MacReady in the thing from another world:
yep, that's MacReady. he's wearing a different outfit for some reason, but its still definitely him.
MacReady in climate of fear:
doesnt really look like him and he's got way longer hair, but i'm pretty sure theres a timeskip while hes unconscious
MacReady in eternal vows:
literally who is that
ironically the only comic he's wearing his normal outfit
rj macready was an unstable bisexual with a flamethrower. my hero.
so i read Who Goes There? and uh… not only is Mac a meteorologist but also
and i just couldn’t stop thinking about it
Your hands are so cold
I love how everyone just ships everyone together ‘cause they’re all really shippable with each other and yet none of us have a considered the possibility that they could all just be poly if we wanted them to be.
WinMac should NOT be the top ship. You guys are insane when MacReady and Childs is RIGHT THERE. That ending??? Dead mans yaoi. They had chemistry throughout the whole film, and Y'all latched onto Windows and MacReady?? Is it all for the computer brands joke?? Whatever. Just you wait.
@emile-tb knows whats up, and is holding the flashlight for my keyboard while I type in the dark rn.
He tells me to tell yall he says hi.
if you guys have ship name ideas for Mac and Childs lmk
I’m not in the Monster High or Monster As Teenager adjacent fandoms, but has anyone done “Daughter of The Thing (1982)” and it looks like just a teenaged girl version of Kurt Russell? No tendrils, no tentacles, just a girl with this exact fit and hair
She swears that she isn’t the daughter of The Thing (1982). She’s a totally normal human you guys. She shouldn’t even be at this school. She likes normal human things like not having her blood tested.
Honestly, I love how everyone looks up to Mac for direction the entire movie, but for some reason they all get on his case immediately about calling the people at the other base Swedes.
“They’re Norwegian, Mac.”
Like for some reason in the beginning of the movie when things didn’t go to absolute shit yet they don’t question his judgment much and tend to quickly follow his lead even though he’s a very obvious alcoholic with some underlying anger/paranoia issues (probably as a result of his implied PTSD from being a Vietnam war vet).
But it’s like, the Norwegians. Lol. That’s the real deal breaker for them.
Alright what do y’all consider the funniest joke in The Thing and NO you can’t say the Palmer “you gotta be fuckin kidding” choose a different one
I’m personally very fond of Copper repeatedly telling Mac that the Norwegians aren’t Swedish
*grabs him by the scruff like a cat*
