Numerology and astrology already coexist. Each sign is assigned a number they share in common with their native house starting at 1 with Aries and going counterclockwise around the horoscope wheel until you get to 12 and Pisces. This is why you will always look a bit off if you start talking about the signs with Capricorn which is sign 10 - the horoscope wheel does not begin in January.
Additionally, each month has an intrinsic number. I know that you already know this part. We use these numbers to denote dates in shorthand. But in case it's not clear, our calendar year begins with January as month 1 and ends with December as month 12.
All numerology combines these intrinsic numbers in a particular way. Numerology deals almost exclusively with numbers 1-9 - with a given number, you continue to add the digits together until you have a single-digit number. In this way, our tenth month is also a 1 month because 1+0 = 1.
As another example, each year has a number that can be determined by adding all the numbers in the year together and then doing so again until you have reduced that number to a single digit.
2023 is a number 7 because 2+0+2+3=7.
The above are both easy examples because you add the numbers together only once - so let's focus instead on 1999. 1+9+9+9=28. We would then add 2+8 together, equaling 10, and then 1+0 to equal 1.
Each number from 1-9 in numerology is considered to have an energetic feeling that is part of a circular story. 1 is the beginning and 9 is the ending of this story but remember that number 10 is actually a number 1 meaning that after 9 comes 1 all over again. In this way, numerology acknowledges the cyclical nature of life and the shedding/renewal stages that we all undergo.
Actual dates don't exist in a vacuum. Though all Novembers carry some "11" (and 2 because that's 1+1) energy, the numerology of the year it takes place in is also combined to create a more unique numerological energy.
To get the number of a specific month you add the number of the month to the number of the year and then reduce until you have a single digit.
November 2023 is a number 9 because 11+7=18=1+8=9.
Technically we could denote September as an 11/2/9 if we wanted to but we are assuming that everybody knows the energy that is November/11/2 already. We could say that the energy of 2023 modifies November's energy from a pure 11/2 to that of an 11/2/9.
It is worth noting that in each year, January (as month 1) will always be one number higher than the numerological value of the year. (January 2023 was an 8-month because 2023 is a 7-year). The month of the numerological return - where the number of the month matches the number of the year (in 2023, September is the 7-month in a 7-year) - should be considered highly significant.
Each full and new moon has an intrinsic numerology based on the number of the Sun and the number of the Moon added together and reduced to a single digit. In the case of a full moon, the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs and in the case of a new moon, the Sun and Moon are in the same sign.
All full moons in Gemini carry 3 energy. (Sun in Sagittarius (9) + Moon in Gemini (3) = 12 = 1+2 = 3). Our upcoming full moon on 11/27 combines that 3 energy with the 9 energy of November. 9+3 = 12. 1+2 =3. This Gemini full moon carries the energy of 3/3 which shows that it is supercharged with 3 energy.
All Sagittarius new moons carry 9 energy. (Sun in Sagittarius (9) + Moon in Sagittarius (9) = 18 = 1+8 =9) Our upcoming new moon on 12/12 combines that 9 energy with the 1 energy of December. 9+1=10. 1+0 =1. This Sagittarius new money carries the energy of 9/1 which shows that it is an ending and a beginning.
You have a number, too, based on the date that you were born. In numerology, this is often referred to as your Life Path Number.
To find this, add the month, date, and year numbers and reduce until you get to a single-digit number.
A baby born today on 11/18/2023 would have a 9 lifepath number as 1+1+1+8+2+0+2+3=18 and 1+8=9.
I have found that your life path number will show you what numerological energy you are the most comfortable with. I am an 8 lifepath and I really enjoy 8 months and 8 energy, in general.
You may find yourself particularly empowered in months, years, or on lunar events that share your life-path number.
As always, you don't have to use numerology if you don't want. (Why do I have to say that?....)
Most cultures and magical practices acknowledge some type of superstition or attributions to numbers. Some examples are:
1 is the loneliest number. 3 is a crowd. Mommy, Daddy, and Baby Make 3! 7 is lucky/unlucky. These associations are often very cultural and you should use your own cultural perceptions of numbers over strictly following what pop-numerology sites say (IMO). With the notable exception that the increase in numbers in numerology should always be viewed as further along a path. 1 is the start and 9 is the end. Keep in mind that numerology is cyclical - a nine-month leads into a 10/1 month and so forth.
