This Right Here Is My Favorite Exchanges In Good Omens. In Their Discussion It Took Crowley THREE YEARS

This right here is my favorite exchanges in Good Omens. In their discussion it took Crowley THREE YEARS to come up with a counter-argument.

Just saw a teenager dressed up as a pirate on a bycicle blaring Monster Mash as he was cycling through a parking lot. Is it Halloween? I would say so.

The song that Crowley associates with Aziraphale most is I Want To Know What Love Is by Foreigner and no one can convince me otherwise.

god now whenever i think abt shipping aziraphale and crowley i feel subconscious about people thinking I’m thirsting after David tennant.  listen david tennant is a fine gentleman but the good omens fandom has thirsted after Crowley long before DTen entered the equation

‘Rosa’ is by far my favorite episode of the new season of Doctor Who, and I want to thank Chris Chibnall and Malorie Blackman for writing it like they did. History wasn’t all glamorous or beautiful- it was harsh and unforgiving, and this episode didn’t shy away from that. They couldn’t help Rosa on that bus even though they wanted to because she needed to be arrested. She had to inspire Martin Luther King to announce the boycotting of the Montgomery Buses, because it was her not giving up her seat that started the Civil Rights Movement in the US.

That is history written right. It made me so angry watching the blatant racism on screen but that was the way it was back then. And it just made me want to cry with relief when Rosa didn’t move from her seat, because that was one step closer to equality for everyone.

A thought: Good Omens, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Welcome to Night Vale each give off distinct, yet related energies.

The thing that is so exciting about the Thirteenth Doctor is the fact that she’s starting off with a clean slate. She’s excitable and childish and so much lighter than any of the other Doctors since the start of the 2005 series, and that’s because she can be. Doctors Nine through Eleven had their childish sides, yes, but there was so much darkness there behind their eyes and actions. So much pain. He was the last of the Time Lords. Until halfway through Eleven’s journey he believed that he had committed the most atrocious act of murder. But when Gallifrey was saved there was hope. Hope for the next day. Hope for the time when maybe, just maybe, he wouldn’t be so alone anymore. Twelve started out colder and more aloof but by the end he’d thawed considerably and even told the Doctor he would become to ‘Work hard, run fast, and be kind’.

And she does, and she is. She doesn’t hold onto the burdens of the past. She’s not the murderer of her people. She’s not the last of the Time Lords. She’s lost her family, and there’s real sadness there when she talks about them to Yasmin and Ryan and Graham, but she’s learned how to build around the grief and carry them with her. There’s steel there in her when she’s facing evil, but that’s simply the Doctor shining through.

She’s just brilliant.

No matter how many times I’ve rewatched it, I still feel a thrill whenever I hear Thirteen referred to as Doctor. The gender doesn’t matter at all-- Jodie was fantastic!

I love seeing all of those pictures of Jodie during the premiere screening of DW when she’s standing in front of the Tardis. It’s so awesome that she gets the chance to do that after we’ve seen Christopher and David and Matt and Peter do so, too. She finally gets a chance to shine as the Doctor and hopefully this starts a long-term precedent for the show.

I guess I don’t mind David Tennant playing Crowley but I’m just confused as to why they have him be ginger when in the book it CLEARLY STATES that he’s supposed to have dark hair.

No joke, after I read Good Omens for the first time, if I ever turned on the radio for a month afterwards I heard a Queen song playing.

i never talk about these things but i can’t remain silent.

i know tumblr doesn’t give a SHIT when things happen in countries outside the “most popular ones” (such as the usa & england). it’s true, don’t lie to me. y’all don’t give A FUCK. not every issue and problem in said countries gets the appropriate exposure but in general shit shows up on the news WORLD FREAKING  WIDE. you set up donations, you help out, your spread the word, you say “pray for x”……

southern europe is burning.

my country is burning.

people are dying - at home, on the road, trying to run away, in their cars.

yesterday my country had 300 active fires.

people are losing EVERYTHING they own.

i have a friend that is on a train right now passing through places that have been burnt to the ground and she says the smoke is so intense it’s getting inside the train and she can barely breathe.

and yet, even though several people (myself included) have been trying to bring awareness to what has been happening in southern europe… what we get from most of you, those not part of the countries suffering, is silence. we don’t ask for money, we don’t ask for shit other than a reblog to spread awareness… something you can delete in 24/48hrs if you wish.

i don’t know what to tell you. i’m angry. i’m frustrated. i’m disappointed. i feel like i’m screaming into the void. “a reblog does nothing” - you know that’s a damn lie, you know exposure always helps, you know people start paying attention when posts on social media become popular. my country in particular is a small one, we get ZERO exposure. y’all are only starting to figure out we even fucking exist bc of the shit we’ve been winning lately.

but hell, if the EU doesn’t give a shit, why should some user on tumblr dot com?

again, i don’t know what to tell you so i’ll let the images speak for themselves:

Jenny Ran Into The Mysterious Woman Quite By Accident In The Streets Of The Planet Earth, Which She Had

Jenny ran into the mysterious woman quite by accident in the streets of the planet Earth, which she had learned through her various journeys that her father often frequented. It was a busy, curious place, this third rock from the sun, and she thought maybe she could understand why he liked it so much.

“Oh! Excuse me, seems I lost track of where my feet were going. Entirely my fault.”

The woman was dressed rather oddly, with a long lilac-colored overcoat and a dark shirt with suspenders. But it was the large eyes staring back at her that caught her attention the most. They were old. Incredibly old. Old, and wise, and shining with an inner fire that Jenny instantly recognized.

And the woman seemed to know she would run into Jenny, because she quite simply held out a hand and handed her a bouquet of flowers.

“Violets,” she explained. “They represent remembrance. And I never forgot about you for a day, Jenny.”

An electric shock seemed to shiver down Jenny’s spine. It would be too cliche to ask how this woman knew her name; besides, she began to suspect she knew already. She barely dared to hope. It should be impossible.

Shouldn’t it?

“Who are you?” She asked anyway, because those eyes were too familiar even if they weren’t the deep brown she remembered.

And the woman smiled, a wide unfettered smile. “I’m the Doctor.”

The Moment When One Of Your New Favorite Books References/reads Like Your Absolute Favorite Poem. Dear

The moment when one of your new favorite books references/reads like your absolute favorite poem. Dear God what is it with all these awesome parallels to Yeats’s ‘The Second Coming’? My fangirling cannot be contained!

Alec Hardy’s offhand comment about ‘The Six Million Dollar Man’ raises so many more questions. Is he a secret nerd? Did he grow up watching Star Trek and Lost in Space too? SMDM aired in the early 1970s, following Lee Majors’ time as Heath Barclay on ‘Big Valley’, and it was an American production so I’m just imagining him as a ten year old finding some way of finding it on television in Scotland and then getting really excited years later when the seasons of the show were rerun and then the tapes and dvds came out.
