As y’all know, I am a college student. I’m currently in my 4th semester of college & it's going well so far. Last semester I took a gap semester break, so going back to school has been weird but good. I decided a year ago that I wanted to be a communications major, but after working at my current job where I work at a school with kids, I have decided to change my major to Elementary Education. I love my kids at work, I love talking to some of the teachers when I have questions about the kids homework even when I’m struggling with the way the kids are being taught to do certain things, & I grew up being a student at the school I now work at as an employee. I have grown to accept that I know I will become a teacher but I’m so excited for not only my future, but the future of the kids I work with. I hope I get to make an influence on children in their education one day.

Finally, I’m here with the so-called big post! I might’ve overhyped this a bit, but that comes with the territory of having long stretches of radio silence.
I have decided to make changes to the direction of the story (again). Instead of the comic being the primary form of storytelling, it will be the fic instead. What does that mean for the comic? It will continue until chapter 10, and then we'll see where things take us. I rather start small so I can write a conclusive narrative within a reasonable time rather than attempt to manage something far too grand for my current abilities. Depending on how things turn out, I can always start another mini-series in this universe.
So, FAWN the comic will take place about a decade in the past from FAWN the fanfiction. Chapter 1 of the fic will be posted tomorrow, and once it is, I’ll update this post to provide the link. I have a little under 10 chapters written already, but if my brief obsession with Avatar this past month and a half has taught me anything, it's that I can pump out 50k words within five weeks if I really have my heart and soul in it.
To iterate, the fanfiction is not only going to be a rewrite of Lugubriosity, but it’ll continue the story. I know, I know, you might be wondering why would a cancel Lugubriosity in the first place then, and my answer to that? I simply wanted to write a more cohesive narrative, but I might’ve bit off more than I could chew when I initially pulled the plug. All I can do now is take it one step at a time.
The discord is in an unfinished state, but fuck it, I might as well post it so I can gather feedback regarding character backstories, world-building, and all. Below is the link to its beta state. I’m currently in the process of putting together a FAQ for the fic, and already gave a few questions their answers, but if you’d like to add your own, feel free to. I'll slowly piece it into a presentable state within the upcoming weeks.
New pages for the comic coming soon. Thank you to everyone who has been following this very slow journey so far! Honestly, if it weren’t for the pokes I get on Tumblr, I might’ve abandoned this project a while ago.

So I'm 9 days off, but I wish you all a very happy New Year! I have a big post coming up soon (I know I said that in October) as well as a detailed road map for the FAWN project. Some things have changed...again, but these changes need to be made to ensure we actually get a finished product. I'll explain it more in that post.
As for this post, I found some old plotting for The Salt Circle that I thought I'd share just to get back into the swing of posting. I used a program for the map but I cannot recall which one off the top of my head as this was about two years ago. You can see through the list below I was attempting to better gauge each skeleton. I also had some very very rough sketches that I started for each version of the brothers. I might clean those up and post them in the future. Don't let me forget because I tend to do that.
If you would like to check out The Salt Circle, you can find it here.
I'm slow to update, but I made a promise to myself that I will never drop a story even if I temporarily fall out of love with it. But, of course, that might mean a story will drag on for years and years--this year I am going to make an effort to change that starting with me posting the last 10 chapters of the Sonic fic.
So many stories, and so little free time.

