Greetings and salutations, my most esteemed human followers! I have not posted anything in a while, although I have reposted some beautiful poetry and space pictures I enjoyed a lot, so be sure to check those out.
But I have returned to bring forth something I’m very proud of! I’ve been trying to get into astrophotography, and thanks to a college course and the help of my professor, I’ve managed to acquire a half decent photo!
This is Messier 33, otherwise known as the Triangulum Galaxy. It’s not the fanciest photo in the world, and there are some on this site that blow it out of the water, but I made this myself, so I’m proud.
Astrophotography is a slow business, and I have incredibly high standards for myself, but hopefully I’ll post some more in the future. I just wanted to share with you all what I did. Thank you, from someone lost in the void 🪐 🔭

Years of watching Star Trek TOS have gotten me saying “interesting” and “fascinating” to literally everything. Some would call this a problem.
I disagree.
my favorite thing to say as a reaction to stuff is “dear lord” i say it at least 10 times a day
I really enjoyed this quiz immensely, I encourage anyone seeing this to try it out! The result fits me quite spectacularly.
I made a thing!! Really proud of this one 💖 I'd love to see your results!

We are just as much a part of nature and the planet Earth as any other creature. This concept that we can “conquer nature” doesn’t really make any sense, since we are nature too.
humans are an essential part of the ecosystem. nearly every ecosystem on earth had humans as an essential part of its function. the earth would be worse off than before if we were gone suddenly overnight. send tweet
I find it ironic that Earth sounds like an alien spaceship. I wonder how much of that sound is just the wind and atmosphere, or if perhaps it’s possible we can hear humanity as well.
This song is everything I want in an auditory experience. Poetic, calming yet energetic, and full of astronomical metaphors that really get me excited. No matter what my state of being may be, this song always keeps me going. The entire album has a similar effect, but it’s this song specifically that has just the right vibes for someone who’s lost in the void 🪐🔭
Here are some lovely pictures I took a while ago of the night sky. It’s the best I can do with an old iPhone and shaky hands, but I think they look nice.
I hope you enjoy them! The starry sky always brings joy to my life, even when things are rough. They remind me not to worry about everything all of the time, and just enjoy the darkness. And thank you to all of my current followers, for being here despite my chronic disappearance from this mortal plane. I promise I’ll try to stay grounded more often. 🪐🔭
I highly recommend checking out this video by Like Stories of Old on YouTube. He goes into lots of detail about the concept of anti-war films and how war is portrayed in media. I personally find it really fascinating.

Pretty impressive that America has been at war for 20 fucking years and yet there have been essentially no anti-war films out of supposedly liberal Hollywood because it’s effectively impossible to make war movies without the consent of the US Military who only want to be depicted with jingoistic favourability.
My brother! I sing for you, for your song shall be heard.
I sing for the billions of years you have sung, and sing for billions more.
May you sing for all the stars and planets who bow to you, and sing for all the light and dark that fear you. Sing, and may the universe be better because of it.

I’m actually learning how to speak Latin on Duolingo, it’s a lot of fun!
Who knows? Maybe I’ll find a girl who also speaks Latin, loves the night sky and writes poems. Wouldn’t that be lovely...
oh to meet a boy who speaks latin, loves the night sky and writes poems
Sometimes you meet a person and you just click - you’re comfortable with them, and you don’t have to pretend to be anyone or anything.

I’m looking forward to the day when that happens.

I'm going to send the question back at you now. What is your favorite thing about space?
Like you said, I really really like all the variety and vastness of space. I’m mostly in awe at the immense scale the universe works at, from galaxies to superclusters to filaments. It really makes everything going on down on planet Earth so insignificant (but like in a good way? If that makes sense? I’m not trying to be nihilistic, it just puts things in perspective). As you may be able to tell from my name, I’m also fascinated by the idea of space itself. Like, everyone thinks it's just an empty void between star systems, but there’s just so much going on we can’t see! Dark matter, dark energy, fluctuations in the spacetime continuum, and so much we haven’t even imagined yet!
It’s just so easy to get, well, lost in...
I get off tumblr for not even a few hours, and everything blows up? What did I miss??
I’m going back into space. Wake me up when 2020 is over.
I am so so so looking forward to the day where humanity as a species can experience these spaceships in person, or something similar in design. Spaceships are so so so cool.

I’m going to try and write a proper novel this month. I’ve never really tried anything of this magnitude before, and I’m worried I won’t be able to finish it, but I’m going to try. Wish me luck!
