I finally got around a short for the Arc-V au. It's a little story from Michael's pov after the invasion.
Some Birthday Art!
Some digital art I made for my (belated) birthday, of my two favorites! I'm not entirely happy with how I shaded Jaden's face but other than that it's ok.
Hi! I love your ideas for the signers! Do you think that Yusei and possibly one or both of the twins would get an invitation to the Fortune Cup? Cause that would be awesome to see! Also, would they meet Akiza and possibly the rest of the lancers?
Speaking of, how would the rest of the legacy characters interact with the Arc V characters? How would they meet? Would they all switch sides to the Lancers or some stay villains the whole time?
Sorry if this is a lot. All the ideas you gave have intrigued me so much and I can't help but ask questions!
Sorry this took me a while to respond to.
I think that it would be a fun homage to the origional to have Leo or Luna duel in the friendship cup, I think it would also be super cute to have Max cheering the twins on.
As for Yusei think it would be kind of funny if he got into the friendship cup via a lottery win or something and he couldn't really turn it down, not sure if that's what I'll do, or if he'll competing in the friendship cup at all, but it's a start.
They'll definitely end up meeting Akiza & the lancers (as well as Crow and Jack) at the friendship cup in some capacity.
I'm still working on how each character will fit in but generally the lancers will meet the legacy charcters in the dimension their from or in the first arc. I also actually think that's a really cool idea to have some of the legacy characters stay villains the whole time or almost the whole time but I don't have that fully thought out yet either so I'll probably write more about that in the future.
& No worries I really like getting questions it can help me go over and somewhat organize my thoughts, or give me new ideas!

Love your ideas for the other series so far in the Arc-V rewrite! What's your ideas for the 5ds characters? (Mainly the rest of the signers and possibly others like Bruno, Sherry, and/or Carly?)
I've been thinking about this since I wrote the 5d's post and you can see my thoughts on Yusei, Akiza, Leo, & Luna there. For this post I feel a little bit more solid in my idea for Bruno and Sherry has grown a lot on me since I first started thinking about what would become this au so I'm going to throw out some Ideas for her.
Bruno: He grew up with Yusei in the tops and is his best friend. He's a professional duel-runner mechanic, so he works to make things like the runners seen in the friendship cup etc. He'll play an updated T.G. deck.
Sherry: She'll probably be a part of the friendship cup. I feel like you could kind of go three ways with her. She could be paired up with Akiza which would be a lot of fun, maybe looking for some vaugue sense of revenge with her. She could be a more solo force, who eventually joins the lancers. Or (least likely) you could pair her Crow and Shinji and have her working to bring down the tops (This is mostly because I've been listening to too much Les Mis lately).
Carly: I don't have tons of ideas for Carly which is sad because I love her. I feel like she could be pretty similar to cannon, or maybe she could be working on Jack's pr team/be his spokes person due to her press experience.
Arc-V AU 5Ds Characters
Yusei: Yusei is living in the tops with his parents working as a scientist on the momentum reactor. He does a little bit of dueling for fun but doesn't think he's very good at it. He's a big Jack Atlas fan boy. And he'll play an updated version of his deck.
Akiza: Akiza is the poster child of an Arc-V version of the Arcadia Movement. I don't know if I'll have divine or not in this au, but regardless Akiza is currently being manipulated and will appear at the friendship cup. She'll get some therapy eventually, and she can beat up some fusion soldiers as a treat. She'll probably play an updated version of her deck maybe mixed with some aromage/aromaseraphy cards.
Leo & Luna: Leo & Luna are mostly stuck in their apartment having never met yusei or the rest of the signers. Sometimes they'll sneak out and hang out with Max. They'll watch the friendship cup and meet the other signers. Leo will probably just use an updated morphtronic, Luna will use her new cards and maybe the naturia archetype.
Bruno: I don't really have to many ideas for Bruno yet but I like him. He could maybe work with Yusei at momentum.
Originally I didn't have much of an idea for Tea or Tristan in the AU which is why I didn't write about them. I really love Tea though and it would be wrong to seperate their friend group more than I have, so Tristan can come along for the ride!
Tea: One of Yugi's only friends, she didn't sign up for a multi-dimensional war but by god she's going to support her friends with pep talks (and maybe some dueling) all the way. Honestly I would love to see the interactions she has with the non DM characters. She is definitely adopting like half the cast. I feel like she'd also enjoy the concept of action duels and duletaining a lot, so I'll definitely give her at least one (probably more) important duel(s). I think she'd be playing a dark magician girl deck or maybe a different spellcaster or fairy deck.
Tristan: He's definitely going to be friends with Joey and start off as a bit of a delinquent like the orgional manga but grow to become a better friend for the rest of the DM gang. He's absolutely going to throw hands with the obelisk force at one point or another. For a deck I think I'd maybe give him a warrior deck of some sort if he ever duels.
Arc-V AU: DM characters
I'm going to expand on my previous post and go over the characters series by series starting with DM! (Just note a lot of these ideas are fluid.)
Yugi: Yugi is going to be very similar to how he was in the early manga and season 0. He goes to a normal highschool and than an after-school duel school (yushow?) In the standard dimension. He carries the box of the millennium puzzle in his backpack as he never finished it because Joey threw the last piece away. Because of this Yugi (provided he doesn't go to yushow) has no real friends and lacks a lot of confidence in himself. He'd probably play an updated Silent Magician & Swordsman Deck.
Joey: Joey is also going to have similar Characterization to the early manga and season 0. He lives in the standard dimension going to the same school as Yugi and doesn't duel. He's just generally a delinquent. (He will get better and eventually become a good friend similar to DM). He'll eventually play some sort of deck involving Red Eyes Black Dragon.
Seto Kaiba: Of all the DM characters I'm definitely including, Kaiba is going to have the most differences from his cannon versions. I have two different ideas for him. Option 1 - He doesn't get adopted (Gozoburo & Kaiba corps by extension don't exsist) and has to do his best taking care of himself and mokuba making a living by doing odd tech jobs and dueling. Here he would probably use a Blue Eyes Synchro deck. Option 2 - He got adopted by the Akaba family and went with Leo to the fusion dimension to create Duel Academy. Here he would use a Blue Eyes Fusion deck.
Bakura: I'm not sure if I'm putting Bakura in but if I do, he'd probably be pretty similar to how he was in DM but without the millennium ring and being Yugi's friend. Or he'd have the millennium ring and be one of the few people who knows what's going on, acting like the cryptid he is.
Arc - V AU: GX
Once again all these ideas are fluid
Jaden: Leo heard that there was a kid who had the power to send other people into a coma, so unlucky Jaden got taken to Duel Academy as a kid. But all the pressures of growing up in such a harsh environment got to Jaden an he snapped. Leo not wanting another Z-arc on his hands decided to give up on using Jaden. After the whole situation was taken care of Leo took Yubel away from Jaden and then let the Doktor experiment on him. This didn't go very well either so he got his memories erased and was dropped off in some sort of academy run facility so the professor could keep an eye on him. Jaden will probably flip flop between a hero deck and a deck more themed around yubel.
Jesse: Jesse is a leader of an underground resistance group to Duel Academy and definitely is in contact, if not working with, Yusho. Probably has his shit together the most out of any character in this AU. I can't decide if he'd still have his Crystal Beast deck or if he'll get a fairy/bug themed deck.
Chazz: For Chazz I have two main ideas, Option 1 - He's stuck working as a secretary for his brothers and is seen as the disappointment of the family, he aould use an updated Armed Dragon/Ojama deck. Option 2 - Here he'll be an obelisk blue in Duel Academy & similar to his characterization before he went to North Academy. Definitely has a rivalry with Aster. He'd probably use a similar deck to his cannon ones but definitely without the Ojamas.

