I was desperate for Sylus's point of view during the first time that MC meets him in the Alike and Cornered Beast chapters of Long-Awaited Revelry. I wanted to know why he touches MC so reverently but also quite brutally, so I spent a lot of time thinking about possibilities and this is the result.

It really bothers me in the game that the clearly traumatic experiences MC undergoes in the canon storyline don't seem to have any consequences for MC's character development. Yes, yes, this is a self-insert gacha mobile game, blah blah. MC has PTSD from chapter 4 (you know the one), and no one can convince me otherwise, so I re-wrote the auction bits from Sylus's POV to fix this grievous oversight, because I am also firmly convinced he is a champ at handling MC's trauma.

I thought that MC was too mean to Sylus in his 4 star No Way Out card, and I didn't like it, so I fixed it. I mean, I rewrote how it went like a proper rabid fan. Sylus shows up injured near MC's place, MC tends to his injuries, and he takes advantage of the situation like a vampire and secures himself an open invitation into MC's home whenever he 'needs' it.

You're suffering from insomnia due to untreated PTSD (probably, I don't know, I'm not a doctor or a therapist) from your family getting, well, exploded, and the longer this goes on, the sloppier you become in combat and just existing, and a bad idea is born (let's go to the club alone, drink enough to finally get drowsy and then go home and finaaaaally sleep it off). Zayne treats some of your injuries, Mephisto does Sylus's stalker bidding, and guess who appears at the club right before you're about to probably violate the Hunter's Association code of conduct on an idiot who has a hard time taking no for an answer? Spoiler alert: he can't sing but he can dance, even if he chooses to dance to the music he'd rather be hearing than the music actually being played. Full of clichés but hopefully with refreshing twists.

Greetings, I am Diluc Ragnvindr.  Welcome to Southern Gaciea. Unlike the North, East, and the West, the South is a tourist spot for outsiders. It's a closed off country, so outlanders will need to submit their documents to the department of domestic affairs.  Perhaps you do not remember, but you've encountered many interesting individuals upon your arrival such as…   Captain Dainsleif, the famous Western knight turned retainer for both Prince Lumine and her missing brother, Prince Aether;   Lord Kamisato, the Eastern noble who controls Gaciean trade with just a flick of a wrist;   Chief Albedo, the Head of Domestic Affairs and Chief Alchemist from unknown origins;   Justice Ajax, the unreasonable Northern politician whom I often argue with;  …And, of course, Duke Ragnvindr, the Southern Head of Military Affairs. The perfect date!

Prompt: Genshin men and women’s ultimate idea of a date by their standards!

Characters: Diluc, Shenhe, Jean, Cloud retainer, Arlecchino, Kujo Sara, Furina

Jean

Jean ,despite her upbringing and high class education, isn’t very picky. What she values most is the effort and thought put in. To earn her heart is relatively easy. Just be a cute little thing and offer her gifts and flowers to cheer her up. Compliment her and overall just look at her with eye contact and a smile as she chats your ear off about the latest romance novel and how disappointing it was.

For you? Your best shot is to go out of your way to pick her favorite flowers, and dress yourself up enough to show you care then she wouldn’t mind where it was even if it was a picnic. In that scenario you would also have to show thought and care. You can’t just smack a blanket everywhere. You have to pick somewhere the knights are available or with a nice scenery. The tree at windrise is perfect as its already her safe spot. A picnic is actually perfect, Jean is a romantic but there’s nothing more romantic than seeing how you fret about every little detail, like a bird preparing the perfect nest for its mate, she is more flattered by effort than compliments. Even if the food you prepared isn’t the best she can see how you tried. Afterall with enough practice you could prepare it properly in the future. When she saw your effort she was starting to swoon. Keep up the effort and you’ll have her last name in no time.

As for how she’d set up the date? A casual lunch at Good Hunter and a stroll through city to Springvale because the scenery is beautiful and the wind is nice but not too cold. She’ll pay for the meal and you will make up for it by being her entertainment. But she’s also picked that route because the wind can pick uo and get a bit chilly with the lake right next to path, giving her the perfect opportunity to offer you her cloak, just like a true Gentlelady!

Diluc

Oh he’s difficult! Not a romantic, not a small talker, not too expressive, not too friendly either. You basically court him the way you would earn the trust of a feral cat who’s never been pet before. Patience and lots of perseverance. The best way to earn his heart however is to be interesting. Go to the bar when nights are slow and tell him interesting stories. Some new fact you learned? Questions that make you stand out from any other bachelorette looking to score it with him. Like “whats your second favorite color? Whats your first memory? Does his hawk have a favorite color?” I should mention to not get too personal too quick. But overtime he maybe endeared by your odd conversations, you stand out in a pleasant way that has him contemplating those questions.

Now that you’ve finally got his trust you can ask him out! Very likely he will take the reins. Likely a typical restaurant date. He picks you up, pays, coat if your cold, walks you home. He isn’t the most creative.

