I think this is one of the most important pieces of advice for writers đ I don't know how many good ideas have escaped me forever because I didn't write them down before drifting off into sleep, argh...
when you're thinking about writing as you fall asleep, and you hear a voice say "that idea is so good you'll surely remember it in the morning," don't listen. that's the devil talking. write that shit down.

oooh yeah
reblog and put in the tags non-canon ships that you genuinely think should be/shouldâve been canon
I actually can't quite believe that I've posted 8 chapers on ff.net so far, but it does feel nice to have this little "side project" and to simply write something that brings me joy, distracts me from my current, difficult personal situation, and maybe even makes another person smile or feel the feelings TM or whatever. Reading fanfiction is just so magical - one can read exactly the type of stories one feels in the mood for, and there are so many crazily talented writers out there that it makes my head spin!
Can't wait to continue my story, hehe :)
"Razor's Edge" by W. Somerset Maugham
If you see this youâre legally obligated to reblog and tag with the book youâre currently reading
What is canon lalalalala sorry I can't hear you over the sound of my favorite character being VERY MUCH alive and well, thank you
I looooove ignoring a character's death in the media I like, like what do you mean they're dead no they aren't they are alive and I'm having a cup of tea with them right now :] no I'm not in denial shut up shut up shutupshutupshut
Why do I feel so called out?
Honestly I'm currently only rewatching older Law and Order: SVU seasons but I will very likely never watch the new ones without Amanda Rollins in it! She seriously is one of the best, nuanced, most complex characters of the show and watching her growth and her development really was one of the best parts of the later seasons, so why exactly let such an interesting character go???? I could warm to Amaro and Rollins and even Carisi, but I'm not interested in doing that again and again. It's like Grey's Anatomy, at some point I simply stop caring when they introduce new characters because it's just not the same anymore...
Every time I remember Kelli Giddish is leaving I start seething. Rollisi was just getting to a pivotal moment and I want to scream, Mariska fought for her and who is this new dillweed who thinks Rollins is the one who needs to leave. Rollins is one of the most complex characters on svu and she has had so much growth the last 3 seasons learning to love and be loved, I cannot fathom this reasoning
not gonna lie, every wes anderson movie gives me exactly this vibe
I do wholeheartedly believe Wes Anderson is a sick sick freak. I like his movies but I definitely think this guy has like a hidden room in his spacious french apartment that he slips into quietly each night and it is just filled with tiny little doll replicas of all the actors he's ever used in any of his movies and he puppets them around and mimicks their voices and shit. and sometimes he'll text Owen Wilson pictures of his little doll with a comb or something from an untraceable number and pair it with like "see how I take care of you Owen?" and then the following day Owen Wilson will find him at the service table and go, "Geez Wes look at this," and Wes will pretend to be all concerned and horrified but there is this calculating almost eager look in his eyes that unsettles Owen Wilson. and the next time Wes is having a little soiree with all his actors, his beloved beloved actors, maybe Owen Wilson will accidentally get lost on his way to the beautiful bathroom and find that little room and see all those dolls and his throat will hitch with horror. And before he can call Bill Murray or Adrian Brody to look a dark silhouette will appear in the doorway and Wes looks sort of resigned when he says, "I see you finally found my secret, Owen," and Owen Wilson will try and pretend that he's fine with it but they both know better. and Wes will go (the look in his eyes back again) "We both know this can't get out, right?" and he'll grin very suddenly and Owen Wilson will laugh along very nervously and leave the room and eat some brioche and when the evening is over he will rush over to his Prius and frantically click his keys but over the cobbles on the beautiful beautiful street there is the sound of footsteps. and tears are running down Owen Wilson's cheeks but he can't say a word and Wes, emerging from the shadows, will gently touch him on the shoulder and say, "look, I'll drive you to the airport, huh?" and Owen Wilson will try to refuse but they both know it's futile. and, halfway through the drive, Wes Anderson will smile and say, "I'll miss working with you" and then perfectly jump and roll out of the car, wiping off his corduroy pants, while Owen Wilson's Prius swerves into a local patisserie, bursting into flames
My first attempt at writing FanFiction myself :)
So I've really been wanting to get back into writing. I've actually started to write poetry again after a years-long break but I'm also trying to do stuff that is somewhat light and more "fun", and after discovering my love for fanfiction, I am now trying to give it a go!
