Long version:

Sooooo long time no see! I haven’t posted here in a long while and that's just...sad. I love this account and all of you! But as I am sure all of you can understand life decided it was going to be come to overwhelming to endure. I lost alot, hurt alot, became horribly depressed, had not creativity and was unable to make anything. By the time I had the ability again to make anything I felt I had let you all down. I was afraid to come back. But I finally decided too and try to make some amends with all of you. Thheeennn tumblr decided to nuke itself right as I had made the decision! It breaks my heart that I am going to lose this account. It means so much to me. When I started this account I was in a bad place too. Lost my job, lost my ability to walk, lost my boyfriend, and had to move back to my parents. This account gave me an escape and all of you gave me hope! The fact it is all going to disappear just...hurts so much. So I have decided to try and preserve as much as I can on twitter. As I said above my name there is MisterAlenko. If you all have a twitter and would like to continue to see my work and talk with me please go there! And as I said, if you guys have other accounts and twitters please PM me with your account names and I will follow you there!

Thank you guys for making tumblr the best part of my life. I will miss all of this and all of you so damn much.

Winter Wonderland

"K, wait up! I'll help you pull it!" John laughed at his husbands excitement over what he called the prefect Christmas tree. "You're taking to long!" He called back sticking out his tongue as he started pulling. "Oh yes! How dare the guy that just chopped the tree down take a breather!" He chuckled catching up to him and taking the trunk in his hand and pulled along. "You know we could have brought them along and share this with them." He playfully elbowed Kaidan who shoved back snorting. "Yeah right! One Shepard around an axe is good enough for me!" He laughed as John's face contorted in mock disapproval and hurt. "For your information, I did a fabulous job chopping down that tree." He lightly pulled the base of the tree into Kaidan's butt who jumped a bit and lightly punched his chest in return. "Ohhh yesss!" Kaidan paused. "If by fabulous you mean completely missing the tree 12 or 13 times every other swing!" "Oh you! That's it!" John drops the tree and axe in one movement to tackle his laughing mad hatter of a husband into the nearest snow bank. They wrestled around in the snow for a few moments before settling. Kaidan laid on top of John laughing for a moment before sitting up. "On second thought, maybe we should have had Mom and our son come along." He smiled down at John. "This would have been a great opportunity to show them both how NOT to chop a tree down!" Its a good thing John loves his husband otherwise he would have had a face full of snow.... MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAY’S ALL! I hope you all enjoy this! :3 Decided I wanted to bring in a few of my OC’s finally. (Aka Kaidan and John’s kids.) I’ve wanted to for a long time but honestly I’ve been afraid of the back lash but whatever! Mshenko - No Seafood or Mushrooms, Please...

Kaidan looked over at his boyfriend on a stool that sat on the other side of the kitchen island with a raised eyebrow. "You're joking right?" John swallowed down the water he was drinking while shaking his head. "No. I don't joke when it comes to Seafood and Mushrooms." Kaidan let out a small laugh of disbelief as he continued to stir the tortellini in the pan. "Why? Seafood is great. Like smoked Salmon, I love smoked Salmon and mushrooms are great in a lot of thi-" Kaidan was cut off by his boyfriends rough grunt. "What?" "I just don't get you people! How can you willing digest a fungus?" Kaidan almost started laughing at his boyfriends horrified yet thoroughly disgusted face. "K, mushrooms ARE fungus! Why would you eat them!? And Seafood...well after having fish it just makes me feel like a murderer. Plus I have put so much time and money into keeping those little bastards alive I'm sure as hell not going to eat them!" Shepard shook his head vigorously like he was trying to shake the thought out of his head. Kaidan turned back to the cooking hoping to suppress the laughter that was threatening to burst out of him at Shepard's passion on the subject and his cute crinkled up nose but he couldn't hide the shaking of his shoulders. "Are you laughing at me?" Shepard asked with a tone of mock hurt. Kaidan lost it and started cracking up. By the end of his laughing fit he had to wipe away tears. He turned back to his boyfriend who was giving him a look that said 'Really?' but was smiling. "Well I'm glad my pain is so funny!" "I'm sorry, Shep but your face was just...hysterical! But I promise no Seafood and Mushrooms for you." Shepard smiled and got off his stool making his way over to his boyfriend who quickly turned back to the pasta to make sure he hadn't burnt it. He wrap his arms around Kaidan's waist and kissed his temple. "Well that's good I won't need the Hazmat suit then." Kaidan crinkled his brow in question. "Hazmat suit? Why would you need one of those?" Shepard kissed his cheek. "I really hate Seafood and Mushrooms, K. And if you intended to bring there evil into our home I would need a Hazmat suit." Kaidan had never had the sudden urge to buy Seafood and Mushrooms so bad in his life. This little piece was inspired by a conversation the boyfriend and I had! He is a wonderful cook so the subject of food came up. He discovered I can't cook, like at all, and that I hate Seafood and Mushrooms with an undying passion! We ended up having a very in-depth conversation about what I would do if he decided he wanted Tune Pie, one of his favorite foods, and my reply was I would have to wear a Hazmat Suit! I just had to make this! I see this happening after the Reaper War, happily married but still never get enough time to themselves. So one day they said screw it all! So this is an old pose from my Mshenko comic for Kaidan Porn Week that I decided to put through Blender Cycles. It came out pretty ok, the models are a little rough to deal with but with a little work I smoothed it out! I hope you all enjoy it! <3