As for you? Well you still won’t be able to spoil him because he will pay you back no matter what. He doesn’t have expensive tastes. You prepare a nice picnic meal? You want to go on a walk through town and lunch? Unfortunately he doesn’t really like the idea because he knows it will spark a huge rumor and end up with you probably glared at by many a lady looking for his hand. The picnic idea is however novel to him. Just be sure to pick a area clear of monsters. Not that he wouldn’t immediately leap into battle to defend you but that he might burn the grass to much. Then you would have to move. But he secretly adores how persistent you’ve been, trying to provide for him, trying to handle everything. He secretly likes that. Unfortunately he has a serious poker face so you don’t notice that until later.

Shenhe

Out of all of them i’d say she’d be the hardest to romance because she’d struggle to understand when she is inlove. She likes you yes. But is it different than how she likes being around Ganyu or sitting in the grass? Overtime it does become different but it isn’t until Cloud Retainer points out that she is obviously being courted that she recognizes your efforts. So she return them.

Easiest by far because she has no concept of romance or what is romantic like everyone else but rather just that: she likes you. She likes spending time with you. She doesn’t care if you don’t get her enough flowers or you don’t pick a good enough restaurant. What she likes is you and talking to you. You could pick a dingy street vendor for a date and she’d still love it. Really its cloud retainer who would disprove. To earn her approval you must work to prove you’re worthy and trustworthy too. She won’t give her blessing out freely. And what better way for Shenhe to learn about romance than by example? But truly, Shenhe would prefer a date on Jueyun karst. With fresh flowers and a gentle breeze in the warm sunlight. Just talking to you, alone. She doesn’t like restaurants unless its a slow or quiet day but she will put up with it for your sake.

Arlecchino

Obviously she lives for the luxury. She knows time away from the children is scarce nowadays so she books a private booth secluded from the other guests, a luxury restaurant with the finest of tastes. She will ensure you don’t go away hungry or feel uncomfortable. The difficulty is the timing. The reason its best to leave her to schedule dates is because she will already have made time for such occasions. One date st least per month! Unless of course there’s complications or scheduling conflicts. Rest assured she will make it up to.

If you’re planning a date for her it would be best to follow her line and not surprise her with it because again, her schedule. The most she’ll let you do is probably make the reservation, she’ll pay for it simply because she likes to provide for you. Better to just let her because she isn’t going to let the mother of her children pay for dinner.

Cloud Retainer

Oh you want to romance a full blown adeptus? Good luck making it up that mountain alot. Your offerings do not go unnoticed by her, as she enjoys your gifts more than most mortals. She even clears out monster camps herself in preparation for your visits. As cloud retainer how ever she isn’t too emotionally available.

But as Xinyun she is far more open minded to the idea. Recognizing you as her favorite human she will humor your offer of lunch. She does prefer more traditional methods but not to a great extent. For instance, a decent restaurant with high quality food. Especially if it’s a date. You dont have to pick the most luxurious of restaurants but if you do it is a good impression to her. But putting effort into your appearance is also very important too. She doesn’t expect you to pay for her tab but she would appreciate. She will find some way to repay you.. perhaps a invention to help you in some aspect of your life? Or perhaps a kiss will do.

Furina

Little bit of a tsundere. It wasn’t actually that hard to win her heart, but she didn’t make it obvious until you asked her out. Just stick with the fancy stuff, flowers and sweets as offerings. She is very traditional in that regard. But oh Miss Furina is so lonely, the second she saw your gentle and loving smile she practically fell face first and head over heels for you.

Of course high end restaurants are her favorite. Especially for desserts. In fact you could just skip dinner and go to a bakery instead, that’s probably cheaper. If you offer to pay though do be prepared for it. She won’t spend too much since it is your money but the things she buys aren’t too cheap either. But overall the perfect date for her is mostly just.. having someone by her side. It may end up be her window shopping or shopping with you dragged along but she has a great time like. She has a great time with you by her side :> after that point the dates can be anything as long as you’re not taking her hiking through the mountains or something, she might like to go outside the city for a picnic though. Maybe even see the cute otters.

Kujo Sara

She was also not that hard to win over, but it was much harder to tell when she did. But her coworkers knew when they saw how she seemed to miss you when you left, or how you made her smile. But before you know it, she’s asking you out!

Kujo Sara will pick the best restaurant for your tastes, preferably a bit high end, and she will encourage you to eat as much as you like. Don’t eat like a pig though that is a bit off putting to her. She isn’t too great at conversing though, especiallt in non professional environments. Considering how nervous she actually is to be on a date with you too, its a bit hard to be confident in such a unfamiliar situation. Just be patient and sweet. Overtime she’ll get better and more open with you.

It hurts so fucking much.

I can’t breathe.

I can’t fucking breathe.

It hurts to breathe, it hurts so much.

“Foxy! Stay with me!”

What? Who was that?