You will notice the use of numerology in the stories told through the suit cards in the tarot with, in this case, Ace/1 being a new beginning and 10 being the completion.
A very basic look at the numbers is as follows:
1 - a beginning, something new 2 - the first steps, connections being made 3 - creation, birth, a "party" 4 - the creation of structure, solidity 5 - first changes, challenges, sometimes strife 6 - resolutions, understanding 7 - enlightenment, changes of opinions, refinements 8 - repeated challenges, the learning curve 9 - completions, endings, lessons
These numbers are often baked into magical traditions and you might not even have realized it. The magic of the number 3 as a creation number is a good example as is the belief that something repeated 9x (3x3) can be especially sacred and "complete".
There are many instances where you are instructed to repeat a certain prayer for a particular number of days or burn a candle for a number of days. All of this carries the energy of that number into your magical working. You can also use numberology by choosing a particular number of ingredients to put into a spell or by burning a specific number of candles, or in any other way where you can use a numerical value.
You can do that regardless of the numerical value of the date or amp up your spellwork by using the date to your advantage.
For example, since we know that the upcoming Gemini full Moon carries a double "3" energy, we could choose to incorporate the number 3 into any magic we did on that day. Likewise, our Sagittarius new moon will be a 9/1 day so we could combine the energy of the 9 for endings while setting a singular intention with the number "1" for beginnings.
Many people find that doing this type of magic requires less personal effort as you are working with the energy of the day rather than against it. This can be especially useful for low-energy witches or "spoonies" of all kinds.
This is really just a start - you can use the magic of numerology in any way that you can think of! Do you use numerology in your magic? I'd love to hear about it - feel free to send me an ask telling me how you use it!

🥚✨ A Beginner's Guide: Exploring Egg Cleansing + Purifying Energy with Ancient Ritual ✨🥚
🔮 Preparation: To perform an egg cleansing, you'll need a fresh, raw egg and a quiet, sacred space where you can perform the ritual undisturbed. Some practitioners choose to bless or consecrate the egg before use, invoking divine protection and guidance.
🧼 Cleansing Ritual: Begin by rubbing the raw egg gently over the body or aura of the person being cleansed, starting from the crown of the head and moving downward to the feet. Alternatively, you can pass the egg over the body without touching it, maintaining a few inches of distance.
💫 Intent and Visualization: As you perform the cleansing, focus your intention on absorbing and removing any negative energy, blockages, or attachments that may be present. Visualize the egg acting as a magnet, drawing out and absorbing all forms of negativity and impurities from the person's energy field.
🥚 Egg Reading: After the cleansing is complete, crack the egg into a glass or bowl of water and observe the patterns, shapes, and textures formed by the egg white and yolk. Some practitioners believe that these patterns can reveal information about the person's energy, emotions, and spiritual condition.
🌿 Disposal: Once the egg reading is complete, dispose of the egg and its contents in a respectful manner. Some traditions recommend burying it in the earth, while others suggest disposing of it in running water or leaving it at a crossroads as an offering to spirits.
Egg cleansing is believed to promote spiritual purification, healing, and balance by clearing away negative energy and restoring harmony to the energy body. It can be performed regularly as part of a spiritual maintenance practice or as needed to address specific issues or concerns. Whether you're seeking to release emotional baggage, dispel negative influences, or restore spiritual vitality, egg cleansing offers a gentle yet effective way to cleanse and purify the body, mind, and spirit. 🌿🌟
🌟🔮 A Beginner’s Guide: What Makes a Spell Work 101 🔮🌟
Hello! Ever wondered what makes a spell work? While there's no one-size-fits-all answer, there are a few key ingredients that contribute to the effectiveness of a spell. Here's what you need to know:
Intent: Your intention is the driving force behind any spell. Clearly define your goal and focus your energy on manifesting it through your magical workings.
Energy: Channeling and directing energy is essential for making a spell work. Whether it's through visualization, ritual, or other magical techniques, you need to harness and direct your energy toward your desired outcome.
