johnny refusing valentine's deal of bringing back gyro was his ultimate act of selflessness and in another world if johnny was as selfish as he was at the beginning he would've accepted immediately. but a world like that could never exist in the first place because johnnys undying love and devotion for gyro is what made him selfless in the first place