“Foxy!!”

The voice. It sounds..so familiar. Who is it?

“Hmhm..” I whimpered, feeling the pain souring throughout my body.

I could feel someone pressing on my stomach harshly but couldn’t make out who it was.

“Foxy, can you hear me?”

“Yes.” I croaked out, still not being able to see who it was.

There was a bright white light blocking my vision. The sun? I wasn’t sure what it was, but I couldn’t see.

“I..can’t see.”

“Hold on.” The voice told me.

In the next second, I felt a very cold feeling get placed on my forehead and get rubbed down my neck and back up on my face. The more they rubbed it, the more my vision started clearing up. I felt as if I could breathe again, but was met with a strong, stinging pain as I did that. Despite not being able to see, I could hear various voices conversing with each other and some even arguing with each other. But I could not make out what they were saying.

“..fuck.” I croaked.

“Easy there, love.”

That voice. I know it now. Ghost. It’s Ghost. I turned towards my right to find Ghost staring down at me, his dark, brown eyes full of worry, something I have never seen from the Lieutenant.

“L-Lituenant?”

“Bloody fucking Jesus. I thought we lost you.” Ghost said in relief, squeezing my hand.

Wait, he’s holding my hand? Why is he holding my hand? What? I stared down at him holding my hand but I don’t think he noticed that I caught that.

“Ghost-”

“Simon. Call me, Simon.”

Simon Riley is his full name. I knew that already, but the fact that he was giving me permission to call him by his legal name? What is going on? What happened?

“Simon..it hurts.” I groaned, holding my wound.

“I know. I know, Foxy. We got the bleedin’ to stop finally and we are on our way to medical now. You’re going to be okay, Foxy.” Ghost, or Simon, reassured me, still keeping hold of my hand.

“What..” I paused, wincing from my wound, “what happened?’

“Fucking sniper that we didn’t see..I am so sorry, Foxy.” Simon apologized again.

Why was he apologizing so much? I have never seen Simon act like this before. I managed to get a glimpse and..there was blood. A lot of it. It stained through my clothes and was on the ground. There was so much. So much.

“Simon..” I croaked, feeling myself get weaker and weaker.

“What is it, Foxy?”

No. I couldn't ask him of this. It's not my right.

“Foxy, whatever it is, just tell me.”

“Why the mask?” I asked.

I could tell Simon was a bit shocked by my question but his eyes never hindered any annoyance nor irritation.

“It's to hide me face. Have I never told you?”

I shook my head, my memory being fuzzy. My eyes ended up staring into my Lieutenant's eyes. I never realized what pretty eyes he had. Despite never seeing his face, I always thought he was handsome. He was hard on me, but also kind to me, seeing as he and I went through the same thing as we grew up. He understood me.

“Foxy?” Simon calls me.

“Yeah?”

Simon froze for a second as he reached for the bottom of his balaclava. Is he..? No he wouldn't. I'm not that special. Unless.. Simon pulled his balaclava up just enough up to his forehead. My heart began racing as I saw my Lieutenants face for the first time. And by God was he handsome.

“S-Simon.” I struggled to speak, the pain becoming too much.

“What is it?”

“It..hurts.”

Simon then leaned in, his forehead touching mine as I could feel tears running down my face.

“I know, Foxy. I'm sorry.” Simon was apologetic.

It's now or never, Foxy. You better tell him now. You're getting weaker and weaker by the minute.

“S-Simon..I..”

“You wha’?” He frantically asked.

It hurts, it hurts so fucking much. I can barely breathe at this point. Simon held my hand tighter, as if he knew what was going on.

“I…love you.”

Simon's eyes went wide, hearing what I just croaked out. I swear I could see tears forming in his eyes, something else I have never seen before. Simon rubbed my forehead, his touch burning my skin but it comforted me at the same time. He then leaned in and his lips touched my forehead, and remained there for a few seconds. His lips were so soft. So soft. And I never felt butterflies in my stomach before until now. For the first time ever, at this very moment. Simon pulled back, staying close to me.

“I love you too, Foxy. You are a great soldier and fighter. You fought so well.” Simon complimented me.

I felt a warm feeling emit my face. Was I blushing? I couldn't tell, to be honest. My head was so fuzzy and my body was so weak. My eyes wandered down again to my wound but I felt Simon’s fingers grab my chin and make me face him.

“Keep your eyes on me.”

“O..kay.”

It was getting harder and harder to breathe. I felt so tired too. I wanted to shut my eyes, but I knew what would happen if I did.

“Simon.”

“Yes, love?”

Love.

“I'm tired.” I whimpered.

I was never religious, but I was scared. Scared of what could be on the other side.

“I know, Foxy. If you want to, then you can go. I'm right here.” Simon comforted me.

Knowing my Lieutenant was here for me helped me. A little. I just professed my love for him and now here we are. Simon continued to rub my forehead and kept eye contact with me, his brown doe eyes soothing my nerves. He had a scar on his upper lip that suited him. And blonde shaggy hair that wasn't super long but was due for a trim. It's getting harder and hard..

