FLOWERS AND SCARS
The flowers you once gave
Are now my bookmarks.
Dried and black,
Yet somehow artful.
Like the scars, you left behind
To bookmark
The person I was, and have become.
Dried and black,
Yet somehow hurtful.

I could achieve anything, but
I’m scared to begin.
There are insidious whispers
Lurking deep within,
And they speak their snide utterings,
What-ifs and maybes
And possible problem checklists
Will cause me to freeze.
I must flex my resilience,
Fight the fear within,
Because not one thing will happen
Until I begin!
Jumin is gonna get his nose broke lbr he probably can't fight for shit

ENCHANTED 💫
My past took me for granted
Then you held my hand and enchanted.
I realised magic isn't about pixie dust
But in the heart of people we trust.

Anaïs Nin, Fire: From “A Journal of Love”: The Unexpurgated Diary of Anaïs Nin, 1934–1937
Harry: are you taken?
Draco: Yeah, for granted
Hufflepuff: alright we need a plan. Does anyone have any ideas?
Slytherin: *raises hand*
Hufflepuff: that DOESN’T involve murder
Slytherin: *slowly lowers hand*
Ok no offense, but some of us *looks pointedly at self in mirror* need to fucking chill
hands reaching out towards each other in the depths of the sea, a lone lighthose standing in the midst of the ocean, waves that roar and grow only taller, the sea spray and the salty breeze kissing your face, odd things washing up onto shore, letters written in cursive, effortless script, beholding the words of a lover.
“Anything with the power to make you laugh over thirty years later isn’t a waste of time. I think something like that is very close to immortality.”

LET'S STAY IN
A few more days let's stay in,
Read a book or play violin.
Though how long is uncertain,
This too shall pass, that's certain.
Binge your favourite TV show,
Or adopt a dog, so you can watch him grow.
Stay up all night then wake up late,
And enjoy your cup of hot chocolate.
Make biryani, bake a pie,
Or paint a picture and watch it dry.
Call that friend who cares for you,
And watch the sky in brilliant hues.
A few more days let's stay in,
Later you can go trek mountain.
Though how long is uncertain,
This too shall pass, that's certain.

LIGHTS AND SHADES
All the Polaroids
Once lit with fairy lights,
Now stay in a box,
With not a ray of light.
Love,
just like photos, will surely fade
So I pulled up my walls
And hide behind it's shade.

“Words were different when they lived inside of you.”
— Benjamin Alire Sáenz, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (via razreads)
The mornings after a rainy night,
Reminds me of all our crazy fights.
The way few droplets hold onto leaves,
I held us tying my pain in sheaves.
The sky looks empty without a cloud,
Reflecting me and the things you vowed.
And slowly the day gets bright in time,
I bethink how I left right in time.
The mornings after a rainy night,
Reminds me there's always space for light.
