Your dreams aren't silly. You aren't wrong or selfish for wanting good things for yourself- for taking care of yourself. You aren't conceited, or selfish for looking up when the whole world seems like it wants to drag you down. When it feels like you can't go on- when it seems like you're the last solider fighting in a forgotten battle- whether that battle is for equality, or just making the world a better place for everyone- or achieving a goal that means something to you- keep going. I know it seems hard now. But I Promise. You'll get there. You deserve good things. You're worthy. And if you work for them, they'll find you.

Ecology over economy

Ecology Over Economy

'Why oh why,' Michael Jackson cried on his brilliant single 'Human Nature,' Life progresses and over three decades after the release of this song we feel that nature deserves a second chance over the human-like appearance that tend to fill up the streets and houses in the ghost towns we have all but become used to being a sherade. Not in these manners. A certain treshold is inevitably linked wirh quality of life and that treshold must be clearly defined, before life gets any worse for some. They include at the very least the basic needs as defined by the pyramid of Maslow, for human beings, they are acces to healthy and nutritious food, shelter and clothes as well as possibilitied for self-develoment.

Being secured of basic human rights and have an understanding of reality and the functioning of the apparatus or systems of autoritities such as government, media and retail in the context of migration and populations are an addituonal requirement. With 'I have forgotten to menrion myself and my background,' becoming somewhat of a cell to many of us, we must have the capacity to take care of ourselves and that requires stability and emancipation and equal rigjts for all. In this art work Called 'Nurture Nature' I specificaly emphasised on the importance of women in having the sane oporunities in life in the jungles our societies have become and in their position of minorities in many fields. For the protection of their equal rights and needs and oportunities in the job market and representation in posts and dields of lavour, for exanple.

Why oh why, is human nature, in the end, so endlessly selfish and prone to perversions when it comes to understandings that must be obvious and goals easy for every person to reach, wether by social system, or private charity and above all, common sense.

Today is Equal Pay Day. On average, a woman in the U.S. has to work until today — March 25th — to earn what a white man was paid in 2024. 🪙🙅🏽‍♀️💵

And the gender wage gap is even worse for women of color. Compared to white men:

💲 Latina and Native women earn 58 cents

💲 Black women earn 66 cents

💲 White women earn 80 cents

💲 Asian American women earn 94 cents

If you care about wages and pay inequality, the politicians WE elect can create policies to address it. Make sure you are registered to vote right now at WhenWeAllVote.org/check.

It's almost time for dinner. I have peace at home, on my street, in my corner of this world. But in Iran, who has? In uncountable corners of this world someone is being hurt, being murdered, harassed, tortured, beaten- and the highest probability is of them being a woman, a transgender person, a black person, a economically weak person, a mentally or physically disabled person and the likes of such.

When will it stop?! This relative brutality, this harmful tradition of controlling lives that those in power believe to be less worthy of theirs- when all of us "unworthy ones" die?

PRISON ISN'T FOR CITIZENS WITH UN-HARMING SELF EXPRESSION, IT'S FOR THE LIKES OF MORAL POLICE!!!

I'm myopic. So I need my glasses everytime I want to experience how a person with normal eyesight sees things. So, the situation is that to experience equality in terms of sight or vision, I NEED my glasses. It's not an advantage, it's a necessity. But to my father, it doesn't seem that way. He thinks I just need to wear glasses when I'm studying. To him, it looks like a tool to help me do something better rather than something that I need to do things normally all the the time.

I think people with any disability are misunderstood the same way and it's a shameful understanding society keeps about their issues. If only these nuances are understood more precisely, maybe we wouldn't question laws made for people with disabilities, so that they can experience equal participation and rights like any normal citizen, and maybe this world would be a slightly better place.

The Older I Get,

My thoughts on the summer budget

I read the full Budget speech that George Osborne gave today.

I think that from a public relations point of view it has been a good budget for the Chancellor.  I found myself thinking, "I agree with that" when watching the news and hearing the headlines.

Now that I have read the budget I am less pleased.

I am disappointed in his Infrastructure plans to increase productivity.

He said -

“Four fifths of all journeys in this country are by road, yet we rank behind Puerto Rico and Namibia in the quality of our network. In the last 25 years, France has built more than two and a half thousand miles of motorway – and we’ve built just 300. In the last Parliament I increased road spending, even in difficult times, and set out a plan for £15bn of new roads for the rest of this decade.”

I was disappointed in this because it makes no mention of public transport, it makes no mention of improving streets and paths to allow and encourage people to walk and cycle.  Roads and streets are important and are a good place for investment, but I am concerned that the Governments plans will see more roads built, which will then fill up with cars and lorries, leading to no net improvement in productivity or happieness.