“Foxy?”

“Foxy?”

I suddenly felt a jolt in my spine, as if a shockwave went through my body.

“What, what?” I said, feeling as though I got resurrected but the pain was still there.

“You're okay, love. You're okay.” Simon cooed to me.

I have never heard him be so comforting and kind before, let alone to me. I almost felt like I didn't deserve it.

“Did I?”

“Almost.” Simon answered.

It weirdly felt peaceful, like I was just drifting off to sleep normally. It felt great, but now the pain was back.

“Foxy..” Simon called me once again.

I turned to him, seeing remnants of tears that had fallen down his face before. He then leaned down and his lips were on mine. I kissed back the best I could even though it was hard to move my lips. I didn't understand what was even happening anymore but it felt so good. So good that I could almost ignore the imminent pain in my stomach. After a few seconds, Simon pulled away but kept his forehead on mine.

“You can rest now, Foxy.” Simon struggles to get the words out.

I knew what that meant. But I felt okay.

“Simon..”

My eyes were getting heavy, I can't even move my fingers any-

“I love you..”

It hurt to breathe, I couldn't do it anymore. I choked back saying those words and felt my mind go numb and the bright sun blind my vision to pure white. I felt like I was floating, floating forever and above ground. The pain was gone and I was forever floating.

“Foxy?”

“Oh Foxy…”

Soap knows that something’s wrong the moment you call him. You drunk calling him wasn’t exactly out of the norm, in fact, it was weird if you didn’t spam him with texts and tik toks letting him know how much you loved him. 

His team often sledged him jokingly for how whipped he was for you, but it was that adoration and care that let him know within seconds that you weren’t okay. There was no excited shout of his name, no blaring music that you were drunkenly singing along to and none of your friends were yelling at him for interrupting girl's night. 

There’s just silence, a terribly concerning silence only accentuated by the shuffling of clothes and shuddering breaths. He’s on his feet and crashing into the wall on his quest for the keys in three seconds flat. His shoes aren’t even on properly and he’s already in the car when he finally gets a response to his barrage of questions. 

“Johnny?” Your voice is slurred and confused in a way that has his blood freezing. You very rarely got so sloshed you couldn’t function anymore but Soap knew what you were like even then, and this was not it. 

When the phone connects to the car's Bluetooth he’s throwing his phone into the passenger seat and reversing so quickly the tyres screech in protest. He knows where you are, you were always good at updating him if you moved venues but it doesn’t stop him from double-checking. 

He has to ask the question three times before you eventually confirm that you haven’t gone anywhere, his heart rate increasing frantically with each second that passes and he’s not by your side yet. 

“Johnny? Wh’re you? I think somethin’s wrong. Don’t feel so good.” Your whimpers fill the car and Soap starts to drive even faster, blowing through two red lights and a stop sign with little concern over the inevitable tickets and demerits he’ll get. 

“I know baby. Am almost there, just hold on a little longer.” He commanded as firmly and gently as possible. “Ye in the bathroom? Locked the door?” 

Once again it takes a while for you to understand and respond to his question but when you do he allows himself to relax a little. He tries to ascertain where your friend has gone and not for the first time he wants to kill her when you tell him you have no idea where she’s gone. 

“Johnny?” you call for him a few more times as if forgetting you’ve already gotten on the line.

He throws the car into park when he arrives, not bothering with the handbrake and not caring that he’s just stopped in the middle of the road. Cars are honking and people are yelling but he doesn’t give a single fuck, his mind is on a one-track mission. 

He’s even left his phone on the seat in his haste and the door open. Undoubtedly, you’ll yell at him when he relays the details later but he’s willing to cop all of your anger if it means he gets to you in time. 

He runs past the bouncer, outpacing the shouting man and ducking past various security members as he beelines towards the bathroom. Vaguely he recognises that he’s being chased but it doesn’t matter because he makes it to the ladies' bathroom well before they catch up.

It doesn’t even register that the bathroom door isn’t locked like you’d said it was when he bursts into the grimy space because his attention and fury are quickly dragged elsewhere. Namely to the motherfucker that was sticking his hand down your pants as you sobbed and tried to get away with your body’s sluggish movement. 

He’s letting out a furious roar and when the man turns with wide eyes at the commotion behind him Johnny’s fist smacks into his nose with a sickening crack that sends him stumbling backwards bleeding and onto the tile floor. 

It’s only the fact that your legs give out without someone supporting you that stops him from beating the man to death as he grabs you and pulls you against him. 

You’re so out of it that you protest, pushing against his chest as you cry because you don’t recognise him straight away. 

It takes a bit of cajoling and pressing soft kisses into your hairline before you recognise him but when you do you completely devolve into a crying, sobbing mess, collapsing against him even further as you finally allow yourself to feel all of the overwhelming panic you’d been trying to hold off. 

