to those of you who are moving here from tiktok, from someone whos used both tiktok and tumbr for years...
1. DO NOT censor your posts
dont censor sex, abuse, suicide, dont censor it. we dont have censors like tiktok does, you wont be banned for talking about these things and tagging them properly helps people avoid them (also, we dont have shadowbanning here)
2. we dont really have an algorithm
you follow who you follow, and you see posts from who you follow or what you search. the 'for you page' is basically useless here. this also brings me to my next two points
3. dont crosstag
we get it, on tiktok you have to crosstag for reach, but thats not really a thing here. just tag your posts properly (also posters often leave more info about the post in the tags!! and when you reblog stuff you can leave your own notes in the tags, kind of like the old "repost comments" on tiktok)
4. dont expect to go viral/be famous
"viral" isnt really a thing on here (at least not for the average blogger). your posts will probably get 2-10 likes and you wont get nearly as many followers than on tiktok. thats just how tumblr is
5. blocking is your best friend
tiktok is VERY discussion based, and while tumblr is much more discussion based than other social medias, its still not a good place for ragebait/discourse. dont interact, itll make your experience worse in the end, just block and move on
6. you cant go into someone elses house and start rearranging their furniture
this is tumblr, not tiktok. dont diss old tumblr users for how they use the site or try to change them, thats like going into someone elses house and trying to rearrange their furniture. we've been here longer and we're familiar with the site and its culture, either find your niche, adapt, or find a different app

Lots of thoughts recently. Everything feels plastic.
I could go on and on about why all that AI "art" is bad. I could mention theft, lack of creativity, it's impact on the work field and environment, but countless people have already said all that. I wanted to touch on something that to me is the most utterly wrong about all of it.
Art is more than just something pretty to look at or listen to. It's therapeutic. It's a form of communication. A tool for human connection. It's a pure, human need.

Fanon Papyrus things that need to stop
1. Papyrus losing his shit when he finds out non-spaghetti pastas exist.
Reason why this sucks - It’s blatantly OOC and non-canon:

Reason why this sucks - Papyrus himself gives no indication that the Peek-a-boo with Fluffy Bunny book is his all time favorite and gives it the same level of favoritism as ‘Advanced Puzzle Construction for Critical Minds’.
3. Sans helped Papyrus in his fight with the human.
Reason why this sucks - The idea that Papyrus is so weak that Sans would need to help him (SECRETLY OF COURSE) is not only ridiculous and OOC for Sans but blatantly goes against canon as Undyne confirms that Papyrus is incredibly strong. So. Do people who think this think Sans leaves behind his jobs to follow Papyrus to his training to help him train against Undyne??? How many hoops do you have to jump through to believe Sans is so ~Benevolent & Powerful~ and that Papyrus so ~Innocent & Weak, poor bby.~
4. Sans kills the humans that fall in the king Papyrus ending so his poor brother doesn’t have to UwU
Reason why this sucks - If you think Papyrus would approve of his brother essentially doing what Papyrus himself is supposed to do so he doesn’t have to is hilariously wrong. I mean. You could just think “Sans does it without telling Pap!” but then you also must think Papyrus is too stupid to hear the inevitable news of a human falling in/not noticing a new soul in the collection, so that’s also pretty bad. ALSO. Consider: Sans keeping his promise to Toriel not to harm a human to honor her after her death and trying to find another way by becoming a scientist again, meanwhile as he’s so busy with that Papyrus kills the fallen humans but doesn’t tell Sans because he’s so focused on finding another way Papyrus doesn’t want to discourage him.
5. Papyrus is so oblivious to Sans’ struggles
Reason why this sucks - Buddy, it’s not for lack of trying. You can HC Sans suffering all along with the burdens of the world on his shoulders (even though in canon Sans honestly doesn’t really seem too bothered) but acting like Papyrus doesn’t care or is too stupid to notice is blatantly wrong:

6. Papyrus hates puns so much
Reason why this sucks - Once again super not canon. Papyrus literally has four times the amount of puns as Sans in game, and he actually compliments Sans and Undyne on puns on two occasions.
7. Papyrus doesn’t have healing magic/bad at healing magic
Reason why this sucks - Papyrus literally heals the player to full health both before the fight and if you lose it.
8. Poor innocent cinnamon roll doesn’t like fighting~
Reason why this sucks - PAPYRUS LITERALLY WANTS TO JOIN THE ROYAL GUARD. SURE HE DOESN’T WANT TO KILL ANYONE BUT IT DOESN’T MEAN HE DOESN’T LIKE KICKING ASS. THAT’S LIKE SAYING SOMEONE WHO SIGNED UP FOR THE UFC DOESN’T WANT TO PUNCH SOMEONE.
If only he was able to tell everything.....

