and speechless look on Maverick's face told him otherwise.
When no one had been looking, he'd quietly beckoned Bradley over with a "Hey, baby Goose, com'ere." When Bradley's little voice had proudly chirped "fuck" over the dinner table, Maverick had immediately choked on his food and dropped his fork while Carole immediately burst out in laughter so contagious, Ice couldn't help but catch on. Mav's pale face and shocked expression only making the situation funnier.
"Carol, I swear- I didn't- I never-" Maverick rushed to defend himself.
"Oh honey, I know. And I know I didn't, which means," Carol turned on Ice then, and damn. He didn't think of that. He figured Maverick would've already pulled the stunt. "Mr. Goody two-shoes, Thomas 'Iceman' Kazansky, is the first person to teach my son a swear word." Carol cackled while pointing and accusing finger at him.
"Ice-" Maverick implored in disbelief.
"Well, I figured-" Ice gestured over to Maverick while struggling to conceal his grin.
The conversation turned from their to all three adult coaching little Bradley on how, yes- that is a word, and no, it's not a very nice one that should ever be used, all while desperately trying to suppress their laughter.
However it was Ice who would suffer the unforseen consequences of his little prank, as over the years, neither Maverick nor Bradley- now proudly Rooster, would ever let him forget that it was Admiral Thomas "Iceman" Kazansky, Commander of the Pacific Fleet who had taught him his first swear word.
"for reasons known only to the Almighty and your guardian angel.."
does he mean ice. DOES HE MEAN ICE??
(& alas, my crippling obsession)
to the leading lady, who was on her own. || I spent so much time on this and I wanted it to see the day of light because I couldn’t stop thinking of this song and I couldn't place why. Because it makes me think of Phe. She's the only female lead that is in this movie for the purpose of meeting the goal - not a romantic conquest. A woman goal oriented, career oriented, her own friends and family questioning why she went the path she did. To be around people, mainly men making jokes at her expense (one of the reasons why she protects Bob - she's been there). She might be on her own on screen but there are so many ladies like her. For the Phoenixes. You're not on your own.
Ice's dogtags are another matter. Sarah is already in the picture but she is a civilian and she isn't Maverick so the first time they diagnosed him with cancer he doesn't even think too much about it. He's barley forty-five, the chemio is going to take time and with no assurance it's going to work and Maverick is squishing his hand so hard it's almost feels like it's going to break. It doesn't and Maverick doesn't let go.
After the first cycle of therapy Ice is just too tired and he feels like crying and he can't and he wants to fly one more time, with Slider, with Maverick, alone up there in the sky, as fast as he can because maybe, maybe if he flies fast enough all of this is going to a memory. But he can barley leave his bed on good days, let alone fly. He puts his dogtags in Mavericks hand one a Thursday night, just a couple of hours before his deployment in Iraq and Mav kisses him on his forehead and his lips. It all sounds and taste like the goodbye he never wanted to exchange with this man.
Maverick wears them around his neck, along with Goose's at the beginning, and then just them when he gives Goose's to Bradley. He never stops wearing them: not when Ice goes in remission, not when he's on a mission and then testing planes that go so fast he can barley explain the sensation of flying them, not when cancer comes back and takes away Ice's voice once and for all. He wears them and touch them everytime he misses Ice. It happens a lot, it will always happen a lot.

I’m so sorry I’m on and off of here. Super stressed. I’m not a huge fan of this but I am tired so this is what you get.
I’ll bring out something better soon! I promise!
In all honesty I know others also struggle with this but I have been HATING my work of late.
Thank you for all the support.
Well I’m tired XD. @somerandomdudelmao I just want to give you this is tribute to your comic and a personal thank you
You have been one of the biggest inspirations to me and I know you probably hear that a lot, but to me it means the world, so thank you!
I'm back!!!!
So these are the first batch of MWII MP operator cosplay guides. I decided to stick to the standard skins for these six, due to both popular demand and level of detail. I've found some of the other skins released for some characters to be too fantastical or not bearing enough realistic detail to be worth a breakdown.
Anyway, I've got six people here for everyone: three from SPECGRU and three for KORTAC.
A reminder for those who are a little out of the loop:
Some of what you may see may not be commercially available as it either might be government sales only, or not physically exist in that colour/pattern.
If you have any questions about what you see here, or any suggestions, corrections, or requests, please don’t hesitate to leave it as a note or in a reblog!
And please share this (and past and future) post around, so as many people can see it as possible. I want to share and spread this knowledge with as many as possible!
Guides are under the cut!

Thanks again for all of your ongoing support! It's the notes and reblogs that make this worth doing!
sorry guys im tickling the pickle

Love when writers do an insane amount of unnecessary research for their fics. I follow an author that did like 8 months of intense research into 14th century Scotland so they could write smut about it, and guess what. It was some fucking incredible porn AND I learned about old Scottish politics
made a new fanfic!!

Kindergartens AU scribble!
do you ever read a part of a fanfiction that you were like "this can't be that bad"
AND IT ENDED UP BEING SO FUCKING TRAUMATIZING
like you have your mouth open and eyes shot while reading it, at some point having to press your home button out of pure shock because that part of the fanfic is just so morally fucked up
and then you come back and keep reading
Literally
“Listen to the child”
Yes! Please! Let’s listen to the children who still look at war and violence with terror and revulsion instead of resignation. Instead of “this is how it’s always been.” It takes a child to ask “why?” It takes a child to look at the bad parts of our world and ask why no one has bothered to change it.
But it also takes every last person in the chain of command to put a weapon down. To make the personal choice to no longer stand for an unnecessary war. “Shouldn’t we fire?” One man asks. “No,” says the woman in command. Each person who hesitated to fire when the queen gave orders. If any one of them had fired, as we know from Jacob firing the gun, would’ve broken the moment to lay down arms. Each person’s decision to choose peace impacted the end of the war.
I will live a long, happy life. Because dying a great death, an honorable death, is a myth to idolize war by those who profit off of war. The ones who only have power when there is fighting. And none of those who died are dishonorable or no longer a hero, right? They knew no other option. They can be wrong and still be heroes.
This movie fights against the influx of child soldier media by simply asking to no longer need soldiers.
I hope we all can live a long, happy life.
very fast sketch ~giant woman~
I Believe in RED supremacy🙏🏻💘
The scene towards the beginning of the Sea Beast when Jacob gets tentacle smacked into the water, I want to know what was going through his head right before that that his immediate reaction to seeing the tentacle coming towards him was to simply put his hand up in a “stop” gesture. That fucking sent me, it was absolutely hilarious. Does anyone have a gif of that scene yet?
I love you How to Train Your Dragon. I love you The Sea Beast. I love you “everything we know about you is wrong”. I love you “you can be a hero and still be wrong”. I love you children questioning generations of propaganda. I love you adorable yet dangerous creature winning over a child with an act of kindness in the midst of a war. I love you children ending your parents wars through an unlikely friendship. I love you children teaching your community to chose forgiveness and peace. I love you power of friendship overcoming generations of hate.