Security’s caught up and the commotion they make as they barge into the bathroom sets you off even further and Soap simply shoots them a heated glare before shouldering past them with you safe in his arms. 

Perhaps miraculously, both the car and his phone are still where he’d left him and Johnny gently deposits you in the passenger seat, clipping your seatbelt in. His heart shatters a little further when you start to beg him not to leave you. 

“M not leaving ye bonnie, just need to get myself strapped in.”

“Promise?” you sound so small and Soap is now certain that once you’re safe and looked after he’d going to hunt down the scumbag that dared lay a finger on you. For now though, 

“I promise love.” When he slips into the driver's seat you’re reaching blearily for his hand immediately and he takes it just as quickly, pulling away and driving far slower than he’d gone to get to you. 

“I promise.” The words are so soft that they’re more for himself than you. They’re an oath that he’ll keep even if it kills him.

as a lot of you know, my mom passed yesterday and it was so unexpected. what started as a simple break led to her organs shutting down, her kidney, liver, lungs and even heart. she even coded at one point.

not only do we have to put on her funeral, but we are also losing wages that we need to pay rent and bills. she was on disability that gave her 1,400 a month and i was her home health attendant and i used to get paid 450 every two weeks.

we’re giving up our car bc we won’t be able to afford the payment or insurance and we’re going to try and move into a cheaper place when we’re able to. the place we’re in right now is 2,400 a month and it’s no where near worth it.

A Mistake

You and Ayato had been best friends for years. However, over time, you both started to grow romantic feelings towards each other. Unfortunately, Ayato found someone else to date. You were heartbroken, but made sure to hide it. Now, you are walking towards Ayato’s place to finally meet this new girl he’s fallen in love with.

A/n: hello my favorite people! I’ve been into Angst a lot recently, so I decided I would do one for the one and only Ayato! Anyways, I apologize for any grammatical errors or typos, it’s a little late here and I’m about to pass out once I get this posted. I also apologize if it feels a bit rushed. 😣Anywho, I hope you all enjoy this and let me know if you’d like to see a part two for those who need a happy ending with all angst (*cough* me *cough*) anyways, enjoy <3

I looked up ahead with a fake smile plastered on my face, getting ready to finally meet the woman who captured Ayato’s heart. I was still a good ways away from them, but I could still manage to see a sight I would have never wanted to see. The man who I had come to love deeply was happily kissing another woman. Not just any woman, but the almighty, well-known traveler. I felt my chest tighten as they lovingly looked at one another. I wanted to be angry at Lumine, I wanted to hate her–but I just couldn’t. After all, it’s not her fault that Ayato fell in love with her. Ayato only saw me as a childhood friend, nothing more, nothing less. Plus, Lumine was basically a goddess compared to me. Her gorgeous features, her sweet personality, and all the amazing things she accomplished had me beat.

I finally made my way up to them, greeting Ayato. He looked over at me and his eyes lit up.

“Y/n, you made it. I hope the walk wasn’t too much.” He said, making you chuckle. To be honest, it was a long walk…almost 20 miles from where I was.

“Nothing I couldn’t handle. Though I’d much rather prefer if we could meet somewhere in between next time.” I said, making him laugh.

“I apologize for making you walk all this way…I just figured it would be a good time for you to meet my girlfriend since she was in the city. You never know when she’s off for another commission.” He said, wrapping his arm around the blond haired girl. She smiled sweetly at Ayato, placing her hand on his chest.

“Well, it is nice to meet you, Lumine. How long have you known Ayato?” I asked, trying to make small talk. Before she answered, I swear I saw her glare a bit at me.

“Oh, we’ve known each other for about three years now, but we’ve been together for almost 6 months.” She responded. I nodded

“Well, you are one very lucky girl…and I could say the same about Ayato. I mean he is dating the legendary traveler we’ve all come to know about.” I said, praising her.

She smiled, getting closer to Ayato.

“Yes, we are both so very lucky. I’m glad I could get my hands on him before anyone else could~” She said, eyeing me up and down

There was an awkwards silence

“Well then, I’m a little parched. Shall we all settle down for some tea? I’ll have Thoma make it.” Ayato said, making my eyes light up. Thoma’s tea is the best I have ever had.

“I would love that.” I said, making Ayato smile.

“Well, then you two go ahead and get to know each other while I go help Thoma make some tea for us.” He said, walking away into his home.

I looked towards Lumine with a smile, trying to be nice to her.

“So, Lumine. What brought you back he-”

“Cut the small talk. You don’t need to try and pretend to be friends with me.” She said, catching me off guard.

“What?” I asked, hoping it was just a misinterpretation.

“I know how you feel about Ayato. I know about your dumb stupid love for him, but I want you away from him. I don’t want to see you anywhere near him after today, got it?” She said, making me grow frustrated with her

“Now you listen to me. I have been best friends with Ayato since we were little kids. You don’t get to tell me what I can and can’t do with him. Besides, I don’t think he’d like the way you are talking to his best friend.”

