no cuz I felt the same way even at the time when I saw it and didn’t hold as many qualms with the movie overall as I do now I thought that phrasing was super weird and really out of character was it supposed to be humorous? if so then… how? like that’s a rather bleak and grim place to go if you’re trying to make a joke and it’s also just… not at all what happened what was even the point of that line lol only point seemed to be to hint at possible tension in the future for ned and peter and even in that context… is such a stupid idea lol now we got ppl on the spider-man subreddit praying that he’s becomes the hobgoblin and I can’t imagine any worse direction they could go in with what they’ve already set up for the future storyline of mcu’s spiderman (​precisely cuz there has actually been hardly any set up to support that specific theory) and the only thing they’ve used to support that theory specifically is that one line and that line makes no sense to compare and contrast mcu’s peter and ned’s relationship to raimi’s peter and harry’s relationship cuz that just outright was not harry and peter’s relationship? in any regard???