"J-John, don't you think we should take this up stairs? What if someone sees us?" Kaidan stammered as he tried to caught his breath. He had been on his way to the Observation Desk from the CIC when the Commander asked him to follow him to Engineering. He hadn't thought much about it, guessing the Commander wanted his opinion on something. The Commander had chatted with Gabby and Kenneth who were just on there way out for the night and causally asked where Adams had been. When Gabby replied he was taking care of some problems below the Commander had smiled thanked them, said his good nights and walked into the Engine room to look for, so Kaidan had thought, Adams but once they had got in the doors he walked passed the stairs. When Kaidan had asked where he was going the Commander had just smiled and gestured him to keep following. ....And before he knew it he was here. Being pushed up against the railing, lips being devoured, and body being caressed as if the Commander was starved for it. He wasn't really complaining but here? In the middle of the Engine Room? And the Commander was already down to his underwear and working on his pants. Suddenly Kaidan felt himself being pulled away from the rail and twirled around by powerful, in control arms. A smile had crept across the Commanders face that was drenched in wicked lust. "I wouldn't worry about it too much, K. There's no one here to see us and if they did it's my ship, my boyfriend, and my rules." The grin widen. Kaidan felt his heart skip a beat and let himself be pulled into another passionate kiss. He had a point, who was going to rat on Commander John Shepard on his own ship? Plus, even if they DID see them who were they going to tell in the middle of a war that had taken out almost all of Alliance command? Kaidan gave in and let the Commander take all control from him. He was being swept away by the strong, roaring, currents of his boyfriends love for him. The Commander had pulled away for a moment and Kaidan took the opportunity to take some control back leaning forward to kiss his neck. What he had missed was the wicked grin on his lovers faces directed at Engineer Adams. ....>_> My hand slipped? *twiddles thumbs*

I loved the pose on the piece before and REALLY wanted to do a Mshenko with it! Sooooooo I did? XD I also wanted to try editing textures and models so SHEPARD WITH HAIR AND TATTOOS! And I find it HOT. Such a bad boy but you know Kaidan loves it! >_>

Sparrow

For @dinchenrockt, who imagined Sam and Kaidan having pancakes on a nice day. I just added a little drama, because this is Sam we're talking about. Read on Ao3

The second batch of pancakes is starting to bubble when Kaidan’s skin tingles in the presence of Shepard’s biotic field. Shepard himself peers at Kaidan suspiciously from behind the archway into the kitchen, like he’s doing recon and Kaidan is an unknown element.

 “Hey, you,” Kaidan says with an amused smile. “Good morning.”

“It is morning by my standards. It is ass o’clock by your standards. Why are you awake?”

Kaidan gestures towards the open window, where sunrise hasn’t quite surrendered to daytime and some enterprising birds are getting a jump on things. “It’s a beautiful morning. Thought I’d spoil you with a nice breakfast.” 

Technically true, on both counts, even if it doesn’t really answer the question. Shepard narrows his eyes, perhaps suspecting there’s more to it, but Kaidan heads off further questions by plucking a piece of bacon off a plate and holding it up.

“Burnt it just for you.”

Shepard makes an interested sound and fully enters the kitchen, snatching the Distraction Bacon and popping it in his mouth. Bacon shouldn’t crunch like that unless it’s in a salad, but relationships require compromise.

