OHRweek Day 7: Free

The perfect cue for me to draw my favorite father and children in my favorite season’s colors.

I’ve made up my mind to fill in the rest of the challenge, wish me luck, guyssss!

Their first month anniversary prob was something like this:

Roy: happy anniversary, jaybird. I got you that set of knives you were looking for last week (he pull an all nighter just trying to find a way to ship them on time)

Jason: *panicking because he didn't know it was their anniversary* thank you, Roy, you didn't have to. I have reservations for dinner tonight, don't make plans. (he later was calling all the fancy restaurants he knew just to find a reservation for that night)

Jason is exhausted, injured and anxious, he doesn't want to sleep alone in his flat. So in the middle of the night, he infiltrates Roy's who's already asleep. Jason tends to his own injury, takes his clothes off and slips in the bed next to him. Feeling the warmth of someone's body against his skin helps him feel safe and fall asleep.

The next morning, Roy wakes up to a quasi naked Jason laying next to him. His mind is going ape shit as he wonders if he got too drunk last night. Later, Jason is wandering all chill in his apartment as Roy silently loses his mind trying to recall the night before.

Jason's subconscious : Ah, I'm so lucky to have Roy in my life. Really brings me the affection and support I need to heal. He doesn't even realize it. What a great friend !

Roy's subconscious : Did I do it ?! Did I ?? Fuck, I finally did it and can't even remember, what a loser. Did I fuck him ? I clearly didn't get fucked... So did I ?! Did I do it ??

Honestly, sounds like something Black Widow could do. But being real, I'm curious (terrified) because it would be so funny and ridiculous bahaha

Love when the Justice League thinks Batman is a cryptid. This believe is only further enhanced by the face his sidekick, Robin, is clearly a shapeshifter, what with changing their height, hair style, skin tone, and even gender.

Batman clearly thinks that by having Robin look different every couple of years, it will show that they aren't cryptids like it would if Robin didn't age.

But the Justice League is too smart for that. They figured it out! But they are good friends (colleagues) and won't spill Batman's secret, but they will drop hints to him that they know, to show that they are smarter than he gives them credit for (they aren't.)

When the batkids learn that the league thinks this, they start periodically going to the Watchtower with Bruce, taking turns dressed up as Robin.

The League is surprised as Robin seems to prefer taking the form of a child, perhaps to have villains underestimate them? But they just assume Robin is trying out something new.

The batkids definitely tell eachother about what was said/happened as to further sell the act of Robin being a shapeshifter, because clearly it has to be the same person, Robin knows what happened, so it couldn't of been someone else dressed as Robin.

OML YES PLEASE ‼️‼️‼️⁉️⁉️ I need the batfamily failing to keep up with the team red in action. Peter and Wade being agents of chaos and Matt is so used to it that he is just as chaotic as them.

Jason joining them just because Bruce is looking increasingly more defeated the more he is in the red's ™ presence.

I love them man

One of the reasons I love Spideypool is bcuz Wade's feelings for Spiderman aren't just played off as a joke this time. In almost every piece of media where Deadpool's pansexuality is shown, it's played off as a joke because to film bros, that's all queerness will ever be. A joke. But in the Spiderman/Deadpool comics, it's a bit different.

Like, okay, sometimes they're used as a joke, but ultimately, in the comics, they're actually something important.

I'm just starting issue 13, so I'm still early and don't know much still, so please bare with me herw. But even then, Wade's crush on Spidey is what makes him want to be a hero. His crush on Spidey and wanting to impress him is what makes Spidey more open to their friendship and lead to his character growth, see that not everything is black and white (that one drug dealing thing), and he sees that Deadpool isn't as much of a bad person as he thinks he is. Also, it gives Spidey a friend, which he so desperately needs in this comic.