“Oh, you won’t tell him.” She said confidently.

“And why is that? Enlighten me.” I said with an angered look on my face.

“Because If you do, this…” She said, holding a necklace that was very important to me. It was my mothers. She gave it to me right before she passed away from an illness that couldn’t be cured.

“Will be destroyed in an instant.”

“How did you-“

“I found it on Ayato's desk. He told me it was yours and that you had accidentally left it at his place when you last saw him.”

“You wouldn’t dare-“

“Oh but I would. You see, having you around Ayato makes it very difficult for me to accomplish my mission.” She said

“What mission? What are you going to do?”

She smirked while walking around me, taking a good look at my presence.

“Ayato is a very wealthy man, which of course can be beneficial for me. I can do whatever I please with his money, but also, his high ranks will make me look greater than I already am. I can get into places I was once not allowed into…and I can take control over things I would have originally not been able to do so.” She explained

“So you’re just dating him for his money and status!? You’re terrible! Wait until I-” I spat out

“Until you what? Tell him everything I just told you? Now why would you do that when you know the only thing left in remembrance of your mother is in danger of being completely destroyed?”

I quickly shut up and looked down, thinking of something, anything I could do to stop her. Then, out of instinct, I ran towards her to grab my necklace back. However, she quickly swept her foot under mine, making me fall. I got back up and punched her to make her let go of my necklace. I pushed her down and yanked on the necklace as she pulled on it too.

“Give it back, you crazy bitch!” I yelled at her.

Suddenly, a voice was heard that I did not want to hear at that moment

“What the hell is going on here?!” Ayato yelled. We both looked up at him. Lumine pushed me off of her and ran towards Ayato, crying the fakest tears I had ever seen.

“Ayato, my love. All I was trying to do was talk, but then she-she ran after me and punched me.” She said, showing him her black eyes that I proudly hit.

“Are you kidding me? Ayato, she’s lying! She is just using you for your wealth. She even threatened to damage the one thing that is important to me!” I retorted.

He glared down at me, making me confused

“How could you hurt her? After all she’s done for you? She saved this city! You wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for her!” He raised his voice at you.

“Ayato, you seriously can’t believe her-“

“I believe every word. Why would she lie to me?” He said naively. I just stared at him with disbelief

“Ayato I-“

“Enough! You’ve done enough already. I thought maybe you would be happy for me that I found someone who could love me. Someone who I truly loved. But I guess not.” He said with disappointment.

“I think it’s best if you leave.” He said, turning away from you and towards Lumine, tending to her eye

You looked towards her and saw her smirking at you while Ayato was hugging her.

“Fine. If you truly believe Lumine over your best friend who has done nothing but be there for you, I guess I’ll leave.” I said, turning away.

“And don’t worry, you won’t ever have to hear from me again.” You muttered to yourself.

Lumine smirked once more as she saw your figure leave, happy she got rid of you just like that.

“Come on, love. Let’s get you some ice.” Ayato cooed at Lumine.

Thoma saw the whole thing, shocked at Ayato’s outburst. Why did he not believe you? You two have known each other for several years now, yet he trusts the girl who he has only known for a few years?

He followed you back to a little park. He saw you plop down on the ground, your knees going to your chest.

He knew he needed to step in and help you. He placed his hand on your shoulder, making you look up at him.

“Oh, hey Thoma. What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be up with Ayato?” You said. He saw your tear stained face, quickly kneeling down to you.

“Y/n…” was all he said, knowing good and well what really happened. Your eyes started to fill up with tears once more as you hugged him. He hugged you back tightly, making sure to keep you safe.

“He didn’t believe me…after all these years, he doesn’t believe me.” You sobbed

Thoma rubbed your back, hurt from seeing you like this. You were like a sister to him, and him a brother to you.

“I know…I don’t know what went through his head. But I want you to know that I believe you.” He said, making you look up at him

“You do? Why?” You asked, making him smile down at you.

“Because I trust you. Plus I remember you crying over a dead butterfly because you accidentally stepped on it. After that, I knew it was almost impossible for you to hurt someone unless they deserved it.” He said, making you glare at him

“That butterfly probably had a family! And besides…I did hit her. But it was because she stole something from me.” You spoke up

He looked at you, pushing you to continue

“She took my necklace…the one my mother gave to me before she…you know.”

“Why’d she have that in the first place?” He asked

“I accidentally left it on Ayato’s desk after I left. Now that she has it, she’s threatening to destroy it if I get any closer to Ayato. I can’t even see him anymore.” I said

Thoma was one to usually never get angered by something so easily, but when it came to someone he cares about, it always ignited inside of him if he learned they were hurt, or in this case, threatened.

