The appeal of MiruMisu / Mithmil is honestly like seeing two collegemates have their college drama and tension due to their personalities.
Then the incident happens that brings out something new and one helps take care of the other until they separate paths.
Then have them round back up together as more older adults and this time it's different. And they'll perhaps be less resentful of the world.
And Kabru has to deal with all that

Like I have a whole fic to write about this, but I adore Kui’s redemption arcs, so to speak. And that’s not even the right word, imo, like the point isn’t that Mithrun had to redeem himself (despite what he himself might have thought); the point is that he deserves to be happy just like anyone else. That he accepts himself and starts to heal and can achieve a fulfilling life.

something ive noticed is that you dont pick a favorite dungeon lord. one of them picks you and youre just stuck forever and will constantly have them on your mind and itll make you so unbelievably sad
Remember how, in the Touden party, everyone had to swap clothes when they changed races, since that was the only way they could feasibly find clothing that fit them in their new body types under such short notice?
Kabru and Mithrun had to do the same thing, and for the same reasons. They had to swap the bottom halves of their outfits to be able to accommodate to their new forms. Normal enough, right?
Normal enough until you realize that Kabru is still wearing his armor, which looks inordinately large on him. Which begs the question: why didn’t they swap the top halves of their outfits?
It’s because…oh god, I can’t even say it with a straight face…it’s because Mithrun’s upper body is too buff to fit into Kabru’s plate armor. Poor Kabru has to lug that thing around like a huge metal circus tent because Mithrun’s too fucking jacked to fit into it himself.
He doesn’t even gaf 😭😭😭
