Classics
A glint in the eye, like they know something you don’t. Books in different languages, scattered across every surface. Red wine, and blood, and secrets. Spirits stirred by the glorious weight of eras past, tongue heavy with the words of dead men. Marble busts of Greek philosophers. Reality dulling against the music of myth.
Philosophy
Milky tea and introspective mornings. Sun filtering gently into a quiet room. Reading in nature, sinking into the sound of the wind, birds or water. Margins filled with annotations. Long, grand hallways and the echo of footsteps. Conversations that last for hours, but feel like minutes.
Sciences
Notebooks filled with scattered calculations, terms, and theories, partnered with small pieces of flora and miscellaneous clippings. ‘Eureka’ moments. Wild eyes and chewed lips. Lying awake all night, your head buzzing with ideas. Piles of meticulous notes. Hunching over desks in dim lamplight. The feeling of puzzle pieces fitting together. The smallness of humanity, and the vastness of existance.
Fine Art/Art History
Huge, baroque ballrooms with renaissance paintings on the ceilings. Staring up at them until the real world dissolves and the images spin around you. Early spring. Foxes in the snow. Classical music. Vintage teacups, and slow blinks. Laughter covered by fingers. Dancing where no-one can see you.
Political Science
Fast strides and black coffee. Enthusiastic debates with peers, and discussions with your professor. Pages and pages of notes, scrawled so hastily they’re almost illegible. Running through the night, laughing with friends and going places you shouldn’t. A cunning smile from across a room.
History
Grand old buildings, shadowed with age and brimming with secrets. Old, rusty daggers. Tentative hands and determined eyes. Fingers stained with nicotine and ink. Old books and letters, shrouded in dust, that no-one’s read in a hundred years. Touching the pages, and understanding what it was to be alive in another time, seeing what they saw and feeling what they felt.

plays her own music on the guitar, she sometimes covers lorde’s songs, knows random history facts, shows particular interest in english history, speaks latin and ancient greek, drinks tea three times a day, introverted, lights candles when studying

speaks italian, plays multiple instruments, though the flute is her favourite, good with animals, wears turtlenecks and golden jewellery, doesn’t like people, doesn’t respect people who have no general knowledge, wants to attend the milan conservatory

has great humour, sometimes sarcastic, favourite book is vile bodies by evelyn waugh, great at math and wants to be an architect, vegan, she only trusts herself, listens to gang of youths, goes to art museums all the time
melpomene
thalia is her best friend even though they are complete opposites, sees life as a tragedy, has read all of shakespeare’s works, rhetoric speech is her way to express herself, her dream is to be an actress, deep blue sweaters and beige cigarette pants are her favourite things to wear
terpsichore
a great dancer, does ballroom dancing and ballet, plays the harp, goes to her favourite café to write music, doesn’t use her phone, writes in fountain pens only, speaks only when spoken to, daydreams about her university years and can’t wait to find the university she’s going to attend’s library and spend hours in it
erato
hopeless romantic, though still very dark academia-ish, secretly a matchmaker, coffee addict, listens to hozier and debussy (weird combination but she loves it), also listens to ballet music, reads all day every day, wants to major in english lit, writes poetry when she isn’t reading
polymnia
wants to take linguistics, her biggest pet peeve is people who don’t speak correctly (naturally, she corrects them all the time), studies to podcasts, great at debates and is interested in politics, strong opinions about everything and is not afraid to speak her mind, bi

reads tarot cards, great at astrophysics and wants to study the subject in uni, first thing she asks when meeting someone is what their zodiac is, silk blouses and golden jewellery (rings mostly), has a moon journal, favourite song that isn’t anything lana del ray is drops of jupiter