He got up and started to walk away

“Where are you going?” You asked

“I’m going back there to settle things once and for all. You don’t deserve to be treated like this, especially after all you've done for Ayato.”

Your eyes widened as you quickly ran up to him

“No! Stop Thoma!” You said, pushing him to the ground

“Y/n, get off so I can go teach Ayato and that bitch a lesson.” He said, catching you off guard

“No! If you do, she will destroy the only thing I have left of my mother.” You said as your voice started to break.

“Please, Thoma. She’s already taken someone who I loved away from me…don’t allow her to take the other thing I love away, too.” You begged, making him frown at you.

“Ugh, fine. But only because I don’t like seeing you hurt. But if she does anything else to you, it’s game over.” He said

“When did you become so violent?” You asked with a small smile

“When I found out that someone was threatening someone I care for.” He said, making you smile.

You two got up and dusted yourselves off.

“Well, no matter what Ayato says, I still want to see you. It will be boring if I don’t. I’ll even teach you some of my cooking tricks…and maybe how to make my amazing tea.” He said, making your eyes light up.

“Really?”

“Of course! It’s about time that you learn.” He said, making you smile

“I would love that! But, I’ll only go there for you. I can’t be anywhere near Ayato or else that necklace is gone. In the meantime, I'm gonna have to figure out how to get that necklace back.” I said, making him nod.

“Well, I better head back. Meet me whenever you’re ready. But make sure it’s soon. I don’t wanna worry about whether or not you are coming if you take too long.” He joked, making you smile

“Don’t worry, I’ll be there soon. For now, I’m going to go back home and figure some stuff out. So I’ll talk to you later Thoma.”

“Bye y/n. I’ll see you soon!” He replied, watching your figure disappear.

A few months had passed and Ayato was desperately missing you. After the whole argument took place a while back, he quickly took notice of your absence. Almost a week after that incident, he saw you coming towards him. The fight was put behind him, and he was ready to greet you with a warm hug. However, he was confused when you walked right past him without even acknowledging him. He thought you were just in a hurry, but was awfully mistaken when you continued to do this every time you came to his place. What made things worse was that you would always go to Thoma. He would see you and Thoma laughing and smiling at each other. Ayato couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous every time he saw you two together.

That’s when he started to talk to you…well at least try to talk to you. He would ask how you were doing, only to hear a short reply from you.

“Hey y/n, how are you?” He would ask

“Fine.” You would say, quickly walking away from him

“Are you doing anything today?”

“‘M busy helping Thoma.”

“Wanna go walk around?”

“Not now.”

No matter what he tried to get you to talk to him, you just wouldn’t. And everytime it happened, he felt his chest tighten.

Today was no different. He was sitting with Lumine, watching you talk happily with Thoma, smiling to your ears around him. Why were you acting this way?! Was it because of the argument you two had?

Lumine was talking the whole time, but Ayato was too busy focusing on you. He made sure that Thoma wasn’t trying to make a move on you.

But why was he feeling this way? After all, you are single…and he Ayato has Lumine…so he shouldn’t be acting this way towards Thoma.

Then why was it that everytime he saw Thoma hug you, whisper in your ear, or laugh with you, he felt…sadness and jealousy? He had Lumine…that was all he needed…right?

Ayato’s eyes widened as he started to realize that his feelings towards you started to come back. No, he got rid of those emotions a long time ago…there is no way he could possibly still be in love with you, right?

He looked over at Lumine who was off in her own world, talking about her commissions, then over at you. He saw your smile and the way your eyes sparkled when you talked to Thoma. Oh how he missed the way you used to look up at him like that. How he missed hearing your beautiful voice. He didn’t notice, but his grip around his tea glass was getting too strong, and in an instant, the cup shattered into pieces, catching everyone’s attention. That’s when he finally made eye contact with you. He finally got to see your gorgeous e/c eyes. But that relief was soon filled with hurt when he saw the light in your eyes disappear. They were filled with dullness and…sadness?

“My dear! Are you alright?” Lumine asked, but he stayed silent. The two of you stared each other down, seeing who would break it first. Unfortunately, you were the first one. He heard Lumine grumble when she saw the two of you staring at each other

Odd.

Suddenly, Ayato saw you stand up and thank Thoma. That’s when you turned around and started to leave. But no, Ayato wasn’t going to let that happen this time. Not now.

“Y/n!” He said a little too loudly. You stopped in your tracks, but never turned towards him.

“Why don’t you come here and join me for some tea? I know it’s your favorite.” He said

“No thanks. I’ve gotta go-“

“Yeah, besides, you don’t need her darling. You can talk to me.” Lumine interrupted, making me glare at her

“Y/n, please-“

“I said no. I’m leaving. Goodbye Thoma.”

That’s when Ayato snapped.

“Thoma this, Thoma that. Hello Thoma! Goodbye Thoma! I’m sick of you saying his name! What about me?” He said towards you, making you wrap your hands around your body. The truth is, this hurt you as much as it hurt him. You so desperately wanted to make amends with the man you loved…but he chose her over you…and you can’t risk losing your necklace. Not after losing the only thing that was more important than the necklace.

