~Chapter 8~

As you walk into the party, your hand on Shoto's arm, you're overwhelmed with senses, A nice, slow background music wafts around the large ballroom from a piano in the corner, The smell of wine and bakery items straight out of the oven drifts to your nose. You discreetly look around to find the sorce of the heavenly smell. As you glance around, you fully realize just how many people were here- it seemed like the whole kingdom! Well, concidering the occasion, it wouldn't be surprising it most of the important nobles were invited.

As Shoto led you further into the ballroom, you made note of the lavish decorations. To one side of the ballroom was a banquet table with delicious pastries and wine- just what you were looking for! To the other side, standing tales for guests to mingle. The walls were decorated with velvet red curtains for the beautiful windows. And ahead of you, a raised platform with thrones.

King Enji and Queen Rei were sitting on their respective thrones, chatting with Natsou and Fuyumi, who had managed to squirm through the crowd ahead of you, "Ready?" Shoto's soft voice broke you at of your daze. You took a deep breath and forced a smile onto your face- though you hoped that he couldn't tell that it warsn't entirely forced. "About as ready as I'll be. You?" He smiled slightly at your cheeky response. "Let's get this done and over with Shall we?" And just like that, his stoic mask was back as you two climbed up the stairs to the raised platform.

POV CHANGE- SHOTO

As he held Y/N’s hand, all he could think was "act normal, act normal”, trying to act like his heart wasn't beating out of his chest He towed her behind him as he passed through the crowd to his father, He politely nodded at all the Dukes and Duchesses, Marions and Marionettes, Nobles and other important people as he passed by. As he glanced up at the platform, he saw his two siblings in their own thrones on king Enji's side. And to his mother's side, a new throne was next to his. It must be for Y/N L/N. Well, that was her name for a little while longer. By the end of the week, she would be Y/N Todoroki, A shiver went up his spine at the thought.

Once they got up to the raised platform, he bowed to his father and nodded to his mother. His father tapped - well, tapped is an understatement. More like banged - his scepter on the marble floor to get everyone's attention. His mother slipped him a small white velvetly box with an encouraging smile. He didn't hear what his father was saying as he ran his thumb over the box. The box with the ring- no, their ring in it. he sighed under his breath as he tuned into what his father was saying. "-this alliance marriage..." of course he would call it that. "… between Y/N L/N and my son, Shoto Todoroki, will strengthen the bonds between our kingdoms.” Then his father turned to him, their eyes meeting for a split second, "The ring, Son." How does your own father calling you ‘son' sound so wrong? Though he nodded as he opened the box.

He watched as her eyes sparkled upon seling the ring, her face a light pink color. He looked down at the ring, silently studying it. And he couldn't lie, it really was quite beautiful, It had two stones, cut into the shape of a heart. (how ironic) One stone was his birthstone, a sparkling Garnet, And the other was what he assumed was her birthstone, a lovely (). He reached for her hand. He chuckled as he watched her quickly wipe her hand on her dress, an endearing habit, before letting him take your hand. Then he took the ring out of the box, setting the box on a small table. Although his father was talking, he paid no mind as he slid the ring on her finger. Then he smiled at her flustered expression and brought her hand to his lips, pressing a light, lingering kiss to her knuckles right next to her lips. he watched as your face flushed a brighter pink - if that was even possible, He smiled as he dropped her hand back to her side. Maybe if he could male her face pink everyday, this wouldn't be so bad. But, just two days until the real hellhole-the wedding.

Hey my crazies! I was a little too motivated last night and I typed this up!! It's super long to make up for my month-long break from writing! I hope you guys like this, it took my an hour or so bc y'know, writers block. I was having trouble with this chapter bc I have never been to a wedding or engagement party haha

~Chapter 7~ Your eyes flutter open as you feel warmth leave your body. You whine at the sudden coldness and rub sleep from your eyes. "Morning Sleepyhead.” A deep, husky voice -obviously morning voice - made your eyes jolt open and focus on Shoto's face hovering over you "Akk!" You yelp in surprise, jolting up, holding your hand to your heart "holy-" cough "what the heck?!” Shoto chuckles and clears his throat as you feel blood wishing to your cheeks.

