Summary:

“Not serious,” Sam insists, because she doesn’t want them to get the impression that this is something bad, which usually goes hand in hand with serious. “Just… an observation that I didn’t want to keep to myself any longer.” Val’s suit disappears underneath her skin, though she remains perched on her board. She raises a single brow and requests, “Shoot.” In a move that Sam rarely makes, she takes in a single steadying breath. She looks between the three faintly glowing gazes of her friends, and reminds herself that after everything they’ve been through together, this certainly won’t be the conversation to break them apart. “I don’t think that what’s between the four of us is… strictly platonic. It hasn’t been for a while, actually.” [Danny, Sam, Tucker, and Valerie try out more traditionally romatic things in their dynamics. Is it a polycule? ... Probably. That doesn't matter that much, in the grand scheme of things.]

Danny, hands still holding Tucker’s face away from his own, turns and frowns at her again. “No. What I want is to be able to sleep in the bed.” “Not happening,” Sam says, at the same time Tucker says, “No way.” “I knew you both didn’t love me,” Danny says dramatically. “I knew it.” “I love you,” Tucker says, “but I love being warm and cozy while I sleep more.” Having a boyfriend who runs supernaturally cold is only convenient in the summer. In the winter, it becomes a bit of an issue.