At one point in his speech he said -

For Britain is home to 1% of the world’s population; generates 4% of the world’s income; and yet pays out 7% of the world’s welfare spending.

What a meaningless statement!!! It may be factually correct but it is not illuminating.  We should really be proud that we spend 7% of the world's welfare spending because there are lots of places that spend zero.

I was disappointed that the budget didn't set out any proposals to increase the affordability of housing or energy by increasing supply.  This is the other side of the tax cut coin, making peoples money go further.

A search through the budget statement shows that equality or inequality was only mentioned once.  He stated that - "In the last fortnight we’ve seen independent statistics showing that since 2010, child poverty is down and so is inequality."  I do not see this as a strong budget to reduce inequality.

I was pleased to see that non-dom status is to be phased out.

I see that corporation tax will be reduced to 18% by 2020.  I would have liked to see that a reduced tax rate associated with less unequal pay structure within corporations. Rather than just taxing high earners companies should pay more tax if they have highly unequal wage structures.  One way to assess wage structues within a company would be through the use of the Gini Coefficient.

I understand that there is going to be further tightening of the rules concerning taxation to close loopholes and I support this.

I find that the discussion of tax credit and minimum wage confusing.  I see that Ian Duncan Smith was cheering the increase in the minimum wage and I am prepared to trust his judgement.

In conclusion, I see this as a budget that was well crafted from the political point of view for middle England.  I think the Budget will not play so well in Scotland.  I am disappointed because I do not see this budget as making Britain a happier place to live.  The Chancellor and the Government don't seem to want to promote more equality, or if they do, they are limiting themselves to only a few tools.  The Budget will not improve affordability which is the other side of the tax coin when it comes to improving peoples lives.

I hope you find these views interesting.

For years now I have heard the word "Wait!" It rings in the ear of every Negro with piercing familiarity. This "Wait" has almost always meant "Never." We must come to see, with one of our distinguished jurists, that "justice too long delayed is justice denied." We have waited for more than 340 years for our constitutional and God-given rights. The nations of Asia and Africa are moving with jetlike speed toward gaining political independence, but we stiff creep at horse-and-buggy pace toward gaining a cup of coffee at a lunch counter. Perhaps it is easy for those who have never felt the stinging darts of segregation to say, "Wait." But when you have seen vicious mobs lynch your mothers and fathers at will and drown your sisters and brothers at whim; when you have seen hate-filled policemen curse, kick and even kill your black brothers and sisters; when you see the vast majority of your twenty million Negro brothers smothering in an airtight cage of poverty in the midst of an affluent society; when you suddenly find your tongue twisted and your speech stammering as you seek to explain to your six-year-old daughter why she can't go to the public amusement park that has just been advertised on television, and see tears welling up in her eyes when she is told that Funtown is closed to colored children, and see ominous clouds of inferiority beginning to form in her little mental sky, and see her beginning to distort her personality by developing an unconscious bitterness toward white people; when you have to concoct an answer for a five-year-old son who is asking: "Daddy, why do white people treat colored people so mean?"; when you take a cross-country drive and find it necessary to sleep night after night in the uncomfortable corners of your automobile because no motel will accept you; when you are humiliated day in and day out by nagging signs reading "white" and "colored"; when your first name becomes "nigger," your middle name becomes "boy" (however old you are) and your last name becomes "John," and your wife and mother are never given the respected title "Mrs."; when you are harried by day and haunted by night by the fact that you are a Negro, living constantly at tiptoe stance, never quite knowing what to expect next, and are plagued with inner fears and outer resentments; when you go forever fighting a degenerating sense of "nobodiness"–then you will understand why we find it difficult to wait.

Why are they called feminists, when they advocate for equal rights? shouldn’t they be called equalists or smth?

Poem

"The World"

(original poem)

Sometimes I look at the world

And I see that it is hideous.

I see a girl typing offensive messages behind a screen,

Knowing no one will know it was her.

I see a boy making jokes about a group of people

When his classmate is part of that group.

I see a girl being told that she “asked for it”

Because her skirt was “too short.”

I see a boy forbidden from being himself

Because he was born a “girl.”

I see a couple keeping their relationship a secret

Because their love is illegal.

I see children torn from their parents and siblings

For coming to a safer place.

I see students huddling in the corner of their classroom,

Hiding from the armed man in the hallway.

I see people who believe that others should not be alive

Because they are different.

I see chaos, hate, prejudice, sadness.