“You fell asleep on me, princess, " his soft voice says with a hint of playfulness as he moves off of you. You grumble something under your breath "Well, you might as wel get used to it. I'm sure your father will insist on us sharing a bed after the marriage ceremony." His playful expression disappears almost instantly and his gaze fixes on his hands in his lap. You sigh and open your mouth to apologize but are interuptted by a knock on the door.

"Come in" Shoto mumbles, still in his sour mood from your comment, before you can protest. Fuyumi pokes her head in, standing in silence for a moment as she takes in the scene.

You, a blushing mess, and Shoto, both of you on his bed. "oooh~" she coos, walking in and shutting the door behind her " you two lovebirds have some explaining to do~" She smirks as the two of you glare at her "What is it, Fuyumi?" Shoto mumbles, crossing his arms and looking the other way, pouting.

"Oh, right!" Fuyumi snaps her fingers, "I'm here to collect Y/N for her dress fitting.” She seems to notice your confused expression and she giggled, "Today's your engagement party, silly!" You mentally smack your head, You were so distracted by the current situation that you completely forgot!

5 hours later, you were bring dragged through hallways by Fuyumi, who was rambling on and on about how pretty the dress looked on you. Soon enough, the two of you stopped in front of an extravagent obsidian door. "Where the hell are they?! " Fyumi grumbles, releasing your wrist from her grasp. "Right Here," Shoto's familiar voice came from behind you he was wearing a red and white tux with a tie the opposite, His face loked a little more flustered then usual. He coughed after a few moments of awkward silence and spoke softly, offering his arm to you "You look very pretty, Y/N..." You took his aim with a soft giggle. You look very handsome too. Shall we?" you nadded to the door.

Shoto blushed slightly when you mentioned he was handsome but quickly snapped out of it and nodded, pushing open the large obsidian doors, revealing the lively engagement party…

I got super distracted 😂 so sorry! Me and my new friend from camp are writing another fanfic so this got put to the side, so, I decided to write this chapter longer then usual 😃 thanks so much for your support so far on this fanfic! It means so much to me ❤️

~Chapter 6~

You hardly remember what happened after dinner ended. But, Somehow you're in your bed- In the Todoroki castle -you realize after a moment. you jolt up in bed, glancing around the room. the first thing you notice is that the sun is setting outside the window. Must be late evening now. The next thing you notice is that the door separating your room and Shoto’s room is wide open. Shoto. Your fiance. He's sitting on his bed, leaning against the headboard, reading,

You slide out of bed and glance at Shoto, who's still reading. He hasn't noticed you yet. You groggily make your way to his room. As soon as you step foot into his room, he glances up at you from his book looking right into your eyes. His hetrochermia eyes are so pretty... you can feel the blood rushing to your cheeks. oh! You must look like a blushing idiot. He smiles and scoots over on his bed, patting the space next to him. Your eyes widen. He- He's actually... o-okayyy. You don't hesitate and suddenly you're at his side. he puts his book down and leans slightly on you. If it's even possible to blush more, you're done it.

You sigh, "so, engagement party tomorrow?" he groans, "yep. Just a whole lot of drunk adults." You nod. Good thing you don't drink. "Don't take this the wrong way, I mean you're Super nice and all..." you trail off. "You don't want to get married?" he suggests. Your eyes widen in surprise and you nod. he looks down at his hands.

"I think that it's fine that you don't want to get married" he starts. his voice soft. “l'm not exactly estatic either. But, is there really anything we can do about it? My father is pretty set on us getting married." You glance up at him. "mine too." you rest your head on his shoulder and you can feel him stiffen at your touch but then wrap his arm around your shoulders, mindlessly rubbing your arm. “

So," You break the silence "how exactly did I manage get from the dining room all the way up here? because I don't remember a thing!" There's a few moments of silence before Shot's melodious laugh fills the air.

"Seriously!"

"What happened!?"

~Chapter 5~

Your eyes dart around the dining hall, looking at all the tapestries around the room. You try not to meet Shoto's eyes and try to act natural. Your father's bellowing laugh and Shoto's father's almost sinister laugh send a shiver down your spine. A waiter brings a plate of salad for you and you just stare at it. Do they really think that all princesses eat is salad? So stereotypical. Personally, you don't like salad. You'll eat it if it has meat or other stuff in it but this type of salad? No way. You tap your mother's arm and once you have her attention, you point to your salad. Without saying anything, your mother seems to understand. She calls the waiter over and, to your relief, the waiter leaves to bring back something else.