Correspondences: Correspondences are associations between different elements, such as colors, herbs, crystals, and planetary influences, and specific magical intentions. By aligning these correspondences with your intention, you amplify the energy of your spell.
Timing: Timing plays a significant role in spellcasting, with certain phases of the moon, days of the week, and astrological influences being more conducive to specific types of magic. Pay attention to timing when planning your spells to maximize their effectiveness.
Symbolism: Symbolism is a powerful tool in magic, as it allows you to tap into the deeper meanings and associations of various symbols and archetypes. Incorporating symbolism into your spells adds depth and potency to your magical workings.
Remember, the most important ingredient in any spell is your belief in its effectiveness. Trust in your own power and the magic of the universe, and watch as your spells manifest before your eyes! 🔮🌟✨

There’s a marked tradition of cleaning and airing out the house in the springtime when the weather warms. As you’re dusting and tidying and getting rid of winter stagnation, take some time to do the same with your craft.
Clean and organize your workspace. If you have an altar space or a shelf where you keep bottles and jars and the like, remove everything from the surface and give it a good dusting. Take the opportunity to rearrange things or swap out pieces if it suits you. If you have ritual tools that don’t often get cleaned, check them for signs or rust or wear and give them a bit of love. Repair things that need fixing, if you can. If you have an iron cauldron that you use for fire magic, get a wire brush or some steel wool and gently remove any burnt residue left inside.
Sort through your supplies. If you have lots of candles and crystals and small items laying about, consider getting some small totes or craft organizers to keep things tidy. Divided storage boxes for beads or scrapbooking supplies are great for small items, and shoebox-sized caddies are perfect for taper, chime, and votive candles. Organizing things will make your space easier to navigate and also gives you a proper idea of what you have on hand. Which might help you resist impulse purchases the next time you’re out shopping for witchcraft supplies. While you’re tidying, be sure to discard any rubbish, candle stubs, wax blobs, herb scraps, bits of string, incense bases, and so forth that might be cluttering up the place.
Discard things that are too old or worn to be useful. Dried plants and seasonings can usually be kept for 1-3 years if they remain in sealed containers. If they have no scent anymore or smell musty or mildewy, discard them and sanitize the container. If you’re using supermarket spices, you can use the expiration date on the container as a guide. Powdered material will likely last longer than whole herbs or cut-and-sifted material. One helpful tip is to put a purchase date on packets or bags of herbs when you buy them, or to put a little date sticker on your jars of herbs when you refill them. (Anyone who’s worked in food service will probably be familiar with the concept of container dating or day-dotting.)
If you make oils or tinctures or suchlike in your practice, check on these as well. Make sure nothing has gone off or lost its’ potency. Day-dotting your potion containers will help with this as well. A simple sticker with the name of the brew and the date it was bottled will help you keep track of your supplies and know when something needs to be tossed and replaced. (You can also print labels with the ingredients and purpose of the brew if you’re feeling super organized.)
Reorganize your books and resources. Review what's there and see if there are any materials that need to be weeded out, donated, or discarded. Remember that as you grow and progress, some things will become obsolete or may show themselves to be unhelpful or inaccurate. It's okay to remove things from your resource library that no longer serve you if you want to make some space on the shelves.
You can also cleanse your workspace and/or components while you’re tidying if you wish. It doesn’t have to be a full clean-slate-everything-must-go cleansing, but it can be helpful to just clear out stagnation or bring in some freshness and vitality.
Happy Witching!
Hello friends! As a west witch I find myself in a lot of elemental spaces, but as an elemental pagan I feel like we get little to no representation without wicca being present so this post is for all my friends who may be looking into elemental work and want to know what to expect! This is an introductory post so if anyone is interested in further information let me know in the comments!