So this is my veery first fanfic and updates will happen - hopefully - probably every couple of days. I know that I'll write only sapphic content so that's probably somewhat niche, especially because with Law and Order: SVU, there doesn't seem too much of a femslash-fandom, but I guess I write mostly for myself anyway so yeah: Rolivia, here we go!
Oh, my story is set in an alternative universe where Rollins is a teacher and Olivia a school principal.
Trigger warning for later mentions of sa and self-destructive behaviors (e.g. alcoholism), PTSD
I guess it will be mostly comfort/hurt, romance, but in a somewhat darker way maybe?

watches and rewatches the oa over and over until a third season miraculously appears
Unlearning what we were taught to see as the only "correct" gaze to consume and analyze art and media... yeah, it's frigging liberating <3
Watching films with the female gaze is incredible. I have never felt more safe and seen in my life. It's like being able to truly breathe for the first time.
This is such an important take on the "Dead To Me" ending! Yeah, I know. The series is a dramedy and bad things are supposed to happen but I don't feel the final 3rd season really gives credit enough to Judy. Of course, good people die in horrific ways every day. Sometimes it seems that the better and purer a person, the more bad luck they have in life (yeah, I'm talking about reality here - sadly, this has been my experience too often by now). But this story about a very special friendship, a very close bond between two complex, layered female characters really did not deserve this ending. And to me, this whole "bury your guys" and "heteronormative happy ending the billionth" DOES seem kinda problematic. It's like there is no actual desire to commit to the bit and make room for true diversity in TV. It's like, in the ending, the female lead still has to find her happy-ever-after in a male protagonist, and there is this whole emphasis on a heteronormative, "traditional" family life. The bond between Jen and Judy was strong and wonderful and ran deep. There was literally no point in just killing her off. It maddens me that it seems that especially queer women in the media that are not "everybody's darling" always seem to have to pay some kind of price - it's the same with Marla Grayson in "I Care A Lot" - how often do male, heteronormative protagonists get away with atricious deeds?! Yeah, Marla is defo NOT a good person, but there seems to be a whole double-standard-thing going on. And I think the problem can be rooted to the simple fact that the whole entertainment business consists of people and in people in this society, there still is ingrained a whole bunch of problematic, toxic belief systems and stereotypes. I do hope that by raising our voices and questioning such storylines, there will be more happy endings for LGBTQIA+ characters. We deserve them as a community <3
Judy was a queer character in a queerplatonic relationship in which, after years of suffering, frustration and anxiety, she could have gotten to fulfill her dreams, having a family, raising three children, one of them from the very beginning, side by side with her partner.
I don't really care how neatly killing her fits into the bury your gays trope, but the truth is we could have gotten a beautiful, original, queerplatonic found-family ending in a show that entirely revolves around the unlikely but infinitely loving relationship of these two women, and instead we got heteronormative ending number 93837637373738338 and dead queer number 827266262727117.
It looks like true partnership between women, be it romantic or platonic, can never survive heteronormativity. One or both will die, one or both will marry a man and leave.
Truly unoriginal and disappointing. What was even the point of making Jen pregnant if they were never going to raise that child together. What was even the point of giving Judy cancer, just to further traumatize Jen after the death of her mother and husband, just to further traumatize the boys after the death of their dad.
Killing one of the main characters is always an easy way out, I know, it packs an emotional punch and fits the fact that the series is ending because it's the literal ending of the character, but jesus, isn't it the laziest most overused trope in the world. More so if they are women, more so if they are partners, more so if they are queer. Really didn't expect this show to end on such a disappointing note.
