I had a futuristic fashion design assignment for my F&A class this week and these are the designs i cooked up🩵🩵🩵
The assignment was to come up with 5 designs based on what i could see people wearing in 2074. A lot of my inspiration for this came from Retro Futurism (ex. the Jetsons) and also how fashion trends a recycled throughout the years. i thought it would be fun to play with 60s/70s inspired silhouettes and blend it with current trends like chainmail and skirts over pants for example.
I was going to the (more realistic) route and be a bit more apocalyptic but i thought this would be more fun of an exercise for and not make me spiral🙃
I ALSO JUST REALLY WANTED TO DO COOL METALWEAR
I drew this for my grandma. Recently I've been thinking about her even more than I always already am and her birthday is this month. And also just because I love her very much. <3
I wanted this artwork to feel comforting and dainty as well as gentle and kind, much like my memories of my grandma. It was important for me to include lots of flowers but esspecially pink roses. They were her favourites and she had a garden full of them. She would talk about the dragonflies in her garden and once sent me and my mom dragonflies made of ribbons (she loved making crafts and sewing <3) so I included dragonflies. She absoluetly adored snowflakes and loved rabbits too. I included a small rat as years ago she had a lovely pet rat named Rosy, and some planets because she once sent my mom a book about space. I included a deer and an angle as angles are angelic and pure, and I think of deers as gentle and dainty innocent creatures. I meant for the drawing to be more pastel colors but it turned out looking kind of Lisa Frank but that's okay. I really hope my grandma would love this drawing. <333
I've very much been absolutely adoring pomegranates recently so I wanted to draw one. One, because they're such a pretty and unique fruit and two, because we had no pomegranate in the house for a couple weeks and I was really craving it so I thought I could draw it and like eat it with my eyes. Since that little bakery drawing I have discovered I love to draw food; it feels so cozy and wholesome.
I wanted to draw something for Lunar New Year even though it is still over a week away, so here's my attempt at drawing a lion like the lions in the lion dances. This was my first drawing done with Procreate on my new iPad with my new apple pencil!! All my digital art supplies have been upgraded so I'm hoping my art will be nicer from now on!

Corable Whistlemel! She's Artimax's son's soon-to-be wife!
I'm contemplating making her some sort of metal or woodworker. She studies under her father, so it's a family business this.
I want her to be cute and girly with some roughness to her. I drew her head too big here though. She's not gonna be big-headed!

Furbeeza- Elloeeza! I'm trying to come up with funny-sounding names for these characters. They live in a world where 'Feffella' is seen as an elegant name for your girlchild.
I won't say who she is quite yet, because I have to flesh her out some more, but she's going to be kind of crazy.

The Dark Woods! Well, it's supposed to be a forest actually.
I was inspired to freehand draw this and it went from a rough doodle to something more complete.
This is where Artimax and her family live, btw.
I still haven't come up with a name for the forest yet.

A 19-year-old Artimax on her wedding day.
I want to give her whimsical rococo vibes, you know, that washed-out pastel candy look that has everyone looking grey and ill, but pretty.
Her headpiece is vaguely ocean-themed with a coral-like structure and pearls.
I also want to do weird makeup. those splotches across her cheeks, nose and chin are going to be brightly coloured.

Another design for Artimax's clothes and hair!
This one is a fancier dress with a leaf cape and spiderwebs.

My last Artimax post is here
Here's Artimax looking more her age. She's a 59-year-old woman who lives in the forest with her husband and children after being accused of a crime she didn't commit and sentenced to death in the same forest that she now comfortably lives in.
I was doodling a more concrete design for her. She and all the other characters are human, but they tend to change appearance based on where they live.
She looks like a plant with her bushy hair, vines growing from it and her green-tinted skin. She's all soft and round, very sweet with a youthful air despite her age. Her clothes would be made of natural fibres and some of the larger leaves.
I also had the idea that married folk would have a vine wrapped around their left forearm, a very obvious symbol of them already being in a committed relationship.

A new character for a new story idea!
At the moment, her name is Artimax and she's a 59-year-old woman who lives in the forest village with her husband and children.
When she was 19, on her wedding day, she was accused of a heinous crime that she didn't commit and the people dragged her from her wedding and threw her into the 'dark forest' (I haven't decided on an ominous enough name yet) as punishment to fit the crime.
Her almost mother-in-law was ecstatic because she never liked her and her people-pleasing almost-husband didn't try to save her.
She was supposed to die in the forest because no one who entered came out.
Turns out people live in the forest, happily and comfortably. She made a life for herself there, met her husband and kids and healed from early life hurts.
That was until she got a letter in her mailbox though, from her ex-fiance's family clearing her name and inviting her to a 'welcome home' party.

Inspired by a video I was watching/listening to on YouTube. It was about how once you've been told the truth, you can see the truth.
The video was about a real lie that a lot of people don't believe, but you can find the truth in it if you look.