Common Lessons tend to include grounding, understanding your place within it all like your social circles, life itself, or even the ecosystem. People also tend to find out how to see beauty even when they feel there is none, home and hearth magic, generational magic, and harnessing your own power. Its important to recognize earth is extremely giving, often giving things without expecting anything in return. Remember to give back to the earth when you can in your practice, it isn't fair to take things without giving back. Eventually earth takes all things back from the living, so remember that earth is as powerful as she is kind Darker Aspect/Element: Rot How to honor and find these teachings:
Going out in nature
Taking care of plants
Herbal work
Community service
Exploring
Grounding and meditation outdoors
Connecting to earth itself
Evaluating what it means to be human
Common forms of divination
Osteomancy (Burning Bones)
Abacomancy (Dirt)
Dendromancy (Tree reading)
Falling petals or leaves
Common lessons from air tend to be quick and ever present, air speaks rather quickly to people and messages change! Its best to keep a log of signs and messages you receive because it tends to be a pebble trail on your journey. Air teaches how to keep calm in tense situations, creating your own path on the journey of life, going with the wind and learning to not value materialistic lifestyles, plus learning how to be more gentle with yourself and others!
Darker Aspect: Tempest How to honor and find these teachings:
Breath work
Spontaneity and leaving your comfort zone
Living to the fullest (however that might look for you!)
Dance or Hand motions
Meditations
Keeping sword or athame imagery as a talisman
Storm tracking
Common forms of divination:
Smoke Scrying
Wind Watching
Electromancy (By Lightning)
Austromancy (By Clouds)
Common lessons in fire encourage you to listen closely and not rely so much on searching for messages. In most mythos fire speaks once per session, when its burnt out usually the message is over. Fire teaches us how to be confident in our work, ambition, and performance. Fire likes to throw a lot at you and teach you adaptability, and most importantly how to be the best you can be. You can learn a lot from just a little flame.
Darker Aspect: Magma
How to Honor these teachings:
Practicing Confidence
Glamour Magic
Using your backbone/saying no more
Making friends in odd places
Hosting bonfires/tending to a hearth fire
Using candle magic
Common forms of divination:
Fire Scrying
Candle/Wax reading
Flame Shape reading
Casting knives
Common lessons range depending on what you are looking for! Water can teach you how to be calm and collected, but also encourages you to be fluid! so if you need to unleash the flood you know when its appropriate to do so. You also learn how to go with the flow, how to be persistent, and how to be a fierce enigma. Water is also very humbling at times, so you will learn a lot about yourself.
Darker Aspect: Abyss
How to honor these teachings:
Emotion based meditations
Shadow work
Being in tune with yourself
Swimming
Boating
Fishing
Beach cleanups
Exploring your waterways
Common types of divination:
Water scrying
Waves
Rainfall
Storm tracking
Mist/Dew

How you celebrate the holiday does not matter. You can choose to do any activity that feels right. These are only suggestions and remember that you're enough no matter what.
Also please note some stuff is UPG. A great book is Year of the Witch by Temperance Alden for honouring the celebrations and if you wanted to work more seasonally. It's not Wiccan-based and has plenty of resources for every witch.
Feel free to post how you celebrate in the comments or reblogs!

Samhain (Oct 31 - Nov 1)
Also known as witches new year, marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter, the nights are long and it is getting colder. The harvest is celebrated and we express our gratitude. Samhain is also a celebration to honor ancestors and contact the deceased, as the veil is thin and makes communication easier.
Correspondences for Samhain: Symbols of Samhain | pumpkins, bats, spiders, cobwebs, witches, broomsticks, skeletons. Colors | Black, orange, white, silver, purple. Spells | Gratitude, releasing, honoring, abundance, communication, protection. Crystals | Amethyst, onyx, obsidian, smokey quartz. Herbs and flowers | Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Rosemary, Sandalwood. Food | Apple pie, pears, pumpkins, nuts, grains, bread, vegetables, soups, stews, candy, ciders. A few days ago I got a spell request for Self Love. This ritual is adapted from a part of that spell. If you’d like a custom spell, they’re only $2 right now!
Message me for details.
This ritual is perfect to perform in the morning when you’re getting ready for the day, or at night when you’re getting ready for bed! Or just whenever you need to show yourself some love. 🖤
Everyone will have the supplies, so there’s no reason not to try it out.
Things You Need:
- Your favorite bath wash, shampoo, conditioner, and face wash.
- Coconut Oil, or your favorite lotion. (If you don’t like using oils or lotion on your face, you could use your favorite face wash here, or another substance you like using on your face.)
