So, you know how Anthony Ramos plays both John Laurens and Philip Hamilton?
I just had a theory - Burr might be the narrator, but we were still looking at the world through Hamilton's eyes. And he was so devastated after Laurens's death, that he just saw him everywhere.
Including his son.
And when Philip died, he lost all sense of self-preservation. Both the love of his life, and his pride and joy, both so alike in looks and demeanour, gone. Why must he live, when his son and lover await him in heaven?
Oh, but the freedom he'd promised an entire country yearning for a breath of fresh air. The millions of other unknown Johns and Philips in the crowd, the millions of other unknown Elizas, they all depended on him.
He storms around, in a quite bad mood, and along comes...
Jefferson.
That ambitious bastard.
That moron, who'd much better suit presidency, than Alexander Hamilton, the loudmouth who won't shut the fuck up. It wasn't such a bad idea, was it? All he'd have to do is screw up. Or maybe he could change it all... with a duel.

Jean is also part of the organization, and is a shifter as well.
However, he doesn't like to transform because he feels as if he isn't in control of his titan form just yet. He was initially supposed to help with the mission to destroy Wall Rose but backed out after meeting Marco out of fear of hurting him.
He has the mentality of a leader because his father is a high ranking official within the organization and his whole life is based around filling his role when he grows up. He fears he is a terrible leader however and often wonders if he is even cut out for it.
Jean is never seen anywhere near the walls when it is attacked, he also doesn't react the same way everyone else does upon discovering the identities of the other shifters. He seems more agitated and annoyed than angry or betrayed, as if he's pissed they managed to mess up the mission. His reaction to Annie crystallizing herself made me start to wonder.
