Have You Ever Had Cartoon Crushes?

I think maybe most people had cartoon crushes as a kid or something. I’m one of them.

Here are a list of characters I had childhood crushes on:

1. Starfire(Teen Titans 2003)

2. Raven(Teen Titans 2003)

3. Max Goof(Goofy Movies)

4. Danny Fenton(Danny Phantom)

5. Katara(ATLA)

There might be more but these are the ones I remember from the top of my head.

Katara vs. Lapis Lazuli. Who Would Win?

I’ve been wanting to do some versus posts between characters from different fandoms. The characters I choose have similar powers to make things interesting. 

Although Katara is an extremely strong waterbender, I don’t think she would win.

Her control in water is smooth and strong, but Lapis is able to control the entire ocean as seen in season 1. Lapis also has wings that can take her as far as space. It’s possible Katara can use her abilities to travel upwards, though she wouldn’t be able to make it to space. 

Also, Lapis doesn’t have regular human blood, so Katara can’t use bloodbending to get an advantage.

Winner: Lapis Lazuli

Why Aang Not Being The Best Father Works?

A lot of people did not like Aang’s interpretation in LOK. I actually really liked it since it makes sense. Aang is one of the sweetest characters, but he didn’t have a parental example to follow and that plays a big role when you become a parent. Sure he had Monk Gyatso but only until he was twelve. Aang had to grow up without parents. Plus, he added this pressure to restore the Air Nation on himself and it clouded him for a lot of his life.

He just focused on Tenzin more because of his own pressure and wish to bring the Air Nation back. He also wanted to teach his youngest child how to hone his skills.

Aang definitely loved his children and never intentionally wanted his two eldest children to feel they way they did. He wholeheartedly accepted Kya when she came out, and I bet Aang is proud of all the achievements Bumi accomplished as a non bender.

I think some people expect protagonists to be perfect, but them making mistakes is what means to be human. Learning from them especially. Viewers need to know that making mistakes is okay, and how to grow from it.

It happened spontaneously, but I love AU. So… Avatar Hiccup. Hiccup considered himself an ordinary person before meeting Toothless. (Dragons can be equated to spirits, i mean relationships between people and them). Then he discovered his talent as an airbender and Toothless became his teacher. Later, other talents were discovered, which made it clear that Hiccup was an avatar.

Astrid became his waterbender teacher. Snotlout was an adept of firebender, but he sincerely did not understand how to teach, because he himself used magic on a subconscious level. Fishlegs is an earthbender, but he did not go beyond the amateur level and could not become a teacher. The twins are always on their own wave. Ruffnut is a master in airbending and can perform techniques with clouds of gas, while Tuffnut is not a master, but is ready to set fire to the gas with his sparks at any moment. The twins always come in a set.

Brothers Grimborn! Lord of Fire Viggo. The aesthetics of blue flame and lightning were created for him. So I couldn't resist. The hottest flame and deadly techniques of lightningbending made him the most terrible opponent for the young avatar, but in the future, he will become the teacher of fire magic for Hiccup. I endowed Riker with explosion magic, as for me, it suits him perfectly. An explosive mixture of rage and bloodlust.

Berserkers! Remembering Viggo's words about how the berserkers in ancient times lured the Skrills with metal, I thought about a tribe practicing metalbending. Dagur discovered his talent for earth magic much later, including metal. I like to think that Dagur could be a threat to the avatar even as an ordinary person, relying on his ingenuity and physical strength. Heather is a master of earth and metal magic, she could well become Hiccup's teacher in this matter.

I really pushed myself with this one. I’m not used to draw something so detailed in this style. It was hard and it was a lot of trial and error lol

You can see how I changed things here and there (like the eye that I forgot it wasn’t supposed to be so open because of the scar)

At some point I was stuck and questioned all of my life choices but then I remembered that I draw for fun and it’s okay to NOT do everything okay. The point is to keep on learning and improving. I know it’s not perfect and I don’t care.

I don’t know if I’m gonna keep doing artworks like this. I just don’t know if this is the kind of art style that I want to do so I don’t know what my next art piece will be

It’s funny cause I always thought that my art style was going to be something more like a comic style but then I put my hand to draw and more and more I end up with this kind of art style

would desperately like to know more ab the way you've drawn zuko with the ears and fangs and stuff !! is it like a more high-fantasy au type deal?? regardless it's super super cool looking :))

Thanks so much!!! At first it started with the whiskers, just to make him look more like a creature (because he is) but then I wanted to design Agni, y’know, the s u n. Eventually that spiraled down into the whole “Children of Agni” thing, so in short! Firebenders / Fire Nationals take their looks after Agni, their type of tusks showing weather they were favored/assisted by Agni or not. In Zuko’s case, the whole “lucky to be born” spiel gives him the Yokai-ish teefers. While “The Mark of Agni” (the weird nose stripe) is to show they are of Royal Blood, so Ursa wont have the stripe but Zuko, Ozai, Iroh, and Azula will. As for the ears, that was just an old headcanon as to how I draw each nation/kingdom/tribes general features to make them more distinct aside from their eye colors, more things to make them suspicious if they were sneaking around, more things to hide if you will.

Hope this all sums it up! :)