- Toothbrush & Toothpaste
The Ritual:
1. Take a cleansing shower or bath with your favorite bath supplies. Throw some bubble bath mix in there too, if you’d like, and if you have any rose quartz crystal, you can place those around the bath for some extra loving energy. While bathing imagine all the negative thoughts and energy being washed away from your mind, and cleansed from your body.
2. When you’re done in the bath, brush your teeth and imagine all of the negative things you’ve ever said to yourself or about yourself being brushed away and rinsed down the drain. Then rinse your mouth, and smile at yourself in the mirror. Say out loud: “I am amazing. I am worthy of everything I desire. I love myself.”
3. Rub the coconut oil or lotion on your face (or other substance), and while you’re doing that just imagine all the different things you love to do to nurture yourself, and all of the things you love about yourself. You can rub it all over your body if desired.
After doing this simple ritual you will feel an abundance of love for yourself, and if you perform it everyday, your self love will grow exponentially.
I hope you treat yourself kindly today and remember to take it easy on yourself.

Light some incense and take a few deep breaths before placing all your items into a jar. The size will depend on how powerful you want it or if you want to carry it with you. I have some teeny little jars that pack just as much punch as the larger ones. It is all about the intention you put into it.
As you add each item say either out loud or to yourself what you hope to gain or are wanting from the item.
‘I add this lavender to help ease my anxiety and give me a sense of calm’
With the bay leaves I like to use a permanent marker and write clear directions.
I AM STRONG
I LOVE MY BODY
This sets the intention solidly and you are not asking for permission. The words are declaring that you have got this and it is true!
After all of the items have been added you need to seal the spell. Light the candle and allow the wax to drip down the sides of the jar/bottle to form a wax seal. While still wet I like to place the crystal, in this case rose quartz, into the wax.
Hold the jar in your hands and feel the positivity you just created. Place onto your alter or work desk where you will see it regularly. When you feel the need for a little pick me up, hold it and feel the good vibes flow.
🌸 I am constantly growing, evolving and becoming my best self. I am enough. I am whole. I love myself. 🌸

2️⃣ Candle Gazing: Light a candle and sit quietly, observing the dancing flame. Allow its gentle flicker to soothe your mind and bring a sense of peace and serenity to your space.
3️⃣ Crystal Meditation: Hold a comforting crystal in your hands and take a few moments to connect with its energy. Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and allow the crystal’s energy to wash over you, bringing comfort and healing.
4️⃣ Herbal Tea Ritual: Brew a warm cup of herbal tea and savor each sip mindfully. Choose a tea blend that resonates with your needs, such as chamomile for relaxation, lavender for calm, or peppermint for revitalization.
5️⃣ Affirmation Practice: Repeat positive affirmations to yourself, either silently or out loud. Choose affirmations that align with your intentions and bring a sense of empowerment and self-love.
6️⃣ Journal Reflection: Grab your journal and spend a few moments reflecting on your thoughts and emotions. Write freely, allowing your pen to flow and release any tension or worries that may be weighing you down.

As witches, it’s important to prioritize our self-care. Not only does it help us stay in touch with our mind, body, and spirit, but it also allows us to recharge our energy and connect with the universe. Here are some tips to help you create a witchy self-care routine that works for you:
🌸 Start by setting aside some time each day for self-care. Whether it’s 15 minutes or an hour, make sure it’s a time when you can be fully present and relaxed.
🌸 Create a sacred space for your self-care routine. This can be a corner of your room, a cozy spot in your garden, or anywhere that feels calming and peaceful to you.
🌸 Incorporate nature into your self-care routine. Take a walk in the woods, collect herbs and flowers for a bath or tea, or simply sit outside and breathe in the fresh air.
🌸 Use your senses to connect with your body and surroundings. Light candles, burn incense, listen to calming music, or indulge in your favorite scent.
🌸 Try out different self-care practices and see what resonates with you. This can include yoga, meditation, tarot reading, journaling, or anything else that helps you feel centered and grounded.
🌸 Don’t forget to nourish your body with healthy food, hydration, and rest. Our physical health is just as important as our spiritual health.
Remember, self-care is not selfish - it’s essential for our well-being and our ability to be of service to others. Take the time to care for yourself so that you can continue to thrive and spread your light in the world. 🌟✨