“Oh, now you’re not even speaking to me again. Great. Go ahead, ignore me then. I’ve never seen you act this way before, and quite frankly, I don’t care for it.” He said, setting you off

You turned around, and looked him dead in the eye, anger filling you up.

“You don’t get to speak to me like some child! Not after how you treated me the day of our fight!” You yelled back

“You’re still on about that!? That was months ago! Get over it!” He yelled back

“Get over it!? How the fuck am I supposed to just get over someone who I thought was my best friend, no, the love of my life, believe some girl he barely met a while ago instead of the girl who has always been there for you since day one!” You yelled, not realizing you just confessed to him. His eyes widened as he heard those words come out of your mouth. You…loved him. Suddenly, he felt his heart flutter in ways that Lumine could never make happen.

Lumine looked pissed

You continued to go on

“Ever since the incident with your parents, I have been there with you, side by side. I made sure you had someone to sleep next to when you were afraid, I made sure to lend you my shoulder for you to cry on when you needed it, I fucking let my happiness go for you so you could be happy with this bitch you call your girlfriend!”

“Y/n…”

“But even after all of that, it still wasn’t good enough for you. I will never be good enough for you. I can’t even surmount her beauty, her knowledge, her strength, everything! She will always have the higher ground.”

Is that what you thought about yourself? That you were nothing compared to Lumine? How wrong you were. In Ayato’s mind, no one could compare to you. Everything about you is unique and special to him. Everything about you is what made him fall head over heels for you.

“Y/n. You’ve got it all wrong-“

“But one thing is for sure. I have more love for you than she ever will. And if you think for one second that I enjoy ignoring you, then you must not know me well at all because I have been dreading it!”

“Then why are you doing it!?” He asked, begging you to tell him

“Tell me why!”

“Because you chose her over me! And not only that, but if I get anywhere close to you, that necklace that she is holding will be destroyed! I already had you taken away from me, I can’t have that taken from me too!” I yelled, making him look down at Lumine. He couldn’t believe it. For the first time, he could see what you were talking about. He could see the hatred in Lumine's eyes as she stared at you.

She grabbed the necklace and held it high.

“No! Stop!” You yelled, trying to run towards her

“Ah, Ah, Ah! Take one more step and this thing is gone!” She yelled

“You will walk away, and once you are finally gone, I will send it to you personally. But I no longer want you around Ayato. Is that clear!” She said, making Ayato furious.

“Now you wait just a second. Y/n will not-“

“Fine.” You interrupted him, making him look up at you.

“If I leave Ayato for good, you promise to give me the necklace back?” You asked, Ayato staring at you in disbelief.

“You can’t be serious, y/n. You’d seriously leave me just to get your necklace?” He asked, heartbroken.

“I have no other choice. Seeing as you have already made yours, I have to deal with your consequences.” You replied nonchalant

“Y/n, stop. I don’t like hearing you say that-“

“I don’t care, Ayato. We are done. It’s over. Once you made your decision to trust her over me, all the feelings I had for you vanished.” You said, lying through your teeth.

“You don’t mean that-“

“Oh I mean every fucking word.” You said. You looked towards Lumine with a glare.

“I’m leaving. That necklace better be at my place within a week.” You said, turning on your feet. However, Lumine smirked and let go of the necklace, letting it drop from a high altitude. Ayato, Thoma, and you all looked at it as it fell. Ayato suddenly pushed her away and ran toward it to try and catch it, but it was too late. The delicate necklace had made an impact with the hard floor, causing it to smash into pieces. You yelled as you tried to grab all the pieces, holding them in your hands. Tears fell from your eyes once you saw the damage.

“Guards! Seek this woman out now!” Ayato yelled. Suddenly, a group of large men came and grabbed Lumine

“What!? You can’t do this! I am Lumine damnit!” She yelled, but was ignored and finally thrown out of Ayato’s home. He looked down at your broken frame, his heart clenching. He knew how important that necklace was to you. And it was his fault for breaking it.

He heard you sniffle and quickly tried to kneel down to you, lending you a helping hand. However you pushed him away with hatred in your eyes.

“Go away! Just get away from me! I don’t want to be around you and I don’t want your help! You’ve already done enough damage!” You yelled at him with a breaking voice.

“Y/n, I just-“

“No! Stop talking!” You yelled, rising to your feet, the broken pieces still in your hand. You started to walk out

Ayato felt tears well up in his eyes

“Y/n! Come here-“

“I don’t ever want to see you again! Never! It would be best for you to just disappear from my life.” You said, slamming the gate doors shut as you left without another word

Ayato’s tears fell down his face as realization hit him

“Y/n…I-I’m so sorry…” he said as he knelt to the ground with a severe pain in his heart. He had officially lost the true love of his life.