Sometimes I forget that art is supposed to be fun, that the whole reason I’m doing it is because I enjoy it.
I think it’s really important for me to regularly remind myself (and all you artists!) that art is first and foremost for yourself. You don’t have to stick to a style, you don’t have to do what other people are doing, you just do it and it’s fun. I think I personally get very caught up with what other people want, and it’s a habit I’m trying to break myself out of.
So here’s me reminding myself and everyone to have fun with what you do and hoping everyone has a happy and great day :)

Let me tell you something about Pitch Black.
Okay, there’s just one thing I need to get out of my system.
So practically 60% of the ROTG Fandom consists on hating Pitch, the antagonist. Most of those 60% of people are BlackIce/Cavity etc. shippers. A lot of the people in that percentage have it in their minds that Pitch would be a violent and abusive lover.
May I just take a moment of your time to go against this statement?
Firstly, let me tell you something that most fail to notice about Pitch. If he finds something that he loves, he will cherish that item/person more than anything – because for Pitch’s heart to be moved, it’s going to take something very goddamn special, because he is dark. Let me also remind you that he once had a daughter and loving wife, true he might have held a different form, but that little spark of Kozmotis that still lingers in him hasn’t been extinguished. Personally, I don’t have a father, but there is one thing I know about them. If they love their daughters, they will do pretty much anything to guarantee she is safe. Even if it means giving their own lives. They would also do the same thing for someone they loved.
Pitch isn’t the type of person to just go around dating anyone he fancies, because he is insecure. He doesn’t like to open up about his feelings, and thinks that if he does open up, it’s just going to get thrown back in his face – much like what happened with Jack at Antarctica. When he tried to get through to him that he understood how it felt to be invisible, and to feel out of place, Jack rejected him. He didn’t even show any sympathy for him, and just told him to leave him alone. In my opinion, if Jack had been a little more considerate, none of the aftermath would have happened (Jack’s staff being broken etc.). Jack could have convinced Pitch to stop, because he had his defences down. Pitch made himself vulnerable because he wanted someone to be with him, because he didn’t want to be alone anymore and he felt the only way of convincing him was to take down the wall he’d built around himself. Pitch may have been trying to manipulate Jack, but he was also trying to gain his trust. And Jack walked away. That would have hurt him.
Pitch isn’t invincible, he feels things too.
Let’s take this into account. If Pitch fell in love with someone, he wouldn’t take advantage of their feelings, because he wouldn’t want them to feel rejected, like he felt. Pitch would be a caring person to whoever he fell in love with, regardless the gender, and would always be willing to listen to them if they needed someone to talk to. You know why? Because that’s what he wants. Pitch has been alone for a long time, even someone as strong and dependant as he is has to want to talk to someone about whatever he’s got bottled up inside him.
Pitch isn’t incapable of loving something, he just doesn’t know how to. Just because he has been known to use violence in his plans, doesn’t necessarily mean he would abuse his lover. For example, Pitch has been alone and not believed in for a long time, as I said before, and if you’re alone and hated for that amount of time, you would start to get desperate. When the Fearlings had full grip on him when he first got turned, that was when he was at his most violent. He destroyed stars and planets, killed people and even turned some children into Fearlings.
As far as I’m aware, he didn’t do anything this violent after he escaped his imprisonment within the cave with Night Light. Correct me if I’m wrong. However, the violence he uses in the movie, is just actions of blind rage. Pitch was stuck hiding under beds whilst all of his enemies were loved and believed in, whereas he had to go through life listening to parents telling their children that he wasn’t real. It can easily make a person go mad. If Pitch was ever violent towards his lover, it would either be a moment of madness when in an argument, if the other said something very hurtful or it was someone he didn’t truly love.
I know most people would have stopped reading by now, but I felt the need to just express my opinion on how some people are portraying Pitch’s character. Don’t think I’m just saying this because Pitch is my favourite character, and I feel the need to stick up for him – because I totally agree that things Pitch has done in the past are wrong and unforgivable. But I just wanted to get my point across that Pitch isn’t a completely heartless being. He has a heart, he has feelings, and he has emotions.
Do not think he hasn’t just because of mistakes he’s made in the past.

To me the way Keeley’s bisexuality has been written so far has been so realistic. She’s making all of these blatantly queer comments about women, yet they’re treated as jokes by everyone around her, and most of the audience. Which is just…yeah, that’s exactly how it is. People do assume you’re joking if you say stuff like that.
It’s so wild that bi women can essentially be out of the closet, making comments about wanting to have sex with women, yet nobody takes it seriously. They don’t believe you’re bi unless you explicitly say so. I’ve been there, thinking I’m out of the closet making comments about women I find attractive, just to find out years later that those people thought I was straight because I didn’t tell them how I label myself.
Maybe this isn’t on purpose or maybe it is, but either way I’m interested to see what Jack brings to the table. To me it’s blatantly obvious that Keeley has a little crush on her and now I’m wondering if they’re going to go anywhere with that. It would be interesting if Keeley has a little fling with her, especially to see how people react to her bisexuality being “confirmed” — when really it’s been there the whole time but people just like to ignore it.