Judy deserved so much better. So did Jen and the boys. So did the whole narrative and so did the viewers who where invested in this series. What a total trainwreck.
I watched this movie today and I can only agree with @lovemadethemdoit wholeheartedly! Yeah, the movie might come across as not "educated" or "sensitive" enough but it is meant for a bigger audience, for the general public where transphobia is sadly still a reaaally big thing, so it's kind of "picking people up where they are" and I think that's important. Personally, I also felt a lot of unease regarding the amount of deadnaming going on, but let's be honest, that is something countless trans people still have to face on a day-by-day basis and the movie IS addressing this issue in a pivotal moment, too (SPOILER ALERT: when Lilli goes missing and her father is searching for her in some kind of big furniture store and trying to call her out over the mic, he uses the deadname first - in the end realizing, that he has been calling "the wrong child", finally accepting his kid's identity somewhat more)
terf and bigots on twitter of course not getting that they are the target group for oskars kleid, not their children đ
It's all three for me
maybe she's born with it, maybe it's adhd and lesbianism
And it is so deliciously gay-galing.
I Care a Lot really said gaslight gatekeep girlboss gone girl all in one breath huh
I don't care about canon, I want The Gay TM
"that ship isn't canon! that character isn't gay!" well thats not what the voices told me
Sounds gay either way, count me in

What is with fic writers saying that clothes are "ruined" if they get cum or water based lube or any other substance on them one single time
Are they unfamiliar with the concept of Laundry
Louder for the people in the back, plz
I think something that a lot of people fail to accept is that.....people need to be treated like human beings regardless of situation. "fat people are ok....if they're healthy" "addicts are okay....if they're successfully recovering" "homeless people are okay.....if they're trying hard enough/they're not addicts/they're not gross" . like none of these conditions take away somebody's humanity. but when you add these "ifs", you do make respecting someone else as a literal fucking person conditional. empathy or just any level of understanding is seen as something that has to be Earned in these situations . and it sounds so simple, even obvious, but then you think about it and it is just a really widespread line of thinking.
Okay now this has just made my evening about 100% better, sweet dreams, my fellow lesbians <3
Alex: My name is Alex Cabot and Iâm the new ADA assigned to SVU. And you areâŚ?
Olivia: Not as straight as I thought I was.
And I'm still waiting for Liv to finally come out of that closet and marry her darling Alex Cabot đ
IF Elliot and Olivia finally smash faces on the 26th after two fucking decades - just know that I will literally never fucking shut up about it.Â
As bad as I was when Rollisi finally got their heads out of their asses, I will be unbearable with EO
Title of Fic: "Thin Frames"
Author: DAxilla (rest in peace <3 Your works of (fan)fiction have touched so many hearts and continue to do so!)
Fandom/Pairing: "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit", Olivia Benson/Alexandra Cabot
Synopsis: Not an alternative universe here - in this story, Olivia is working as the dedicated detective she is while Alex is exactly the passionate and ambitious ADA we've all come to love on the show! However, DAxilla gives us just what our hearts need: a beautiful, very well written, emotional love story between these two beauties. She manages to convey their thoughts and feelings with depth and never strays Out of Character, but at the same time, the fic is not your typical slow burn - however, there are still some major bump in the road to domestic bliss and hapiness because Alex is scared of letting Olivia in while Olivia has a hard time figuring the younger woman out. All of this is settled into the crime plot of the fic that really would make a great SVU episode! While the Cabenson moments in this fic are priceless (and the main reason we've all read it, c'mon!), the storyline based around the brutal mutilation and murder of upper-class business woman Samantha Wainscott, who also happens to be the daughter of Judge Wainscott, is such a creative one and composed with so much care, knowledge and detail that it left me awestruck more than once!
It's not as slow-paced as your typical slow-burn but at 31 chapters long, I can guarantee you that it makes for an compelling story that will have you go through aaaalll kinds of emotions.