Arc-V AU/Rewrite
I've kind of had this idea for a while for an AU/Rewrite of Arc-V wherein there were the protagonists and a few other characters from the previous shows appeared. I've seen a lot of really good fics with this premise or a similar premise and thought it would be fun to do it myself. It's mostly just a few ideas for a basic plot outline and some ideas for characters.
The basic premise is that Leo Akaba wants to use the legacy characters to fight Zarc or something after he recombines the dimensions. And Declan finds out about this so it ends up being a race to find said duelists. However all of the duelists have lived different lives and are going to be at least partially different from their original versions.
I don't know if this will be a full rewrite or if there will be a jumping off point. Also I'll probably use dub names because I originally watched the dubs.
Characters that will be present:
Dm: Yugi, Kaiba, Joey
GX: Jaden, Jesse, Chazz
5Ds: Yusei, Akiza, Leo & Luna
Zexal: Yuma, Shark, Michael
Characters that I might include:
Dm: Bakura or Mai
GX: Jim
5Ds: Bruno
Zexal: Rio

When fic authors describe Jonouchi Katsuya's hair as dyed.
I get it, okay?
I get that usually you can find a blond delinquent in Japanese media and assume that the hair dying is an artifact of that. But we see that he's been blond since he was a kid, he wasn't rebelliously dying his hair to look like a thug when he was eight.
AND it's thematic okay!
People can assume Jou has dyed his hair and that changes their perceptions of him--they say ah he must be a violent thug, he's performing the Violent Thug Indicators. But he's not, and if he had been dying his hair when he was in the gang I think he would have stopped sometime after becoming friends with Yugi, as a physical demonstration of how he's leaving his violent past behind him.
The blond hair is just another way to indicate what assumptions people make about him not knowing the truth behind them.
For example blond hair = thug but really he's just half American and the hair is natural.
In duelist kingdom he really wants the money and people assume it's because he's poor and wants to spend it on getting cool stuff, but actually it's because his sister needs a surgery.
People choose Jou to duel because they believe he's an idiot and they can manipulate and beat him easily, and he is dumb and easily manipulated but also constantly surpassing people's expectations.