I see all of this, and I think, “The world is hideous.”

Sometimes I look at the world

And I see that it is beautiful.

I see a girl placing her lunch next to a girl she’s never spoken to,

But who looks lonely.

I see a boy standing up to defend his friend

When someone is bullying him.

I see a girl shaving her head and donating her hair

To raise money for cancer.

I see a boy tutoring a younger student at school

And helping him to understand.

I see a family with a raft rescuing their neighbors

From the roof of their flooded house.

I see a group of students organizing a clothing drive

For children who need it more than they do.

I see an act of kindness on the street

That may make a world of difference to one person.

I see celebrations of identity, heritage, and pride,

And people who are unafraid to be who they are.

I see peace, love, acceptance, joy.

I see all of this, and I think, “The world is beautiful.”

I don't need help because I'm female, I need help because I'm human.

Some dude asked to help me carry some bags and I told him, "No, I'm fine, thanks." He kept asking so I was about to hand him a bag, but then he went on to say, "Men need to help Women." Nope! He lost his chance. I don't need a MAN to help me with something I can do myself. Especially not because I am a WOMAN. My grandma (who I was with at the time) tried to excuse his statement by saying the male person was just trying to use manners, but I won't stand for it. Saying it's "manners" just prevents us from acknowledging that statements like that make it okay to make women sound/feel inferior.

What feminism means to me?

Whenever I come across a new word, my first approach towards understanding it, is through the kind of words it is related to or the impression that word has on me. And only when I don't find either of it, I go for the dictionary. So, when I came across this word "FEMINISM" my basic approach told me that it is a word related to females and it's impression was that, it is related to some bigger cause. Therefore for a very long time the meaning of feminism for me was supporting women and their growth. But little did I know that this small word means something completely different.

Feminism as I now know is supporting equal rights to both the sexes. Yes, the meaning I earlier made out really seems correct because eventually females are the oppressed class and if we help them grow then the meaning of feminism will be fulfilled. But still this approach lacks the real essence. I mean personally I don't want a single place to give women preferential treatment, I don't even like the reserved seats in bus for women, because if you are reserving seat for women then why not you label the other seats as reserved for men. The truth is even if we ask the government to label the other seats as men's seat they won't, because it will make men look weak, it will make them look as the class of society who needs preference/reservation in such basic things, especially when they are "strong" enough to stand in the bus all through the journey (which they definitely don't do but they are strong enough). I think labelling seats as reserved for pregnants, sick patients and elderly is the correct approach. I don't know what you think but for me indirectly getting labelled as weak who needs support is not feminism at all.

I know that we are not biologically same, we have our differences and no matter what, they won't change. But when men and women can climb the same Mt. Everest, why can't they achieve the same respect in society. My question is why does a female manager gets less wages than a male manager, even when the man manages just his office while a woman manages her family and office together. I have heard people discuss greatly of single dads but a woman is always a single mom. I agree that time is changing dads are more involved now but still in most of the Indian households it is still the mother who is responsible for a child's health, education, upbringing, etc the only contribution dad's have is giving money and majority of women can earn that also now. Still I haven't heard a single person saying "she brought up her kid alone". So no appreciation at work or home for females, and that's precisely what needs to be changed.

There are so many causes which we take under the movement of feminism but in reality belong to the movement of humanity. Do you think domestic violence is something feminists should fight for or humanists should fight for? Like as a feminist I must have one approach that I don't care if domestic violence is considered correct but if it is correct then women should also get a chance and not be judged for beating up their husbands. Like that is what we are asking "equal rights". So for me it is something humanists should fight for and not feminists. I guess you would have understood by this description that there are so many things, so many instances and moments where we women are not even treated like humans. So, yes how can we jump on getting equal rights if we are not even getting basic human rights.

This is why the meaning of feminism is so blurry because we have to fight for basic rights first then only we can aim for equal rights. In all this, I am still against reservation for women because anyhow labelling us weak is not true to the essence of feminism. I am clearly against undermining the good men by accusing "all men". I am against not fighting those women who act even worsely than men and are the biggest hater of a woman's growth. So today and everyday I ask the world to treat me as they would treat a woman, but to end all differences between a man and a woman. I think most of the women, girls, females want the same thing.

In an ideal world I hope that all men and women are equally appreciated, supported and treated. I hope there are more scenarios where we act as humans and not men or women. I hope we could clear the gender boundaries at workplaces, public places and become more respectful of each other. We don't have to worry because all consider each other as humans respect each other's rights and existence. Most importantly we don't have to fight for basic human respect.