I can't even express my gratitude that such brilliant pieces of FanFiction exist - and this fic is also the one that truly makes me yearn for a show that openly portrays the relationship between a strong, caring, badass detective and her beautiful, intelligent, sophisticated, no-nonsense blonde ADA girlfriend!

Title of Fic: "The Girl Upstairs"
Author: Â laok
Fandom/Pairing: "Grey's Anatomy", Arizona Robbins/Calliope Torres
Synopsis: Callie and Arizona are both 2nd-year-med students living in the same house off-campus during university terms. They do not get along at first - like, at all. Arizona lives upstairs from Callie and their first encounter happens when she throws a very loud student party, making Callie race upstairs and complain about the noise. Knowing our fierce ladies, it's not suprising that Arizona does not only not back off, but that they enter some kind of weird, but incredibly well written and believable "Who can annoy the sh*t out of the other one more thoroughly"-competition, with Callie watching horror movies as loud as possible during the most inconvenient hours and Arizona playing Disney songs at full volume. They develop very creative insults to haul at each other, their fights becoming a seemingly never-ending source of amusement to their respective friend-groups. However, they both share a passion the other one does not know about (because, like aforementioned, they are too busy getting on each other's nerves and behaving like rabid dogs whenever they encounter each other): They love to cook, with Callie even secretly running her own quite successful "Students-on-a-Budget"-specialized cooking blog she takes great pride in. When a nice stranger starts to leave encouraging comments on her blog regularly, Callie finds herself able to open up a little, although she is still going through a tough healing process after several heartbreaks she had to endure. "C" and "A" start to exchange e-mails, while Callie and Arizona find themselves trapped in a very uncomfortable situation when in one of their classes, they are paired as lab-partners and forced to work together. What begins as a total disaster, though, seems to very slowly unfold into something much more pleasant, maybe even... well, pleasurable?
I love me a good slow-burn and this one really manages to have it all: the enemies-to-lovers arc simply makes the pining, the yearning, the questioning, the misunderstandings between these two even more intense and the author of this fic has really done justice to both characters, managing to let them be very much Callie and Arizona while developing her very own, original story that could (and should, if you ask me!) easily be turned into a lesbian romcom with alll the right ingredients for our touch-starved souls and little hungry-for-happy-ends-hearts. Yes, it is a veery slow slow-burn, but that's exactly what makes this piece of fiction so special because of the way we really get to know Callie and Arizona on a deeper level, the author doing such a great job of giving insight to their fears, hopes and thoughts. I'll definitely enjoy this one again!

Title of Fic: "Pleasure of Business"
Author: Â TheWillOfMythal
Fandom/Pairing: "Orange Is the New Black", Alex Vause/Piper Chapman
Synopsis: Young, beautiful Piper Chapman is a businesswoman on her way up, having founded her own enterprise together with her good friend Polly, is dared by said good friend to visit a high-class, females-only sex club. She awkwardly tries to appear unimpressed but then she is approached by the owner of the establishment itself: Mysterious, sophisticated Alex Vause, who is also amazingly handsome, starts talking to the flustered newcomer and only a little while later, Piper finds herself signing a contract for lessons, err, sessions in sexual pleasure. Alex normally does not take on clients herself, but because her employees are all fully booked, she decides to make an exception (yeah, like that's the only reason Al, come on!) and thus, the two women find themselves together under the most erotic, but also kinda bizzare circumstances of having a client/mistress relationship. While Alex tries, at first, to maintain a stricly professional attitude, Piper soon finds herself absolutely smitten with the older woman who oh so expertly teaches her how to have not only highly satisfying intimate encounters, but who is also considerate, empathic and remarkably clever. The storytelling is excellent, the creative plot makes it all the more intruiging and the character development is so, so believable and really does the characters justice. And well, yeah, the smut is not to be scoffed at, either! Not everybody can write intimate scenes that are not only hooooot times ten but also depict the character's emotions and their growing feelings for each other so masterly.