"YIN." Your eyes dart to king Enji."Tomorrow will be your engagement party to Shoto," You notice Shoto shifting in his seat, uncomfortable. "Then, two days later will be the wedding." You blink a few times before your brain processes this.

"Oh-Okay." You manage to mutter out. He nods and continues,

"After that, you will fully move in with Shoto as a marred couple, " Your brain freezes. 'Married couple' ... he had to use those words. He proceeds to ask a bunch of preferences on the party, such as type of flowers and color, which your mother happily answers for your sake.

~Notes from me~

This one isn't as long as usual but, I managed to whip up this filler in half hour (because I was listening to music... you know what I mean)😏 but, I actually like the idea that Y/N is shy when talking about the marriage but is really outgoing otherwise.🤩 Anyway, next post will hopefully be another long one but it will come out in two or three days.😃I'm hoping to finish this fanfic before I go to camp.😂

~Chapter 4~

He pulled the girl behind him as he gave her the grand tour of the castle, occasionally announcing the dining hall, grand hall, or some painting, He would stop then for a few minutes so the girl could look at the said item or place. It wasn't until they stopped at a balcony that he thought to ask the gin's name.

She hurried over to the balcony, leaning over the edge. He smiled slightly but then realized and quickly fixed his face back to his normal stok expression. He took a breath and then casually walled over to her, putting his hand on the small of her back, He could feel her surprise when he touched her but didn't react. "So," he started, " I never caught your name" She turned so she was facing him and he was forced to let go of her. "Well, I'm YIN. I was expecting that you'd already know my name, since ... y’know."

He cringed because he knew exactly what she was talking about- The arranged marriage.

She had such an energetic and feisty voice, it made his cold heart -no pun intended- flutter with joy. He had to fight back the urge to smile. He thought to himself, "Oh come on Shoto, Toughen up! You are a rock, You won't - oh damn, she's hot." He was just fighting a losing battle in his mind. He eventually gave in and allowed the corners of his mouth to turn up into a smile.

The girl, YIN, noticed his smile and her face lit up. "So, I saw there was a garden or something down there" She leaned over the edge again and he had the urge to steady her again, To protect this sweet girl. He restrained from putting his hand on her back again, But instead, he leaned against the railing next to her. He looked down. Oh. She was talking about his mother's royal garden. "We can go down and look, I suppose." He said nonchalantly, knowing what she was going to ask. She grinned and grabbed his hand, pink dusting her cheeks. though, he couldn’t tell if it was makeup or not.

She dragged him out into the hallway "Come on! Which way is it?" She wasn't visibly flustered, which surprised him. Usually girls would be a flustered mess by this point - with all he's done. Who knows. Maybe this girl is different.

Within a few minutes, they were down at the ground level, walking through the gardens. She was just so beautiful , walking next to the flowers and trailing her fingers along the stems, he let himself smile and picked a blue tulip from a tulip bush. He caught up to her and slipped it behind her ear, his hand grazing her shoulder. Her hand went up to the tulip and she smiled at him. Her face was now glowing pink, "cute.." was all he could think. They continued wandering through the gardens hand in hand with pink faces.

so, I typed up a little longer chapter today because I’ve been slacking off 😅 but, I hope you like it! I had some big time writers block so I decided to plan out the entire fanfic 😝. I have decided that there will be 14 chapters at least. Maybe more! Next chapter will hopefully be coming out in two or three days!

~Chapter 3~

"They'll be perfect for each other!" Fuyumi exclaimed, "I' finally have a sister!" "Sister-in-law," Natsou corrected.

"Ugh, They're basically the same!" Fuyumi whined, "Kids!” King Enji's booming voice shut them up and at the same time, snapped you out of your trance. You looked at Shoto for another minute, enjoying the sight, before pulling your hand away from his grasp.

King Enji sighed and grumbled something under his breath before addressing your parents. You couldn’t help out glance at Shoto again, who looked like a sad puppy from king Enji interrupting his ‘moment’ with you. So cute! "I will show the King and queen to their quarters for their stay, " King Enji's voice made you avert your gaze away from Shoto.

"In the meantime, Shoto and Y/N will get... aquatinted with each other." You had a feeling you knew what he meant by that. Not a bad feeling, per se. More like a OMG-butterflies-are-doing-flips-in-my-stomach type of feeling.

