When you stick together with your enemy because you want to use him as a tool, but in your time together start to see the human side of him and realise that despite your differences maybe he's the only person who could ever fully understand you?

I was feeling stressed yesterday, so I did a little redraw of a scene I really liked :3 (S1E2)
I'm by no means under the impression that Zukka is canon or whatever, but I really love the drama in this scene nonetheless. There's a lot of tension, as it's the first confrontation with the Fire Nation. You see both of them gearing up for battle in really opposite ways - Sokka painting his face, alone in his tent while Zuko gets his armour put on by servants. All accompanied by a sick OST playing in the background. Yeah.. I just think it's neat
Top drawings don't really match the vibe of the lower one, but i don't care, i had to show you what was in my brain

Honestly I do love the trailer, it looks amazing. But only time will tell with the writing and acting for the show. I’m both excited and nervous and can’t wait til it comes out.

Found this few months old wip in the dungeons and I decided to revive her lol. These are some sketches inspired by some even older sketches of this au I did back in high school! It's just a silly couple of doodles that were just for fun! A lot of these designs were inspired by @chiptrillino and their atla art! Maybe in the future, I'll also give the Fire Nation girls and other characters some designs too!

just some wing au thoughts
zuko's wings are red-tailed cockatoo's but he (and his family) calls them cuckoo wings.
aang's wings are swan-sparrow wings. you know, graceful migrating birds who live in cliffs.
toph's wings are from a burrowing owl and they are too small for her to fly with but sturdy enough to help dig.
katara's wings are ptarmigan-owl (snowy owl specifically) wings. Adapted to the cold.
sokka's wings are a heron-fisher's (king fisher) wings. a hunter's wings.
azula's are hummingbird-shrike's. self explanatory i think, she may or may not dye them and they were the only thing her father disapproved of until she mastered lightning and blue was fashionable again.
iroh's are a paradise bird's.

I see posts where ppl often criticise zutara, as they can’t see katara wanting to leave her tribe and becoming Fire Lady, and I was curious how you interpret this scenario? No hate just genuinely curious 😊😊

I'm a firm believer that you can make a character do anything without it feeling OoC as long as you've got a solid base. Basically—anything is possible as long as it feels natural in the story.
I never felt like Katara becoming Fire Lady (or Queen Consort, or Lady of the Two Lands, or whatever you wish to call her) would mean leaving her Tribe behind. Her roots are strong and alive in everything she does. She's Master Katara of the Southern Water Tribe, and she'll remain as such no matter who she marries or what title she carries.
I'm not saying it would be easy. I'm saying Katara's stubborn and isn't willing to give up when she's fighting for something she wants. If she truly wishes to stand by Zuko's side, then woe betide whoever dares say she can't do it.
Being in a relationship is hard. Ruling over a broken nation you were once targeted by is even harder. But I can't really see anyone else taking up the challenge and doing a better job of it than Katara.
Why would making a home of the Fire Nation (or anywhere else, for that matter!) mean forsaking her culture? Wouldn't Katara take the South with her everywhere she goes? Wouldn't Zuko love her culture and make it part of who he is?
Katara has never let anyone else walk over her. She has never shied away from breaking tradition and building her own path over it. Why should this be any different?
This frame really puts into perspective how it was really just a twelve year old playing tag with an older twelve year old 😭

Sorry Guys, I know this is late for day 1 considering today is like day 7, but I didn't know this event was happening until after it started and I wanted to post something for it and I really liked this prompt so I decided to just go for it. I meant for it to be like a few k and then it ended up being like 10k... but I'm really happy with it and I hope you all like it!

More reasons why Zuko being the Firelord is objectively the funniest thing on earth:
HES SEVENTEEN
He hasn’t been civilised in 4 years, his entire teenage experience consists of living on a boat and sleeping rough. The most stable bed he has was probably in Ba Sing Se he probably will just nap anywhere.
He has customer service experience which means he probably uses his customer service voice on his minsters.
Additionally he probably just wanders into to kitchen to get his own snacks and tea because he forgets what servants do.
He probably has no idea why he can’t just chase after an assassin he used to hunt the avatar for Agnis sake why is the captain of the guard demanding he stay in his room he’ll find the guy first (he’s probably right)
Katara probably has a free pass on Eco terrorism because what’s he going to do challenge her, she’ll beat his ass.
If he saw a minster doing something shady he will either invite lady Beifong to detect their BS or commit B&E and look for evidence himself.
He somehow found a baby dragon and raises it.
He will be far to willing to give Kyoshi island anything they want cause he feels bad and Suki scares him.
He randomly insisted on giving some earth kingdom village 100 ostrich horses.
The Avatar will just show up call him Hotman and demand the go on adventures and the Firelord will just dip because he’s been confined to long and has the Zoomies.
He takes far to much advice from Sokka and will genuinely believe if someone doesn’t get Sokkas plans they must be an idiot because Sokka is 16.
Sokka and Zuko also get into a lot of teenage rebellion phases by accident.
Toph just walks in breaks a wall of his palace and demands a field trip that always involves the Firelord having to explain himself to the cops.
He somehow knows every dangerous teen in the world and they all come for tea uninvited.
He has broken into both the NWT and Ba Sing Se.
He has a really well documented facial scar and official portraits but still disappears to be Lee the tea guy like no one knows.
HES SEVENTEEN.

Third Nobleman: And there was an uprising at one of the schools. Apparently one of the students, a young colonial wearing his school uniform belt as a headband, started a "rewrite the history books" campaign.
Zuko: Young people these days.
Fourth Nobleman: Also someone in a spirit mask is robbing the rich at swordpoint while reciting lines from theater.