“So, bacon. Pancakes.”

“Bacon in the pancakes. With bacon garnish.”

“Fancy.”

“Also blueberries,” Kaidan says, gesturing to a bowl. “And, uh, I was going to make some eggs but I accidentally just made more pancakes.”

“True to your nature.” He kisses Kaidan on the temple. “I’ll get plates.”

“One step ahead of you. We’re eating outside.”

Another suspicious look.

“It’s nice outside, remember?”

“I will concede it is tolerable outside, because I love you. But breakfast made, table set, and it’s what time? How long have you been up?”

Kaidan shrugs a nonchalant shoulder. “I said I wanted to spoil you.”

Still not an answer, but he hands Shepard the blueberries to give him something else to focus on and flips the remaining pancakes onto a platter, next to the pile of bacon, all nestled onto a blue and yellow tray that had been gathering dust in the back of a curio until Kaidan stumbled upon it last week looking for decorative pitcher his mother had asked about. After flipping the griddle off, he leads them to the front porch and sets the trays down on the small table next to the porch swing.

Shepard observes the spread. “Orange juice. Cloth napkins. The ‘good’ silverware. By the way, I still do not understand the silverware hierarchy.”

“My mother will happily show you next time she visits.”

Shepard snickers as he takes a seat. “Well, whatever. You pulled out all the stops. You are spoiling me.”

Kaidan makes a pleased sound as they fill their plates. They’re the same blue and yellow as the platter, with a sunflower in the center and a painted band around the edges. He’d forgotten about them completely until finding the platter. His father used to break them out when they had big breakfasts in the summer. He traces a chip in the paint. Where had they even come from in the first place? His mother? Were they just inherited with the house when his mother took it over from Kaidan’s grandparents? He’d never asked. Maybe she knows.

“Look at all this burnt bacon, just for me,” Shepard says, with a soft smile.

“Just for you.”

No reason to mention that it got burned because Kaidan was too locked in his own head to notice until he damn near set off the smoke detector.

But the pancakes are good, quite frankly. The blueberries are ripe, picked from the bushes out behind the barn just yesterday. The breeze is cool but not cold, the sun pooling at the edge of the porch steps, warm and waiting.

A far cry from the days that weren’t beautiful.

He releases a long breath and forces his mind back to the present, where Shepard is drowning his pancakes in maple syrup because moderation is not a concept he has ever developed a relationship with.

Echo whinnies from the field down the hill, head raised, ears pricked, looking right at them, as though now that she’s noticed their presence she’s offended she wasn’t invited to breakfast.

“Later,” Shepard hollers back at her. “I’m getting spoiled.”

Kaidan rests an elbow on the table – his mother would be so aghast – and chuckles into his hand.

When had he stopped getting up in the mornings for those breakfasts his father cooked? Breakfast had been his forte. The only way he outshined Kaidan’s mother in the kitchen. But that last summer before BAaT he’d stopped getting out of bed for them.

Should have gotten out of bed.

Shepard’s eye is on him again, as he saws into his pancakes and fails to spear a piece of bacon along with his next bite because it’s so brittle it just breaks under the tines of his fork. Once he’s subdued the bacon he nudges Kaidan’s knee.

“You’re awfully quiet for someone who just put out such a magnificent spread.”

Kaidan waggles an eyebrow. “Resting on my laurels.”

Shepard knee stays at rest against his, and Kaidan leans a little more into it. The weight of it, the presence is…reassuring.

The sparrow that wings in from the roof and alights on Shepard’s stack of pancakes is less reassuring.

Fugue Master Post

I'm very proud of this story, and it was very hard, so now that it is complete I wanted to do a master post.

A few minutes more and they wouldn’t have even been on the ship. The Mako was scheduled and ready for drop, both of them suited up and ready with the final checklist completed. A few minutes more, and they would have watched the Normandy burn from the surface of Alchera. But they didn’t get those minutes.

Fugue covers Alchera and the two-year gap before Lazarus. It is a story about grief, survival, healing, and hope. It is about dragging yourself out the pit with your bare hands and rebuilding yourself into something new, not because you want to, but because you have to. It's about leaning on the people you love, and finding strength in your weaknesses.

There is also a cadre of queer grandparents, badassery, Cool Science, guest stars you will recognize, some familiar missions bent into new shapes, and a lot of hating on the Hammerhead. Oh, and the Can.