The Oh Hellos: You ate a plant that looked pretty and now suddenly you’re in golden fields in a high fantasy world as two extradimensional bards narrate your tales. Cosmo Sheldrake: You ate a plant that looked pretty and ended up in a dreamland where a spirit is guiding you without explicit care for your safety and only a focus on making sure you follow the letter of the land’s laws. Superorganism: I have no clue how it happened but liquid got turned into music and I’m not complaining. Porter Robinson(in Worlds and past it): Someone assembled a bunch of corrupted files of human memories back into an understandable form as songs. (Madeon but less happy) Madeon: The sun and fast moving winds. Like if high fantasy was modernized to the 21st century. (Porter Robinson but less sad) Miracle Musical: Fell into a box of old film reels and now you’re in a nightmare that you aren’t scared of, until you reach The Mind Electric and you are absolutely 100% horrified. Lemaitre: If Porter Robinson made pop and was more than one person. (also tfw you’re a band from norway with a french name and song lyrics in english. mr. worldwide) Half Alive: AJR but orange and less memory based. AJR: Half Alive but brown and less abstract. Caravan Palace prior to Chronologic: The mafia is pissed at you(or you ARE the mafia?) and nobody speaks in full sentences. Caravan Palace after Chronologic: Somebody dipped my electro swing band in a new coat of paint. Cavetown: Not everybody has a guitar and experience with writing good lyrics so somebody’s gotta be the one to say what everybody wants to communicate if only they could make music. Glass Animals in ZABA: Forest spirit teaches you about the wilderness until you piss him off bigtime and and he chases you out. Glass Animals in How To Be A Human Being: Who gave the forest spirit access to the personal lives of several troubled people and WHO GAVE HIM THE RIGHT TO BE SO ON-POINT WITH HIS TAKES ON THEM???
From Apollo to Commercial Crew: Get To Know Historic Launch Pad 39A
Originally built for the massive Saturn V rockets that sent astronauts on Apollo missions to the Moon, Launch Complex 39A also served as one of the two launch pads used by the space shuttle. Between Apollo, Skylab, Apollo-Soyuz and the space shuttle, this launch pad has been the starting point for many of the nation’s most challenging and inspiring missions.
In 2014, SpaceX signed a property agreement with NASA for use and operation of the launch complex for 20 years, and the company modified the facility to prepare for the processing and launch of its Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets.
The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying the company’s Crew Dragon on its Demo-2 flight test to the International Space Station with NASA astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley will lift off from the same historic site where astronauts first launched to the moon. Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida is also the site of dozens of space shuttle launches that helped build the orbital laboratory.
Launch Complexes 39A and B were constructed in the 1960s. Both launch pads have a long history of supporting launches for the Apollo and Space Shuttle Programs. Launch Pad 39A was the launch site for 11 Saturn V Apollo missions, including Apollo 11, the first Moon landing. The pad also was the launch site for 82 space shuttle missions, including STS-1, the first shuttle launch, the STS-125 final servicing mission for the Hubble Space Telescope, and STS-135, the final shuttle mission.
After the space shuttle was retired in 2011, we began the process to transform Kennedy Space Center from a historically government-only launch facility into a multi-user spaceport for both government and commercial use. On April 14, 2014, the agency signed a property agreement with SpaceX for use of the launch site for the next 20 years.
SpaceX upgraded and modified the launch pad to support its Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets. The company also built a horizontal processing hangar at the base of the pad to perform final vehicle integration prior to flight. The first SpaceX launch from the pad was the company’s 10th commercial resupply services (CRS-10) mission for us. A SpaceX Falcon 9 launched a Dragon cargo spacecraft on CRS-10 on Feb. 19, 2017. The Dragon delivered about 5,500 pounds of supplies to the space station, including the Stratospheric Aerosol and Gas Experiment (SAGE) III instrument to further study ozone in the Earth’s atmosphere. Combined with SpaceX, we’ve launched more than 100 missions from Pad 39A.
Because of our partnership with SpaceX within our agency’s Commercial Crew Program, Launch Complex 39A will once again be the site of crewed missions to the space station.

I can never find the right words to tell people what I’m thinking. Telling them I’m tired doesn’t work, but I can’t seem to vocalize that I’m mentally exhausted and sick of existing. Telling them I’m sad doesn’t work either, but I can’t explain that I’m struggling not to kill myself and that the joy in everything in my life is gone and when I wake up to the sun in my eyes, I have to struggle to get myself out of bed because most of me didn’t even want to wake up at all. I can’t tell them I’m numb because what I’m feeling is so much more complex than numb and I don’t have the vocabulary to tell them that I feel like I’m drowning and it terrifies me that I feel nothing as it’s happening, and that my insides want to scream but I can’t even find it in me to shed a tear anymore, that every single aspect of my life feels like it’s shaded in grey because someone sucked out all the colors but I can hardly even remember what colors are because I can no longer remember a time I didn’t feel like this. No, I don’t know how to say that. So I just whisper “I’m fine.”