Your mother turned to you and pressed a gentle kiss against your forehead "good luck" she whispered into your ear. You managed a weak smile before she took your father's arm and pressed their lips together -ew!! Then she declared that she was ready to go. King Enji lead your parents away while Queen Rei ushered ben Shoto's siblings away, not before giving shoto an encouraging smile. Soon, you were left alone on the on castle steps with Shoto, You gulped and glanced at Shoto expectingly.

~Chapter 3.5~

He waited another moment before looking at you. he held out his hand and spoke for the first time since you arrived, "Shall we go?" His voice was soft and gentle like his mother. It was comforting while it also had a bit of authority to it, like his father, giving of a sense of protectiveness. You stared at his hand for a minute before smiling and putting your smaller hand in his. he exhaled- almost in relief and smiled back. He gently squeezed your hand and lead you into the castle...

~Notes from me~ Don't you guys just loveee cliffhangers? 😂 Sorry about that but I mean, I gotta get you hooked somehow. For the next part, I think It’ll come out in maybe in two days. But I know some of you guys like smut (maybe not but I’ve seen it everywhere) but I will not be writing smut. 😔 Just a little warning. ❤️ you guys!!

~Chapter 2~

You begrudgingly take the cariage drivers hand as he helps you down from the carriage. Honestly, you think that you could've gotten down just fine by yourself but it isn't "ladylike" or "polite". As the carriage driver helps down your mother and father, you discreetly wiped your hands on your dress. You gaze at the castle, with its extravegant designs and towering steeples. You watch as the large obsidian doors slowly open and the royal family of the western isles make their way out. (Touya's story is still the same, btw) You recognize king Enji and his wife, Queen Rei, and their daughter, Princess Fumuyi, she was fiddling around with her necklace, and was obviously uncomfortable in her dress. You had a feeling that the two of you would be good friends. Then were the two boys, one of them her fiance, the other his brother. You were busy trying to decide which was which when your mother elbowed you gently.

Your head snapped back to her and you rolled your eyes.

Your father gave you "the look" and the three of you started climbing the bazillion steps up to the royal family of the western isles.

Chapter 2.5

You awkwardly curtsy- well, awkward compared to your mother -in front of the royal family of the westem isles, while your father bows. King Enji nods and then completely ignores you and your mother, chatting away with your father, Queen Rei must be used to this because she steps up and greets the two of you, introducing you to her children. You soon discovered that your fiance was the quieter, cuter one. You secretly weren't dreading this marriage as much. At least you'l have a cute husband, And his eyes- don't get me started on his eyes, you feel like you could stare into them for days.

You smile at your fiance, not expecting a response from the stoic prince. To your surprise, the corners of his lips curled up in a half-smile. He took your hand gently and leaned down, bringing it to his lips, and pressing a soft, kiss against your knuckles. He doesn't even break eye contact.

Your thoughts were going WILD, "Oh. My. Gosh."

"Am I falling for him?!" "No way" "His lips are so soft?"

You didn't even notice the outside world now. You didn't even notice that you were blushing like a strawberry.

You didn't even notice that your family and his were both going crazy...

~Intro~

You were the princess of the eastern isles while he was the prince of the western isles. You were known for beauty and kindness while he was known for a stoic and intimidating personality, You were quite adventurous and daring while he preferred to stick to the rules. The list of differences goes on and on. You two are complete polar opposites, Somehow, looking past all of that, your fathers had a so-called "brilliant" idea to arrange a marriage. You couldn't even protest because you were of age to get married…

~Chapter 1~

"You must be polite. Act like a lady for once, Don’t..." You rolled your eyes as your mother trailed off about things you should and shouldn't do. Your head rested on the window of the royal carriage, occasially nodding to pretend you were actually listening. "Y/N! Are you listening?" your mom's voice snapped you out of your trance, "What did I just say?" When you didn't respond, she sighed and smoothed down her dress, "It's important you make a good impression on the Todoroki family" You just groan out of annoyance.

"Yes, Yes, I understand mother" your voice is quiet and you let your locks of curly hair fall over your face. No chance you were letting your own mother see the sadness on your face- the despair of being married off -for all things, a stupid frendship treaty. A way to prove their friendship. So dumb.