Also, for fucks sake, he had his wife (dw, Spiderman is on the free pass list. Shiklah signed it and everything) KILL him just so he could go in the after life and revive Peter after he killed him, BEFORE even knowing that Peter was Spiderman. Soulmate behaviour fr

Also, I talked about how his attraction to men is used as a joke, but I want to talk about one scene where him having a crush on Spidey is used for a joke, but it's not the focus.

Love this moment because 1) it's adorable and 2) the joke isn't "haha, Deadpool is attracted to men" the joke is "haha, Deadpool is embarrassed about how much he talks about Spidey." It's a cute moment and doesn't have slightly homophobic undertones.

When the unflappable character sees someone they care about in danger and the mask slips, it's great.

But when the unflappable character sees someone they care about in danger, and the mask DOESN'T slip.

Because they understand they need to be calm and unflappable now more than ever; if it protects them, it will certainly protect the person they care about. So their voice doesn't waver, their hands don't shake. They don't panic. From the outside looking in, they're as calm as could be. They handle it.

But after it's over-when the person they care about is safe, and the unflappable character is alone-they completely shatter. Gasping breaths, sobs, barely holding it together because someone they love almost DIED, and it was far, far too close for comfort.

(Optional: Character that they care about finds them in this state and comforts them.)

And the fact that he started the main plot just existing and being his chaotic self is so funny to me

I love this man. He breaks my heart every time.

I wanted to talk a bit about how TCF is the kind of story where you have to pay attention.

For example, Cale is almost always described as uncaring. Stoic. Almost all his smiles are scammer smiles.

And yet...

Mary said this:

She said it in an innocent way because she was an innocent person. ‘That person is always looking at everything.’ He was meticulously caressing all of his group’s pains. He may come off as indifferent, but it was always done in a gentle way. His heart seemed to be as tall as a mountain. He had healed Mary’s pain that way as well.

We saw this even earlier, though I'll cut the irrelevant parts to make it more clear:

Cale nodded his head at Hans’s statement while observing Choi Han. He had a nostalgic look in his eyes. ...

Cale started to frown as he called Choi Han over. “Choi Han.” “…Yes?” “Hurry back.” .... “Yes sir. I will be right back.” Cale motioned as if he was annoyed, but Choi Han bowed before quickly starting to walk toward the village with Hans. Cale, who preferred this focused Choi Han to the one who had a blank expression, continued to watch him before suddenly starting to frown.

Cale is always paying attention to the people around him, and even when he says he doesn't care, he's always paying attention to the people around him. To their moods and needs.

Which they see and recognizes. Mary's not the only one who has said something about that.

Or who mentions Cale's facial expressions when dealing with death. They can tell that Cale does everything he can to preserve life, and even when it's enemy dead, even when he chose to fight, it still noticeably affects him. Like here, after he led the fight at sea against the northern invasion.

Choi Han called out toward Cale as the representative. He could see the ocean that Cale was currently looking at. There were corpses floating up next to the debris. Choi Han slowly approached Cale. He could see the frown on Cale’s face. ‘…He really has a soft heart.’ Cale started to speak. “How peaceful.” His voice sounded tired. Fatigue was evident in every word he spoke. Everybody became quiet after hearing Cale’s tone. Although he had said something nice, the weight and sorrow in his voice made them all shut up.

I also suspect Cale isn't nearly as good at controlling his facial expressions, as at least one character indicated he was an open book.

Or maybe that's just when Cale isn't trying to scam someone or hide his feelings.

Part of what I find fascinating about this story is that there's all these little things indicating that the primary impression is... Only part of the story.

It may or may not be because one specific guild (that he sent his subordinates to work with) almost killed half of his attack team. 'Due to an unexpected situation', they said. Bullshit.

So he resolved that the next step is to get rid of one of said problems.

When he came out of his office, everyone walked away quickly. Kim Roksoo couldn't care even less why.

"Kim Min-Ah, I'm going to leave for a while; you are in charge of the next mission. The draft plan is in my office," Kim Rok-Soo said calmly.

(If the next day he had the paper work of that specific guild on his desk and he was looking for someone to put in charge of it, nobody said a word.)