In this artwork we have future Frisk in different clown costumes—or maybe it's the attire of the cult, but honestly, what's the difference? Badum tss!
And we have reached the end of October! It has been an eventful month for writing. I managed to write over 30k words between 2 fics and 8 chapters! Unfortunately, most of the art goals haven't been met. I will make up for that though!
Soon I will be releasing a larger post explaining the future of FAWN and any related stories, but for now, I'm going to give my brain (and creative fingers) a bit of a break.
♫ - What I’m currently listening to (plus Papy voice claim at the end?)
I want to preface this post by proclaiming that I'm both a wannabe perfectionist and far too indecisive for my own good. What does this mean? Well, I've been looking over the last few pages of the comic and picking at it like a pimple on a freshly washed face. I gotta get it right, but at the same time these are just thumbnails...right!?
I actually do not know.
On the one hand, I'd love to get the final product on one scrolling page with color, clean line art, and consistency on Sans' face. On the other hand, I am lazy and afraid that if it becomes too much work I'll simply drop it. Quite the predicament. I will say that 6 pages are the farthest I've gone with a comic, colored or otherwise, so who knows. I just might surprise myself.
What are they? Google says they are:
The formation of a word from a sound associated with what is named (e.g. cuckoo, sizzle ).
What are they to me? Oh, just the best thing since mango mochi. I found my dream font, learned how to describe a flute playing at a ballet, and now I'm wrestling with myself to not overdo it. Should I add in the sound of the wind for safety measures? What about the click of heels, every breath a character takes, when they pass gas? Ah, yes, I can hear it all now, or rather, see it.
Plus, one of the benefits of describing sound(?) is the filling in of whitespace, and as a lazy artist (how many times will I say it?) this pleases me very much.
bloop, blop
ting, tong, tang
twingle, twangle
bam, ban, bang
fwoosh, swoosh, whoosh
Thank you to YourDictionary and this blog for providing examples.
I might sneak in a few more edits to posted pages this week. There could be very small tweaks, maybe major ones. I might try to give Sans reconstructive surgery on his face until I get him just right. I might wait until we get more pages done before I go back for more tweaks.
They say when working on the first draft of a novel you are to write and not look back until the draft is done. Unfortunately, this isn't a novel, so I'm gonna ignore that advice.

I went to my first convention this past weekend. It was definitely an experience seeing people in cosplay in real life—I even dared to dress up. While there, I came across so much inspiration for my art that sparks flew through my brain. It was definitely a much-needed trip.
So enough of that! I have finally gotten around to sketching out different ideas for Frisk. These are just rough drafts that mainly play around with hairstyles, (she will still wear the signature bangs and bob. Option B is simply my fun little way of showing her face) and skin shades. I'm open to keeping her a Simpsons yellow too so anyone can easily see themselves in her—or maybe not considering her circumstances lol!
Either way, I think it would be fun to vote on it! (once I figure out how to create a poll, that is).
The previous poll appears to be neck and neck with a suggested AU and an original AU (based on the comments and the poll numbers). We will create from scratch to keep things simple while heavily referencing Underfell, that way we are technically doing both options. Below are the results.
Thanks again to everyone who voted! Once I figure out how to embed a poll in this post I will make an edit to include it. In the meantime, if you like any of the options, feel free to comment, and your vote or suggestion will be noted.
Edit: I’m stupid, all I had to do was edit this post to get a poll in—not create a whole new one. Hahaha…

TL;DR - I will no longer give myself deadlines, and we will be blending formatting and thumbnailing together in order to get the ball rolling on the comic.
I joke all the time and say that if I don't want to follow through with something, I should set a deadline. This joke has been a way to avoid beating myself up after another project goes on hold, or another plan isn't followed. I suppose I am unreliable—I'd moan, only to realize this usually applies to personal projects I do for fun and not the other aspects of my life.
Fawn, and every fanfic I write, should be for fun.
I can say it currently is fun, but recently I feel myself growing stressed whenever I think about it. I've been dreading creating posts—absolutely hating the idea of it, so I've been avoiding it altogether. Social media has never been my specialty, and the few times that I forced myself to give it a try I often got caught up in the numbers, the engagement, and the thirst for attention. It's bad for mental health, so I taught myself to put it away, to use it only as a bystander and not as a "content creator".
I don't want this to be that way. I genuinely want to see this comic to the end if only for myself and no one else. It would feel good to look at 30 or so pages of finished artwork, and say, "yeah, I created that." Now that, that is what I crave, so I'll keep going.
What I won't do is what I did last week and give myself 7 days to draw something I loathe without any guidance. Not only did I decide to not do that, (instead, I spent my free time writing a completely unrelated fanfic) but I lost a lot of the motivation that held before.
So! From now on I won't give myself deadlines.
I want to speed things up. There's been a lot of beating around the bush, and not actually drawing the comic, so to fix that I will be blending stages 2 and 3 together. There is absolutely no reason not to create the thumbnails as I'm doing the page formatting.
I'm closing the current poll as well. I'll announce the results in my next post. The good news is that Tumblr introduced polls directly on the site, so I'll be sticking with that the next time I run one of 'em.
Lastly, I still want to thank you for sticking by, liking the posts, or simply viewing them. I will be turning my personal notifications off for everything beyond asks submissions, since I don't want to get into the slump of feeling like I'm doing this for notes, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate you taking your time out of your day to peek into my little bubble.
